Chapter Text
He awoke to the uncomfortable pain on his wrists. It wasn’t anything serious, at least he hoped. He was just laying there, on what seemed to be a bed, not opening his eyes, not moving, just laying down. It felt peaceful, like he had been finally removed of a burden he’d carried.
After what felt like hours, a young girl about the age of 10 burst through his door practically screaming at him to get up. He quickly opened his eyes and stumbled to his feet, “HURRY UP REGGIE! WE’RE GONNA BE LATE TO SCHOOL AND IT’LL BE YOUR FAULT!” was the last thing he heard before the girl slammed the door shut leaving him alone with his thoughts. Was his name Reggie? He then remembered what the girl had basically screamed at him to do and quickly scanned the room which consisted of space posters, Greek mythology books, and what appeared to be a “Funko Pop” with the name “Alexander Hamilton” on its box. He then saw a shirt, pants, and pair of shoes, and lastly a black jacket. He grabbed them quickly putting them on, scanning his room again he saw a mirror and picked it up, finally being able to see how he looked like. He had curly black hair, and his eyes looked tired, he also seemed to have a seemingly old scar on his left cheek, nothing big but, definitely noticeable.
Reggie had noticed his whole body seemed to be covered in scars, tiny ones yea, but still scars. He then heard a buzz, it snapped him out of the weird trance he seemed to be in trying to remember how he had gotten each scar. He glanced over and it seemed to be a phone and some headphones? With his time counted he grabbed them and shoved them in one of the many pockets his pants seemed to have.
Opening the door and stepping out he saw the young girl sitting arms crossed at the dinner table which seemed to be in the kitchen along with another woman who seemed to be in her 30’s, he seemed to remember enough about her to know she was his mother and the girl seemed to be his sister.
“Hellooooo Earth to Reggie?” Allison, who he now knew the name of waved her hand in his face getting his attention. “Huh?” Reggie murmured, “Sit down sweetie, the bowl and spoon are already set just grab the milk and cereal.” His mom told him, Reggie nodded, he knew better than to argue with his mom, he walked over to what seemed to be a pantry and grabbed a random cereal that caught his attention, he then walked over to the fridge and pulled out a jug of milk, then walking back to the table and placing both down. “What’s up with you today? You’re less talkative today.” his sister commented staring at him like that would somehow tell her what’s wrong. “Oh it’s nothing just uhm.. tired.” Reggie lied, he knew what was wrong, there was something wrong with him, he couldn’t remember his name, how old he was, what he was like, nothing. But he ignored it, pouring the cereal in the bowl then in the milk. Almost robotic, like he had this dozens of times. Once his sister was done doing the same for herself he was half way finished, he hadn’t realized how hungry he was. When he finished he just placed his bowl in the sink and waited to see he could just magically remember what he was supposed to do next. “Your going to have to walk with your sister to school today I can’t drive you born today sorry sweetie, you know how stressing work can be.” His mom explained to him, Reggie wasn’t upset, he understood, his mom sounded sincere. And this could be a good time to try and remember things by making his sister re-tell him stories from the past.
Reggie snapped back to his senses when he felt a light punch on his shoulder. He saw his sister wave at him to hurry up and he quickly put on the backpack which seemed to have just appeared next to him, following his sister outside.
He hadn’t noticed he zoned out, he seemed to do that a lot. He glanced over to his sister which seemed to be on her phone. An idea formed in his mind, why didn’t he just… check his phone and piece together who he was? Reggie turned his phone on, there was a password but the phone seemed to unlock just by scanning his face.
It took a while but he as able to find something that showed him pieces about his life. As he scrolled through photos he had saved he saw different people, he saw himself smiling and he viewed videos of what appeared to be him with his friends, though one stood out to him, in all of the posts one face seemed to keep showing up. The boy had short brown hair, brown eyes, and tanned skin. The boys name seemed to have appeared into his mind like he had never forgotten it, Elijah.
As they kept walking, neither him nor his sister talking, Reggie could hear the sound of chatter. Glancing up he saw just how massive the school looked, it was made of red brick, there was a water fountain, lots of kids either walking or sitting on the benches which were placed conveniently around the outside of the school.
After Reggie finished admiring the school he realized he didn’t know what grade he was in, his classes, nothing. He didn’t even know where anything was located. Reggie looked for any clues in his pockets, his sister seemed to notice how anxious he looked and decided to speak up and ask, “Are you alright? Your acting really weird today, did you forget your schedule again?” Reggie looked over to her and just shook his head yes, his throat was too dry to muster up a response. He saw her search her pockets before passing him a piece of paper. Reggie stared at it before he realized it was his schedule. “Lucky you I remember to get it for you. Only the first week of school and you’re already forgetting your schedule.” She sighed. “Thanks, don’t know what I’d ever do without you.” Reggie responded in a mocking tone, she cracked a smile before rambling on how she was the absolute best younger sister anyone had ever had and how he should be grateful and what not.
A loud bell could be heard and she told him goodbye and walked away to what Reggie assumed was the direction of her class. He looked down at the paper in his hand and checked his first class, room 711, now to find out where on in the world his class was located.
Reggie would’ve loved to tell you that he had successfully found his class, sat down, and remembered a thing or two, but sadly that didn’t happen, what did happen tho was he got lost. Wandering the hallway while frantically looking for a room 711. He would’ve gotten more lost if he hadn’t gotten a message on his phone, he read it and it stated, “where on earth are you???” It was sent from his “friend” Elijah, were they even friends? Reggie couldn’t remember anything about the guy. He thought I’d be best to answer and so he did, a simple “I don’t know.” He instantly got a text back which read “Just tell me the class your closets too, I’ll go find you.” Reggie scanned his surroundings, the closest class to him was 117. And that he texted, it didn’t take long for the guy, who he assumed was Elijah, to come storming up to him berating him about leaving him alone in class. Reggie could only stare at him, what was he supposed to respond with? Hey I don't remember anything! Can you tell me who I am? After about 5 minutes Elijah seemed to have calmed down and just told Reggie to follow him behind the school, apparently there was something Elijah wanted him to see.
Behind the school was a sight to see for sure, there was a skinny kid with short curly brown hair, he had a hat on which was strangle as there was literally no sun shining down on them, the kid also had a normal enough looking shirt, along with a jacket, and a pair of baggy pants. The boy looked nervous, he was pacing around anxiously waiting for something. The moment the boy turned around he seemed to relax, “Thank the Gods you both are alright!” The kid basically yelled while lunging at them hugging them in the process. “Uhm yea, so what was this big secret you had to tell us?” Elijah asked trying to get the boy off both of them. “It’s best I don’t tell you right now, if you don’t know yet it’ll be way easier to take you both to camp. My names Turner by the way.” Turner said letting go of them, “We should go, it’s not yet night time, it’s better that way.” At this point Reggie thought the boy was crazy, he kept mumbling to himself about some camp and if he should tell them already.
Suddenly Turner clapped his hands grabbing their attention, “Ok it’s time for us to leave, I’ll explain everything on the way to camp.” Reggie was about to ask what Turner was talking about but Elijah beat him to it, “What are you talking about? What’s this camp you keep mentioning?” Turner simply smiled at them before saying “I’m talking about camp half-blood and how we are going to be there.”
