Guess I Didn’t Quite Think It Through

Chapter 3

Chapter Text

Kiyoomi was very nervous to meet Osamu, he’s heard so much about the man. Luckily it all went smoothly. Osamu was kinder than Atsumu made him out to be, and they did get along, especially when it came to poking fun at Atsumu. They had some good laughs and Atsumu couldn’t be happier with how everything went down.

Osamu ended up leaving close to midnight, leaving Atsumu and Kiyoomi alone. Atsumu, put away the glasses they used for a variety of different drinks. He had bought a drink mixer and decided to play bartender for the night, letting the other two try his concoctions.

“Thank you,” Atsumu sang as he spun Kiyoomi around.

Kiyoomi smiled, “For what?”

“For just, being so damn amazing,” Atsumu hummed as he twirled the man into his arms to the song. It was getting dark out, the only light illuminating them in the apartment was the kitchen lights. They danced and sang along to the songs as they cleaned, Kiyoomi loved Atsumu’s voice; it was velvety, smooth, very pleasing to the ear. He had a certain cadence to his voice that was vaguely familiar but something he couldn’t put his finger on.

“I want to introduce you to my volleyball team sometime soon,” Kiyoomi brought up naturally. Atsumu hummed, he knew the team would clock him for who he is immediately so he had been avoiding going to games or watching practices. Kiyoomi had talked about the team's obsession with the singer. He thought it was funny getting the inside scoop of what his boyfriend’s teammates thought about him and how they had reacted when he mentioned the team in an interview.

“I would love that,” Atsumu smiled widely.

Kiyoomi was getting ready for a gym day with the team when he heard of the singer again. It’s been a while since he had heard anything about him. He assumed his team stopped talking about the news about him when he took a break and subsequently stopped getting new stuff from him.

“Did you guys see his new interview?” Hinata brought up when a song came on their speaker. Kiyoomi was half listening as he changed his clothes.

“I’ve seen a couple clips! I can’t believe he basically came out,” Bokuto said, “I didn’t think I could like him more!”

Kiyoomi’s ears perked up slightly. He might not care much for pop culture but he was always impressed when people in the line light chose to be open about their sexuality. It was a big thing to admit to, especially in this kind of social economy.

“Oh my god, right?! And the reason he went on hiatus??” Hinata seemed so fond over the fact, it really captured his attention. He turned to them all with a raised brow.

“What happened?” He asked. It was the first time he’s ever really engaged with the topic.

“Ohhh Sakusa is curious about him now,” Hinata sang, pulling his shirt over his head, “Toro Toshiro came out in an interview! The singer we’re all obsessed with,” he clarified. Kiyoomi knew this so he nodded, “he said he found a partner and wanted to make sure he didn’t fuck it up so he went on hiatus. He even said how his partner was going through some family stuff so he wanted to give him his full attention, isn’t that like, relationship goals?!”

Kiyoomi shrugged, “Yeah I guess so,” he did think it was kinda sweet of him to do such a thing.

“Sakusa,” Inunaki said with a mischievous smile, “Speaking of partners, you never told us if you ever found someone,”

“Oh,” Kiyoomi looked away sheepishly, “I guess I can say I have,” he shrugged. Trying to play it nonchalantly. The dressing room sparked up with excitement for him, “it’s not that big of a deal!” Kiyoomi tried to hush them all, “He wants to come see a game soon so maybe you’ll see him soon…”

The team whooped in excitement, “Tell us about him!”

He rolled his eyes, lacing up his shoes, “I don’t know where to start… He’s charming, super handsome, he’s got bleached blonde hair, hazel eyes…” he shrugged not really knowing what to say.

“What does he do for work?” Bokuto asked.

“Uh well, he does composition for music, models a bit?”

“You’re dating a model and musician?” Inunaki raised a brow.

“I mean yeah I guess? He shows me his work sometimes, he writes music for other artists…”

Everyone seemed confused, absorbing all this information, “Do we know any of his music?”

“What kind of modelling does he do?”

“What’s his name?”

“Sakusa barely knows any musicians, how would he know who his boyfriends music goes to?” Inunaki retorted.

Kiyoomi blushed as he thought about it all. It’s true he didn’t really know who his boyfriend wrote music for. Suddenly he felt like a bad boyfriend for not caring much about something his boyfriend loves doing–something he’s passionate about.

“I–I guess I never really asked?”

“What’s his name?” Hinata took out his phone to look up his name.

“Miya Atsumu,” he shrugged.

Hinata looked up the name but wielded no answer. He raised his brows, “Are you sure he writes music? Usually their discography would be online if that’s the name he uses for his music… I also don’t see any models under that name?”

Kiyoomi seemed confused as he walked over to Hinata and took the phone from him. He scrolled through the results, confused by the lack of, well, anything. He knew Atsumu had social media, he’s seen the apps on his Home Screen before. Not a profile under that name was showing up.

Kiyoomi’s eyebrows furrowed, the blonde was active on social media, he was very sure about that, “Maybe he uses a fake name. I know he works with his brother, writing and composing and all that,” he handed Hinata back his phone. They asked him what the brothers name was, “Miya Osamu,” he responded.

The same thing happened when Hinata looked up his twin. The orange haired man frowned, “Are you sure? I mean… I feel like we should’ve found something about him…”

Kiyoomi started to feel uneasy, has Atsumu been lying to him this whole time? Does he really write music? Does he really model? What else does Kiyoomi not know?

“I… Well, I know that’s his name… I've seen his ID,” he said firmly, “I don’t know why he would lie about that…”

Bokuto chimed in, curious when he said he had a brother, “Wouldn’t it be funny if Omi’s dating some famous person and just has no clue,”

The team perked up in chuckles, “I wouldn’t put it past him. Dude doesn’t know any famous person,” Inunaki added.

