Chapter Text
It hurts, his head hurts. Why does this guy keep pulling his hair? What if his hair was damaged, that was one of the things Yoichi liked about him.
"Damn brat, move your feet!" The old man in front of him shouted in anger, his ladder held firmly in his hair. dirty nails dug in, making scratches on the skin of his head but the boy didn't move, his heels firmly planted on the hard concrete. he knew there would be many scratches there later, well... he could already feel the exposed skin but he didn't care.
"Shit brat, you asked for this!" The boy raised his head, teeth clenched against the hiss of pain from how his scalp was being pulled harder. He saw the old man pull a glass bottle from one of the trash cans beside them, lifting it high-
"Kai!!!"
The boy's eyes widened, as the twinkle of light in his previously void-filled eyes exploded. He turned his head almost instantly, witnessing a boy who looked about the same age as him, running towards him.
How did he get here- He was unable to finish his thought as the newcomer pushed him hard-.
The boy watched, still in the effects of the push, as the Bottle hit the back of the newcomer's head.
His eyes widened in shock and fear.
Yoichi...
The boy muttered.
Yoichi's hazy eyes blinked at him. The boy was a little confused when suddenly those sea-blue eyes widened in panic. He was unable to process anything when Yoichi suddenly grabbed his T-shirt right in front of his chest and pulled it forward forcefully.
In between his falls, the boy took the time to look back.
He watched with wide eyes, as the other boy, his savior, his sun, and everything he could ask for in his dismal life, rolled at high speed down the stairs that he had not realized were behind him- before coming to a stop with a loud thud.
The boy stared with perfectly round eyes. Fear, regret, guilt, all nested into one.
Scared scared SCAREDSCAREDSCAREDSCARE-
The boy slowly rose from his position on the ground. He hesitantly approached the stairs. The last rung disappeared from his sight enough to tell him how high the stairs were.
The boy stared in terror, frozen rigidly in place. His breathing was hoarse and rough, his eyes widened wide, the bright twinkle that had previously appeared, had completely disappeared, swallowed up in endless fear.
he had to move, he had to move to check on Yoichi, he had to make sure he was okay...
But he couldn't move, the boy was too scared of the possibility of whatever he would see because whatever it was, it couldn't possibly be good.
"Oi-oichi...?"
"Yo-ich..."
"YOICHI!!!"
Kaiser opened his eyes breathlessly, quickly getting up from his sleep. His roommate looked at him with worry and rushed to his side.
"Kaiser, are you alright!? "Ness, his roommate asked worriedly, holding his right by his bicep to try to give him support, which Kaiser immediately brushed off roughly.
"Get away!" Kaiser growled, his vision blurring.
Ness reflexively took a few steps back, then quickly apologized. "I'm sorry."
"If you want to apologize, why don't you go out and get me some water instead of standing around like an idiot?"
Ness obediently ran out of the room.
Kaiser sighed, trying to calm his mind. he covered his face with both hands.
How long would this punishment last?
How long would he be buried in this hell...?
Kaiser gritted his teeth.
Please... Please free me from this.
Please...
Kaiser gripped the roots of his hair hard, his brows furrowed in pain, he bent his knees.
Please...
Yoichi...
