Chapter Text
"Well, I deserved it, but you know, that hurt, Takemitchy," Mikey complained, smiling as he lightly massaged his bruised cheek.
Draken and Mitsuya had finally reacted. Neither of them expected Takemichi to hit Mikey, they were both aware that their friend, the leader of the Tokyo Manji, could act aggressively at a moment's notice. They both stayed alert to try to stop Mikey if the case warranted it, only Draken had moved closer to the pair and placed his hand on the shoulder of the one who had been his savior, squeezing him a little.
The two of them had confirmed something, Takemichi was an idiot.
Mikey watched Draken's movements: Did he think he would do something to the boy? To be honest, it bothered him that his friend acted like that.
"Takemitchy, I think it's time for me to take you home." Then we keep in touch," Draken said. He wanted to prevent things from turning bad for Takemichi, the best thing to do was to intervene and get him away from Mikey to prevent.
"Don't mess around, Kencchi, can't you see I'm having a conversation?" He really wanted to hit Draken, did he think he would hurt someone who saved his life? But I understood why his reaction.
"I'm sorry Mikey, but it's time for Takemitchy to go, he's been here a long time and you know that can get him in trouble."
Mikey thought for a moment. Draken was right, besides, he didn't want to argue over something as simple as this, it was best to pass the situation over and pretend nothing had happened.
"Good. Take him home," he ordered earnestly this time. What luck, just when someone was interesting.
"Thanks for understanding Mikey, then I'll take it right now," Draken said more relaxed. And without waiting a minute he grabbed Takemichi's arm and pulled him out of the room.
Mikey simply watched them retreat, thinking to himself. Was it his imagination or did Kencchi have a fond interest in Takemitchy? I've never seen him behave like this with anyone since Emma died. He was happy for his friend but at the same time sad that he could forget about his sister, even though he knew that the other one had to move on and find someone but was Takemicchi good enough? He looked like a good kid but... Something bothered him. Maybe he should look into it personally, besides, he needed to relax a bit, lately he was feeling more lost than usual so he could use some healthy entertainment. It helps that he gets distracted for a while and knew his friend's possible future partner.
"Why did you do that?" Mikey spoke, still looking at the door, but now paying attention to what Mitsuya would say. It was obvious that Mitsuya wanted to see how he would react to Takemichi's negative comments.
"Well, I thought it would be fun," he laughed.
Manjirou now looked at him.
"And it was true, if it wasn't for the fact that he saved Draken in the past and that he felt he deserved the blow, he would never have allowed it.
"But you didn't and you even acted differently than I expected, it was surprising," he said with a smile on his lips. Mitsuya was happy, his friend still had some humanity inside him, there was something of the Mikey of the past. Mikey may be relaxed at times when he's with them, but he felt like he wasn't entirely sincere, like he's trying to pretend everything is fine and slowly coming to an end. Something told him that Mikey was being manipulated more and more by Kisaki and Izana.
"That was because I deserved it, otherwise I wouldn't have let him hit me..." but realistically, I didn't think that little shit would do it." Mikey raised the corners of his lips "someone so weak dared to hit me, I like his conviction"
Mitsuya watched him intently.
"Yes, he's a nice guy and I think Draken might have an interest in him."
"Oh, I think so too, that's why I'll take it upon myself to investigate Takemitchy personally," he said proudly. "Next month I'll give myself ten days off to relax and I'll look into it in that time, just don't tell Kencchi."
"I'm fine with that, have fun," he said with a slight laugh. Apparently Mikey had found something to entertain himself with for a while, he was glad of it.
Mitsuya liked to have these moments with Mikey, too bad they're not as common as they used to be. Kisaki hogged Mikey most of the time because of Toman's business.
....
Draken stood in front of his motorcycle and grabbed his helmet.
"Put it on," Draken ordered Takemichi as he extended his helmet.
"What about you?"
"I'm fine like this, but I doubt you're going to be if you don't hold on tight and don't have a helmet on."
Takemichi didn't ask questions and put on his helmet as he watched Draken get on the motorcycle and start it.
"Climb fast"
Takemichi quickly climbed in, but where did he hold onto?
"Have you been on one before?" Draken asked.
"No," Takemichi said nervously.
"Then he hugs my waist tightly" and without waiting for Takemichi to answer, he started the bike.
The blue-eyed boy was frightened, and instinctively hugged Draken's waist tightly.
Draken could only laugh as he accelerated.
...
When they arrived at Takemichi's apartment, Takemichi was surprised. Almost instantly he got off the motorcycle shakily due to the nerves of the trip.
"How did you know I lived here?"
"We did some research on you"
Takemichi was surprised: In just one night they knew where he lived? Had they researched other things?
Draken understood the question on Takemichi's face and continued to speak to answer it.
"Don't worry, it wasn't much. It was just your family background, the schools you've attended, the jobs you've had, your personal relationships, your address, and a little bit of your personal information like likes and those useless things.
Takemichi was speechless.
Draken ignored the opponent's expression and decided to go about his business. He got off the bike and pulled a backpack out of a compartment.
"Draken, you, do you belong to that organization too?" Takemichi was hesitant to ask but he was really curious, he knew the answer was obvious but he wanted to confirm it somehow.
