Selene’s facepalm into paldea was…less than graceful.
“…we should have gone by train”said Hau,lifting himself up from the sand.
But another voice stood up,this time of a violet scorbunny.
“But hau…the expenses”her partner,Usagi,replied.
In response,an orange meowth looked back at his “twin”.
“Gods,Lunamon your such a cheapskate”Corronamon,Soli,said.
“Shut up!”
“You shut up”
She stood up,trying to make sense of her surroundings.
They had landed around some kind of beach,around an opening to a cave and the ocean.
“Beachside,huh”Selene remarked.
“Pretty good place all things considered”Hau said”better than a swamp”
Her and Hau stepped into the cave,leaving the two Digimon outside to argue.
“Ugh,the sun is burning my eyes,Mortal”Usagi complained.
Apparently,Usagi had taken more of a liking to Hau than to Selene as to actually use his name,leaving her with the nickname “Mortal” on Usagi’s part.
“Then close your eyes,you wouldn’t be able to appreciate it enough anyways”soli replied.
“I was asking the mortal,bastard”
“You’re a bastard”
“Most of the twelve are!”
“Then why did you say that?!?”
“Because it’s true!”
Selene decidedly ignored of them,instead exploring the crystalline cave.
The cavern was expansive,filled to the brim with what seemed to be green gems and houndour that squirmed away the moment she pulled out her trusty decidueye.
“Hey!Soli,Usagi,if you keep arguing you’re gonna get left behind,y’know.”Hau called as they started making it deeper into the grotto.
In almost a flash,the twin olympians rushed to the scene,pushing each other along the way but neither falling down.
“Cut it,both of you”She said,despite internally knowing that both of them would go back to arguing once the chance arrived.
The two gave a half hearted “sorry” before rejoining their chosen partners.
They strolled through the cave before finding a steep ledge,keeping them from passing.
“Well if that isn’t just swell”
Hau frowned”you tell Lillie and Gladion we made it back safe,me and soli are gonna try and find another way out.”
“Alright”she said,pulling out a phone too cracked for its own functioning(that still functioned anyways so,yay,she wouldn’t need to go broke on another one)
DollarStoreTogami:got here safe,you guys?
DollarStoreNaegi:us too,we’re around a town and Gladion’s talking to a guy with blue hair.
DollarStoreNaegi:according to him he hasn’t seen it for himself,but according to others he’s heard there was no fixed schedule,just random times.
DollarStoreNaegi:also apparently glaseado mountain seems pretty weird to him,we’ll have to investigate there.
DollarStoreTogami:great!
DollarStoreTogami:we’re in a cave right now but the exit is too steep for us to climb.
DollarStoreTogami:also have you seen nine?
Nine.the solgaleo that Selene had trained a few years ago to make ultra space travel easier and had used to get here.
Also,she was named after Cloud nine.she didn’t number her pokemon.(why did people always asume that).
DollarStoreNaegi:nope.haven’t seen Nebby either.i’m starting to get worried.
Great.
DollarStoreTogami:I’ll go look for them.you collect information.
DollarStoreNaegi:alright.
She put the phone down,looking around to check if anyone was near,maybe hau had found another exit?anything to not swim.
But alas,in the erie echoes of the cavern no sound came,not footsteps or even a voice.
“To far away for even an echo”Usagi affirmed.
“…so nothing close,great.any ideas?”
The moon patterned Digimon rolled her eyes before pointing at Selene’s digivice.
“I have something,If you digivolve me into Cresentmon,then I can just float you to the top!”
“And it took you till they both lef?”she mused,taking out the device.
“It took you till I said it.”
“Did you actually just come up with that or was Hau and Soli leaving the catalyst”
Usagi groaned”do it”
Selene rolled her eyes.
The little moon rabbit braced herself for the transformation,a wave of blinding light taking her over as the double warp commenced.
After a few seconds of closing her eyes,she opened them to the light having faded and Usagi,now in her Perfect form.
Usagi smiled“Great!now let’s-“
“Wait for hau and soli”she quickly shushed her partner,shutting down her plans of ditching them.
“Hmph,”Usagi pouted”Coronamon can figure something out of his own.”
Selene raised an eyebrow”and Hau?don’t you like him?”
“Not as much as I hate my brother”
She sighed,”you two have existed for thousands of years,how have you not learned how to get along”
“Godly relations,Mortal.you wouldn’t understand”the partner said,causing Selene frown”…if it’s any comfort, him and dad still don’t get along”
“It’s…some,but let’s just wait for them and focus on this.”
“Mmmhm”she hummed,taking to lying on the stone walls.
Selene glanced over at the exit,wondering what could await outside.
This was her first field expedition in the reckon squad- something that was barely needed in the first place-and it was here in the lush lands of paldea.
If she was being honest,she’s never gone outside of the confines of Kanto and alola.sure,she’d seen other places in movies and tv shows,but the glistening crystals of the place really looked a lot more beautiful up close.
She should get out more often.
Selene sat there in silence,waiting for her friend to come while sitting next to her trusty partner.
She hoped the silence would lash,she really did.
“Digivice linked”
But it didn’t.
She froze.it’d been a long time since she heard that sound,since she’d met a certain nihiligo obsessed woman to be exact.
She frantically glanced around,looking for whoever was close enough to cause the new contact.
But once a response did come about two seconds later,it was from outside the cave,from a girl she would later learn actually lived around here.
“HOLY SHIT-“

