Chapter Text
Do you know how cold it is in the dark?
That like water through the rocks
Wind in a forest, is the rapids through the trees
And the eco, singing, cut
Of killing, breaking song
That lingers, freezing into ice
That scars the earth
That cracks the stones that all traces may be hidden
Of our footprints. Of our bones.
Ice not snow, for snow is stopped
By trees that hide the light
Of dusk and dawn, yet hopeless skies
And star of hope we will never see
For only monsters hunt us in the dark
And whether nameless or
Red, Scared, (well made…) named
They will find only the remains
Of one last lullaby
That, to break the cold of starless night,
We, the children, sing
