Bangchan stares at his own reflection in the mirror, huffing in annoyance at the tie he couldn't fix. Daniel is sitting in a chair near him, dressed head to toe lavishly in the most up to date fashion. Jihyo had arrived not too long ago, Nayeon quickly dragging her away to get the woman dressed in nice attire. Minho and Han had both planned a grand party, no doubt going all out. The two were known to frequent fancy parties, never actually being interested in their own. Bangchan can only imagine having children changes people. He would've loved to have his own parties to show off his children, but the one omega he wished to have them with disappeared.
Being honest with himself, Bangchan had never been one for parties, but he made the effort to show his employees that he cared. His standoffish demeanor often led to people not understanding him. These thoughts started to lead Bangchan to darker topics. Sitting down, Bangchan muses about the past very briefly. In his youth, Bangchan had always been determined to marry for love. Years later, life proved to both grant him both a wish and his nightmare.
With the marriage of Bangchan and Felix so long ago, he had his dream omega and a booming business. With the merge and expansion of the two companies, Bangchan admits to himself he heavily neglected his husband. During their heats and ruts, he tried to show he cared. Taking care of Felix during the heat period times, providing him food, pleasure, and support. They never really got to talk, but he didn't think they needed to at the time. It had been assumed by him that they'd figure out a routine in time.
Apparently, this hadn't been enough for Felix as the omega left one day after 4 years, leaving divorce papers behind. Bangchan never recalls having felt so much pain. Seeing how the omega had left him right after their shared heat and rut had him spiraling. For a week Bangchan swore the omega would come back. By the second week, Bangchan hired people to find his runaway mate, to find out if he was at least safe and healthy. It wasn't until a year had passed that Bangchan had given up finding the other man. He could still feel Felix through his faded mating mark, and for Bangchan, he grew to be okay with that. After therapy, he knew he hadn't been a supportive and communitive partner.
It wasn't until Nayeon and Jihyo came out dressed in gorgeous floor length gowns that Bangchan looked up from his neatly made tie. His passing thoughts of loneliness would have to wait until after the party. Daniel gets up next to him and clings to Jihyo at her side with a beaming smile. The two have carefully coordinated outfits, matching the pair well. Bangchan and Nayeon are also dressed similarly as she would be introducing him to people throughout the night as his secretary.
With them all dressed and ready they head outside to where the driver for the evening would be. Daniel pouts playfully, having thought he would be driving. The group of four shuffle in and Nayeon immediately takes out the prepared gift from the passenger seat to hand to Bangchan.
"Tonight is a celebration of their kids. I thought it was fitting as the boss for you to get them a present so make sure you gift this to them. I found more age-appropriate gifts as per the listed age," Nayeon says, motioning to the box she placed on his lap.
Bangchan nods towards the woman, thanking her politely before turning to the driver. Nayeon is very clearly nervous, and Daniel is obviously half asleep, but he knows just the way to hype them up. "Could you perhaps turn on some music?" He asks. The driver nods, smiling. The radio comes on and it's Daniel and Nayeon who react first. The two both start singing to the music and Jihyo sat between the two laughs as Daniel starts dancing in his seat.
It isn't long until they arrive at the party held by Minho and Han. The entrance is grand with dark wooden doors surrounded by windows that let through the golden light of the inside. They're ushered inside quickly, slightly late due to the traffic.
They join in on the group forming nearby a grand staircase. Many people have on their best clothes paired quite nicely with some light jewelry that looks larger when the bright lights hit them. Bangchan notices one person out of the crowd that is dressed more casually. From the form he assumes it to be a male omega standing next to two men, a beta and alpha he assumes. His mates, Bangchan assumes. The male is dressed in a dark outfit, but the jacket he wears is a magnificent silver color that Bangchan adores. He mentally notes to ask Nayeon about it.
Turning back his attention to the staircase, Han and Minho are beaming with two children with them, all four looking nervous but definitely excited, especially the two pups. Han is slightly out of breath as he gives a speech honoring the two children officially joining their family, Minho closely at his side with an arm around Han's waist and his other arm wrapped around the male pup. Han's got the female pup in his arms and keeps her wrapped around him securely. They make great parents already.
It isn't until the speech is over that Bangchan turns to Nayeon. Daniel and Jihyo have ran off so she's the only person he finds next to him. She's looking around for them, but he watches as her face twists in horror, shock, and confusion. Worried, he turns to look in the same direction. His face must say it all as Nayeon places a hand on his shoulder and leads him away.
Halfway across the room is the same male omega from earlier in the gorgeous silver jacket with the same beta and alpha men. Except this time, he can clearly see the two mates Seungmin and Jeongin, with Jeongin's omegan brother Felix standing right next to them, laughing and smiling.
Bangchan feels his heartbeat increase. Felix is here, alive and well.