Brendan silently pried the door open.
“Uh,Michael,you awake?”brendan peeked into the bedroom,causing a slight shifting in the blankets that covered a small lump in the guest bed.
“…Am now”a voice,belonging to none other than the boy in the bed,rang
“Er-Sorry”
“No need”
He sat up,rubbing his eyes,a little orange worm setting itself next to him.
“G’morning,fufu,”he greeted,before turning to the other boy”and to you too,Brendan”
Brendan smiled back before moving next to the bedside”adjusting fast,I see”
“Well,I guess I’m just good at saying hello to new people”
“Good to know your getting used to this better than I did.wormmon appeared a bit before I went out on my journey so in a way I needed to adjust to more than a few new things.”he still remembered needing to hide him from his parents,thought to be honest just showing them would probably eased their stress a bit when he and May whipped out imperialdramon to hold off Kyogre and groudon.
He smiled,looking back fondly at the memory,even if it did cause him a lot of anxiety those four years back.
“Uh…Brendan?you alright?you’ve been staring into space a bit.”
That snapped him out of his trance,and he looked towards Michael,who was giving him a somewhat confused stare.
“Ah-uh,sorry,just that I was in thought,”Brendan assured”anyways,I just wanted to say we’re probably gonna have a meeting at our own little gather up place in a bit,and I’ll be sure to take you there so you don’t get lost-“
“The one around evergrande?”
Brendan flinched,shocked that he already knew”how do you…”
“May snuck in last night”
“But I didn’t...”
“Window”
“Oh”
“Anyways,she gave this map”he said,holding up a small folded piece of paper that revealed a…frankly kind of terrible drawing.
But within it there was an orange marker,next to ever grande that said “here!”
“We also talked a bit about our old regions a bit…I miss Orre”
“You left it yesterday”
“And what?im not allowed to be homesick in this time of need?”
Brendan felt that if he was in this situacion the word homesick wouldn’t be his first choice,but then again michael was a bit odd.
“Well at least you won’t have to worry about crime”Brendan remarked.it was true,there was,in fact,very little crime in hoenn.which only meant that the police were extra out of their element when actual crimes happened,which meant that it was to be left to fourteen year olds with weird blue things and worms to fix this.
But then again they were going against one of the most stubborn people in the region,so yeah.
“That seems…a bit like orre”Michael said”the last time Cipher struck I was left to deal with it,and the time before the guy who dealt with them was only seventeen”
Brandan snorted blandly”so it looks we’re not as different as we think,huh”
Brendan couldn’t help but let a little bit of bitterness slip into his words.
Michael laughed back,coming out a bit dry around the end.
after that a silence came over them,leaving both of them unspeaking.
“…just make sure to be ready in a few hours,alright?”
“…yeah…”
He stood up,walking out of the room.
“Thanks,Breandan.”
The brunette smiled.
“Your welcome”

