Chapter Text
“Where to begin…”
“Well, you could start by sitting down next to me. The way you’re standing there makes it either seem like you don’t trust me or you’re trying to make a tough decision.”
Riddle’s face flushed, but he nodded, sitting at the foot of the bed. Quite far from Epel, who was nearer to the pillow than anything.
Epel didn’t care though, he was quite honestly ecstatic. Riddle Rosehearts, the boy who he’d kissed not even three hours ago, was sitting on his bed.
It seemed like Riddle had realized that he was sitting quite far away, and scooted closer to Epel, around the middle of the bed before he began talking again.
“So, as I was saying…”
And there Riddle went. Epel tried to listen, but he was simply too enamored with Riddle to even process a single word.
Epel stared as Riddle spoke, paying close attention to how his mouth and body moved when he talks. Though, he found himself focusing the most on Riddle’s lips. Even if that kiss before was just a quick peck, Epel couldn’t help but long for more. He just hoped that Riddle wasn’t asking him anything.
But of course, conversations require both parties speaking and paying attention to the other.
“Epel.”
Epel shook his head, snapping out of his thoughts.
“What? What happened?”
“Were you even listening to a word I was saying?”
Epel contemplated lying, but he could never lie to that face. That beautiful face.
“Nah- I mean- no… I’m sorry, I was distracted.”
“Oh? What was distracting you?”
“You want my answer?”
Riddle nodded.
“You really do?”
“Yes, Epel.”
“Fine. It was you. You distracted me.”
Riddle seemed confused, tilting his head slightly.
“I was distracting you, from me? How is that possible?”
“I’m going to be honest here, I have no idea.”
“Ah… May I continue what I was saying?”
“Sure…”
“I can skip to the most important part, if you’d like?”
As Epel nodded, he realized that Riddle seemed much closer than before, almost as if he’d scooted closer.
“Alright. The main reason that I wanted to come back here was to tell you…”
Riddle took a deep breath, Epel’s eyes piercing him.
“That I’m in love… with you.”
Epel’s face lit up.
“Really? You’re serious?”
“Yes, I’ve begun realizing recently that I find you on my mind more often than not… and that kiss sparked something inside of me. I wanted to see if I had interpreted the kiss correctly and-“
Epel couldn’t contain his emotions anymore, he flung his arms around Riddle’s shoulders, kissing him. Riddle was caught off guard, almost falling back, but he soon leaned into the kiss, wrapping his arms around Epel’s waist gently.