The taller one stopped his actions and sighed.
"Yes, I'm the leader of the first division"
Takemichi hesitated to ask any further, but continued, "You don't seem to be a bad person. "And it was true, though she had beaten him yesterday, she had taken the trouble to help him. Most of all, it surprised him that he still felt gratitude for something that had happened a long time ago and that he still remembered it enough to acknowledge it.
"Because Toman wasn't like that before, and now I don't want to leave Mikey."
"And why don't they get out?"
"You're asking a lot of questions, Takemitchy."
"S-sorry"
"I know what you think. I know you have to think that everyone in Toman is a bad person, that Mikey is rubbish for being the leader and that it would be better if all the members were dead, but let me tell you, it wasn't like that. Toman had a different purpose and..."
"I know," Takemichi interrupted, "When I was a kid, I wanted to join Toman as a delinquent and I know that something must have changed, but if Mikey is still the leader, such a big change shouldn't happen."
"You don't know what you're talking about, Takemicchi. Mikey has been through a lot and this is all the fault of that, Tch. These are things that you don't need to know about, I just want to tell you that Mikey is not a bad person, he is very sensitive even if it doesn't seem like it. He's been through a lot and it's affected him. If you had the chance to meet him, you'd know what I'm talking about. The fact that he didn't hit you back is a clear example of this" even though Draken said that, internally I doubted his words a bit. I wanted to believe that if by how he behaved with all the people close to him, however, that didn't take away from all the horrible things he had done, including him.
Takemichi didn't contradict his words. I didn't really know Mikey enough to argue against him because I only knew a little bit about him from the information shared by the news.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have spoken"
"Let's leave that in the past. Now let's get down to the nitty-gritty"
The Hanagaki looked at him doubtfully.
"Takemicchi, I have no idea how to thank you for saving my life years ago, so I hope you get this." I know it will serve you," Draken handed a backpack to Takemichi to grab and in return Takemichi returned his helmet, "I'm sorry I couldn't take you out to eat, but I have to get back quickly. I don't know if we'll see each other again, but it was a pleasure to meet you. Again thank you for everything, if you ever need my help in anything I left my cell phone number on a piece of paper inside the backpack" Draken started the motorcycle and accelerated, he had to go. With a wave of his hand, Draken waved goodbye to Takemichi and the latter only shouted a goodbye as a farewell for the other to hear.
Takemichi went to his apartment, it was half past four in the afternoon. I had never had such a long day, a lot had happened in such a short time.
When he sat down on his bed, he allowed himself to see what was inside the backpack Draken gave him.
The beta ran out of breath. It was wads of money, more than he had ever seen together in his entire life. He didn't even tell it, he had to call Draken and return him. He quickly searched for the paper he had mentioned and in a short time found it.
He entered the phone number to the contacts and when he was going to call he hesitated. Draken had said that he was going to be busy with Mikey, it would be best to send a message, besides, he was probably riding the motorcycle right now.
I'm sorry Draken, I can't accept this money, you don't have to thank me in any way and if you want to do it, one day we're going to eat and that would be enough. I look forward to your reply.
After sending the message Takemichi lay down on his bed and decided to sleep for a while, he was tired and had already missed work anyway, so he might as well relax.
...
After that day he never heard from them again personally. Draken never answered his message so he decided not to use the money and return it, not that he didn't appreciate the boy's intentions but it was against what he thought to accept something so big. At that moment he did not save him with the intention of receiving something in return. He hoped that if he ever saw it again, he would have a chance to return it, in the meantime, what he did with the backpack was put it in the closet in the Christmas decoration box so that it would go unnoticed in case they tried to steal it.
Takemichi was worried about having that kind of money in his apartment, but as the days went by, he simply ignored it. His life went on as if that event in his life had never happened, in fact, if it weren't precisely for that backpack he would have doubted that it really happened and that it was just a dream he had when he fell asleep before going to work. It had been a month and a half since then.
Today again the Hanagaki had stayed later at work to cover his partner's shift, only this time it was half because she would arrive later because of a medical appointment, she really didn't want to do it due to past experience but she had insisted too much and the fact that it was only half a shift ended up convincing him.
When he got to the subway to go home it was already eight o'clock at night, even the fact that the train was so full didn't bother him because he would arrive home relatively early to rest.
Takemichi was deep in thought about what he would eat when he arrived, until he caught a sudden sweet smell of vanilla. He was known but that was not the important thing, this was the smell of an omega going into heat. Shit, if there were any unscrupulous alphas here, it was going to trigger a very serious problem. It would be worse if there were more than one.
The truth wasn't meant to intrude, not after what happened. Looking on the bright side, I didn't necessarily have to, there were a lot of people and some good people will help. Another good point is that the train should not take long to reach the next station where the authorities could be notified so that they can act appropriately. With that in mind, he decided to ignore it.
As the seconds passed, he noticed that the smell became more intense, to the point where it was not natural. It meant two things, either the omega was close to him or it was giving off a very high volume of pheromones.
Suddenly, a pitiful call reached his ears, accompanied by a gentle touch on his back. As if someone was recharging their head.