She should take more walks to Nemona’s house.
Julianna instantly looked into the cave,revealing a girl with black hair,clothing befitting of a more tropical area,but also a trench coat that seemed way too hot to use in said environment.
She looked odd.
But the main distraction wasn’t her,no,it was the violet scorbunny thing next to her.
…and the fact her digivice reacted when she walked around here.
Mandy,once realizing where she’d run off to,also looked into the cave.
“…is that fucking dianamon”she said,with a weird amount of venom in her voice.
The Digimon looked towards her assumed partner”Mortal,let’s run.”
But the girl just grabbed her partners arm”no,we’ll stay here.”
Julianna stared directly at the soldier Digimon,who simply looked baffled.
“…you know them?”
“Not them,I know her”she said”used to train under Marsmon as a missimon,then a war started when some stupid Digimon threw a golden apple at Minervamon and Two other ladies and said it was for-“
“But how did you meet her?”
“Shut up”
Mandy rolled her eyes“Got her ass kicked by….someone,I guess,but it was with her own bow so it was extra embarrassing!”
“Shut up!”
“She wasn’t even a fighter Digimon!”
“SHUT UP!”
“But she does look different-“
“I SAID SHUT UP”
At this point,the scorbunny Digimon(dianamon?) was floating in front of Mandy,as if fully ready to attack her for sharing embarrassing…war stories?
She glanced at Mori,who frankly looked a bit terrified at the fact Mandy was looking smugly at who Julianna assumed was a known powerful Digimon.
“Try me”the she said,grinning brightly.
And then Mori looked even more terrified.
“Hey,uh,not yet”julianna but in”i know that nobody’s here and all,but maybe we can wait till a little later so that I can get some backround on her?”
“Easy”Mandy smirked”dianamon,Olympus twelve,data,god man,deep savers and nature spirits”
She smirked and readied up her digivice”now let’s get this-“
“H-hey!wait!”
The voice came from inside the cave,the girl who was-just a second ago- next to dianamon.
“Eh?”julianna saw the girl trying to frantically climb the wall of rock that was the cavern”oh right,tamer”
She took out Miraidon and climbed down with the Pokémon’s help,looking at the girl directly.
She was about five inches taller than her,looking only a bit older than Arven and a bit more tired too.
She seemed…familiar.
“Sorry for that,it’s easy to get carried away,y’know”Julianna smiled.
“I…who exactly are you?”she girl asked,somewhat exasperated.
“Ah!names Juli!…or Julianna Leslie if you wanna be formal”
The girl examined her for a few minutes before cautiously extending her hand.
“Selene Mochizuki”
…oh.
So that’s why she felt so familiar.
“Wait…”Mori said”like the alola champion?”
The girl froze”erm,yeah”
Julianna grinned,taking out her pokeballs.
Her eyes widened”wait you’re gonna-“
“miss Selene Mochizuki”she said”I challenge you to a-“
“…Selene?”

Hau was used to walking into weird situations,especially involving either Selene or their partners.
But seeing a girl excitedly holding up a pokeball at her while Usagi looked like she was arguing with what seemed to be a commandramon was…weird.
“…Selene?”
the girls glanced at him,Selene looking just as baffled as he was.
“Oh hey!so this must be the friend Geeta mentioned,huh”the girl said.
She looked only about fourteen,long brown hair swirling behind her back and seemingly crystalline freckles that glistened and seemingly glowed.
Next to her was a creature(pokemon,maybe?she already seemed to have a partner) with a mostly white body and blue butterfree wings.
…Wait did she just mention Geeta?
“What’s your name?do you have Pokémon?I should get Nemona-“
“Uh…who are you?”he asked,only being ignored.
Suddenly,and somewhat loud sound came from his…digivice?
“Digivice linked”
That confirmed it,she did have a partner.
He looked back down at the girl,who held what he assumed to be her digivice(or was it a bracelet?) and looked back at him.
“Hau akana,huh”she said somewhat dryly,staring right at him.
“…that’s me,and you said you wanted a battle,right?”
Her grin came back as she took a pokeball back out of her bag.
“But uh…we’re kinda lost here,so could you help us get out?”
Her smile fell”ah”
She whistled,a giant lizard coming to her side.
“You can use him”she said,the previous dryness coming back.
“Hey!no need to be sad,we can have a battle after we get a hold of our surroundings!”he said.
The grin returned once again.
“Double battle,six vs six”she grinned.
He grinned back“Got it”

The sound of the elevator coming to a stop rang in Ken’s head as the sound of steps started nearing him.
He looked up from his chair,face directly meeting that of his time travel partner.
“We’re in trouble”
Ken sighed,petting the rockruff on his lap”scale it,one to ten”
“Eight”
“…dammit”he laid the dog pokemon on the floor and stood up”what did you find?”
“Who did I find,long story short a blonde guy asked me about pink sky’s or something and long story short he’s investigating it with his sister and friends.”
“Pink sky?I’ve never seen one.”
“Yeah of course you haven’t-er,what I mean is that long story short,I think the time travel caused this”Rei said.
“Wait…but-oh,wait”Ken cut himself off”since we aren’t…we didn’t….oh arceus”
“Do you think it’s causing something?”
Ken shrugged”I don’t know,but right now we apparently caused some sort of time disaster and…wait,did those folks happen to look like government people?”
“….Kinda?maybe?I don’t really know what government people look like but they didn’t really look like they couldn’t be government people”he muttered.
“…shit,”he blurted out”they’re after us”
“Yes,and why exactly is that of concern!”
“Rei,the government is shady as fuck”he said”if we tell them anything we’ll probably get locked up so that we can’t snitch about it to anyone!we’ll….we’ll never see our families again…”
He’d never see his family again.
Everything he’d worked for in vain…or maybe they’d notice his status and…no…he couldn’t face them like this.
Rei seemed to get what he was saying,his face becoming pale at the mention of his family.
“So we can’t let them find out anything.”
“Tch,all we need to do is just not let them find us so they can’t stop us.”
“Great….”
They both stood there for a few seconds as a catty Digimon walked up to the both of them,neither noticing.
“So you’re both finished freaking out?”until he opened his mouth.
They both jumped.
“Ah-MeiMei?”
He rolled his eyes”you both forgot about me,didn’t you?”
He sat on the table,gently swinging his legs like a child,and giving both Ken and Rei a judging look.
“I’m pretty sure you haven’t asked miss Katy about this place,huh
Rei looked to the side,as if ignoring his partner.
“What did she say?”asked Ken,mostly since he knew nothing about this area except for the fact that there were crystals and a lab.
“The place is off limits to almost everyone,anybody who wants to get on here needs permission from the government,it usually takes months,or even years.”
“Yes,the same government that’s investigating us”Rei replied.
“Exactly!so they’ll never expect it to come from this place.they'll think it’s from somewhere else since they wouldn’t know Ken is able to hack into the entrance,much less get this machines to work,and that’s if they even know about it”
“So all we need to do is not let them know we’re here?”
“Yep”
Ken grinned and turned to Rei,who was gladly scratching his partners ears.
“A bit of lies won’t hurt,right,jacket thief?”
“Well then my fellow headphone thief,sometimes there are necessary evils to be made.”
Rei turned back to MeiMei”thanks”
“Yourwelcome,it’s hard being an evil genius,y’know?”
He chuckled“Yeah,yeah,evil genius”
Ken smiled at the interaction until a few barks started coming from bellow him,a tiny rock riff scratching at his legs.
“Hey,don’t be bummed”Ken assured”you can be an evil genius too,buddy”
A slightly more cheery bark came from rockruff.
“See?that’s the spirit!”

