Hi guys... so, this is not really an update per se, more like just coming out with this.
I'm going to be real, I have lost a lot of interest both in this story and One Piece as a whole. I explained this more on my tumblr but throughout the months leading up to this and especially during my time in Ramadan, I have received a lot of unsavory messages and hate from One Piece fans. They were gross, racist, and just overall horrible. A lot of them called me slurs, a lot of them wished my family death, and some even left very detailed messages about characters I love like Crocodile hurting me. Not to mention I even had strangers demanding I update fics liek this quickly or else they'd harm themselves, and frankly... no. No, bestie, I'm not responsible for that.
It's hard to summon the motivation to write for this story when I feel so disgusted with the fandom and One Piece itself. It's not your guys' faults, I'm not pointing fingers, but it is frankly exhausting to deal with that bull day in and day out. I don't want to be a part of the fandom anymore, nor do I feel any love for this creation. I really wish I could bring better news but being away from the fandom and writing for fandoms that I love really showed me how tiresome the OP community was, and I'm kinda happier to be away from it.
I'm sorry for ending this on such a low note and not being more upfront with you all, but I'm thinking of calling it quits on this story.
Feel free to imagine the last chapter as the ending, or feel free to continue and write your own ending. I'd honestly be happy to see your interpretations and what you all come up with, so please leave me a comment if you do end up wanting to write those endings.
With that being said, while I will not continue this piece- I DO NOT condone copying and reposting my work elsewhere. Continue where I left off or remake it yourself, but I do not give permission to rip my story word for word.
Thank you for taking a moment to read this. I wish I could give you all something better or say something like 'I'll get back to it eventually' but I really can't muster that kind of lie. I don't wanna be a part of this fandom anymore. It does not bring me any joy to be a part of and put all that effort into. Sorry again.
