5:40 am, Nene woke up late,not having enough time to do everything,she quickly brushed her hair,and put on her uniform. She looked at the time 5:53 “I’m doomed” she ran to the kitchen and just grabbed her juice,getting ready to run to school. 5:58 and she is there,hungry,sweaty and almost late to class. She changed her shoes to enter,she grabbed her books and went into class just when the bell rings. She sat down and waited for the teacher *ding dong* recess. A hungry and forgetful Nene runs to the balcony to eat. And then,doom...no lunch for Nene,at least she has her juice. She slowly walks to her seat, on Tsukasa’s side and also Rui near. Tsukasa has already finished his lunch, and Rui has some veggies left,in fact they look untouched,he is probably saving it for later. Nene sits besides them “hello Nene!” Says Tsukasa enthusiastically “hello Kusanagi” Rui says “hi guys...” she said absolutely defeated,looking up Rui had his head a little tilted to the side, looking a little curious Tsukasa took the initiative and asked Nene “although,Nene, why don’t you have lunch?” Nene looked at Tsukasa “uhm I forgot my lunch today” she laughed awkwardly, Rui looked away to giggle. A confused Nene asked “what is it Rui” Rui turned back to face her once again,avoiding her gaze, and rubbing the back of his neck with his hand. “Soo...—“ Tsukasa interrupted him “Don’t you dare give her your food,eat your goddamn vegetables” Nene quickly turned to Rui with her eyes wide open in “shock” making Rui smile nervously “ah- Tsukasa,I wasn’t going to,how could you say that. I’m hurt!” He falsely wept. Nene,was still stuck on her mind castle, ‘does he not eat his veggies?’ She wondered “you guys I gotta go to the bathroom” said Tsukasa as he stood up and left Rui turned to Nene with a serious face “Kusanagi,you gotta be kind with me...” Nene retreated from him a little ,looking at him weirdly “please Kusanagi—“ he clasped his hands together “you must help me!” She didn’t know what to say and with her hands lowered Rui’s hands,just to see a Rui with a slight blush. Well it is an embarrassing request to ask someone that she has to admit,but she didn’t expect that at all,she never thought of Rui as shy,although she barely knows him,she would have expected to know well damn he is a little cute she sighed “ok Kamishiro” she just stole his small plate of veggies and slowly ate some with her fingers “ I’ll help you this once...” she kept munching.The bell rang, Nene said bye to Rui and Tsukasa then headed to class. At dismissal she waited the 10 minutes until rehearsal in the library,as she usually would. She sat down to read a book “The little mermaid” was the one chosen today,like many other days,she opened the book to be welcomed by that so familiar story she has loved since childhoo— “hey Kusanagi!” She jumped at the sound,coming back to earth “wow, did I catch you off guard again?” Kill me... “hi, Kamishiro” She awkwardly smiled while covering her book “do you mind?” He asked her while pointing at the chair next to her “no,sit down it’s fine” he sat down with no book in hand. She stared at the empty space in front of him before deciding to keep on reading her book, she guessed she didn’t mind him knowing that she was reading a fairytale. He leaned a little closer to her,something she didn’t notice, Nene heard a low chuckle and turned around,only to see Rui way closer than she remembered him being a while ago. It’s not like Rui was super close,but Nene definitely got a good scare,which she tried to hide with a little smile. “I see you are reading the little mermaid” She looked down,wait she was reading the little mermaid, Nene jerked up and closed the book “...sorry?” Rui laughed “why are you apologizing?” Seems Nene couldn’t hide her face of shock because Rui’s eyebrow quirked up “Hey,it’s a really good story,” Nene’s alarm sounded and she stood up “well,time to go” she avoided any sort of eye contact and walked away. After putting her book back and leaving the library,all she wanted was to drop herself on the floor and die,but not at school!...of course. She walked to the theater while replaying the “conversation” on her mind. Today Nene made sure to leave a little later just to not wait on the bus stop too long. Once she got home she wolfed down her instant noodles she bought at the store. She went to sleep late,finding her mind replaying that scene over and over again.