“Glaseado,huh.”Julianna pondered”I haven’t been up there in a while,could be what’s causing it.lots of ghost pokemon up in that place.”
“But how did ghosts cause a breach in the universe,it needs to be something stronger…”Selene said.
Currently,the three sat in Julianna’s home.long story short nemona was managing something at school and couldn’t come until a while after.
“Eh,I dunno.i’m much more interested in other things”Julianna replied,holding Rei’s digivice”I found this by the road the other day.i don’t know who “Rei Itsuki” is but if it was there then they must be somewhere in paldea.”
Selene gently took the device,her and Hau seemingly inspecting it.
“This is…”
“Some weird digivice,”Julianna said,unaware of the resemblance”it reminds me of yours a bit,actually”
Selene continued to stare right at it.
“It has…it’s in the form of…”
“Arceus”Hau followed.
Selene took a look over to Dianamon,who was arguing about….something with Apollomon(or so Mandy called him) that she could barely make out.
(Actually she was pretty sure she’d heard the phrase “exotic butters” in the conversation but oh well)
“Hey,Usagi,could you check this for me?”selene asked gently.to her tamers words,the little scorbunny floated towards her trainer to peek at the device,her eyes widening.
“…where the fuck did you get this?”
“Road by my friend’s house”
The Digimon took the digivice and stared at it for a few seconds”Arceus made this”
“Yeah,not too hard to figure out”
“Apollo,you bastard!get over here!”
“Whatever did I do this time?”
“Look!”she held up the device,the same expression as her creeping onto his face.
“That’s…but he said he would intervene…not after…”
“…uh,what’s going on?”
They all turned to Mandy.
Apollomon seemingly readied to open his mouth but Dianamon shushed him.
“Don’t”she said before turning towards the tamers”we need to discuss this in private”
The two scurried off to Julianna’s room,little whispers being heard but nothing distinguishable.
“…And there goes that conversation”
The three sat in silence as the remaining partners continued playing.
“Well,”Julianna said”the only other place I can imagine is worth going to is area zero,but you’ll need permission”
“Area zero?”Selene asked.
“The great crater”she continued”the most treacherous and ruthless place here in paldea…you’ll need the permission of a champion to get there”She smirked slyly”a champion like me”
The other two looked at each other in confusion,then turning back to her.
“…So let me re-introduce myself,hi nice to meet you I have champion rank and permission to do whatever I want-I can show you the certificate-and I have access to area zero because I beat a robot in a fight once-no,I’m not telling you anything else.”
They continued staring.
“…I’m serious.I literally have a certificate from Geeta that says I can do whatever I want as long as it’s not anything illegal.”

“Listen,I know you might be hesitant,but me and my friends are some of the few people who have access to that crater and if anything fishy is going on anywhere, in there is my main suspect.”she said.
The two turned back to each other.
“…is it alright if we talk in private?”
She rolled her eyes.
“…yes”

Selene pulled Hau out of the house.
“…so do we take up her offer?”Hau asked.
“We don’t have much else to do,so yeah”she replied.
They both stared at each other,as if in quiet agreement.
“Rei itsuki…I could’ve sworn I heard that name before”Selene said.
“And whoever he is,he must be connected to the digital world.”
She looked over at her friend.
“How much do you bet he’s involved in this”
“You’re asking as if there’s a doubt”
She sighed,taking out her phone.