Kiyoomi frowned, “I don’t know why he would keep that from me. He knows I don’t care about famous people,”

Hinata seemed deep in thought before he snuck over to Bokuto and whispered something to the taller man. Bokuto’s eyes widened, seeming to put something together as the younger man said something Kiyoomi couldn’t hear.

“Holy shit,” Bokuto whispered, bursting into laughter.

Kiyoomi frowned at the secrecy, “Whatever. I’m going to go, I wanna beat my PR today,” he said, throwing a towel over his shoulder to go to the gym filled with weights.

Kiyoomi was listening to his own music for the day. He had his earphones in, focused on lifting his weights, and trying not to think too hard about the current situation surrounding his boyfriend. He didn’t really understand everything that was going on but for the first time in his relationship he was worried that Atsumu was keeping something from him. It made him feel weird.

As he was listening to a song that his music app was showing him he heard a riff that sounded familiar. The singer's voice sounded almost too similar to that of his boyfriend. He pulled out his phone from his pocket and looked at the name of the artist.

Toro Toshiro

He shrugged, maybe he was just mistaken. Maybe he just recognized the song from something he heard before–something his teammates put on before a game. It was a good song. The man had amazing vocals and the lyrics felt so raw and real despite it being an upbeat and fun song.

He finished off his work out, hopping onto the treadmill to cool down before doing some finishing stretches. He was thinking about what he was going to ask Atsumu when he saw him. He didn’t exactly have much of a plan of attack when he walked up to the blonde’s door, knocking loudly to let him know he was there before opening it with a key he was given not too long ago.

Atsumu was listening to music in his kitchen as he made lunch, “Omi-Omi!” He said joyfully. Kiyoomi smiled lightly as he was pulled into a welcoming hug, “Just on time! I made us some of your favourites!” He said, plating him some food.

“Thank you,” He said thankfully. He was starving. He sat down, letting Atsumu talk about his day, seeing Osamu and the twins' friend, Suna.

“How was yer day?” he asked back

“Good. I was so close to beating my PR,” He said, earning little claps in response. He rolled his eyes, “I told my team about you today,” He said, seeming nonchalant.

“Oh yeah?” Atsumu seemed a bit antsy at that point. Kiyoomi nodded, “What did they say?”

“Well they were asking me about you. Asking what you did for work, what you were like…” Atsumu looked at his food with a hum. “It was a little embarrassing telling them you wrote music but they couldn’t find any of your work…”

Atsumu choked a bit on his food, “Oh?” he asked, feigning dumb.

Kiyoomi raised a brow, “You should show me some of your stuff,”

Atsumu cleared his throat, “Yeah, course,” He pulled out his phone and tapped a few things. The song on the speaker changed, it was a slower song, a woman’s voice came from the speaker. She had a beautiful voice, “This is the song I told you about a while ago, when ‘Samu and I met up with the artist and ‘Samu didn’t know who she was,”

Kiyoomi hummed and listened to the song. It was nice, he didn't think it would be something he would listen to on his heavy rotation but the lyrics were nice, and the beat complemented her voice.

“It’s a pretty song,” Kiyoomi added. Atsumu flushed red and hummed, “What else have you done? Anything I would know?”

Atsumu thought for a second before hesitating, “I guess you might know this…” He played a song.

The song started and Kiyoomi immediately recognized it, “I was listening to this today at the gym,”

Atsumu seemed embarrassed, “Yeah, I worked on a lot of this guy’s music,”

“My team is obsessed with this guy. Have you talked to him before?” Atsumu was a dark shade of red, Kiyoomi thought his blush was adorable but he was a bit confused as to why he was reacting in such a way.

“Yeah, I’ve talked to him quite a lot,” his voice sounded a bit higher pitched than usual. He cleared his throat again a bit, “Um, he really likes your volleyball team,”

Kiyoomi squinted at him, “Does he know you’re dating one of their players?”

“Mhmm,” He nodded, “I didn’t say who, of course. Not without telling you,” he clarified.

“I don’t mind. I heard a bit about him today from my team, apparently he came out?” Atsumu shifted uncomfortably and nodded. He didn’t have much to say. He changed the song to some other artist though, “Well, if you’re close enough to him you should offer bringing him to a game of ours, I know my team would be starstruck,”

“Yeah… I can extend the invite,”

Kiyoomi looked at him with a raised eyebrow, “Let me know what he says. You should send him a text,”

Atsumu nodded and used his phone to type something out, “Sent,” He said, raising his turned off phone screen towards Kiyoomi. He raised an eyebrow but said nothing. Finally he changed the topic.

The next day Kiyoomi went to practice with some news to tell the team, “I got Atsumu to invite that Toro Toshiro guy to one of our games,” he said casually. The team erupted in questions and excitement, “He said he’s written a lot of the guy’s music,”

The team went quiet as they took in the information, “I thought–” Bokuto started but was quickly cut off by Shoyo.

“That’s so cool Kiyoomi! We’re excited to meet him! And your boyfriend of course,”

Kiyoomi nodded, curious as to what the look that Shoyo shot Bokuto was but ignored it, he finished getting ready and left the dressing room.

“Shoyo?” Bokuto asked in a confused tone.

The orange haired man turned to him, his eyes wide and excited, “Dude. Kiyoomi’s boyfriend has got to be Toro Toshiro,”

“Wait, why do you say that?” Meian asked, feeling a little out of the loop.

“Toro Toshiro writes all his music–with the help of his brother of course but he’s always prided himself on his work being his own,”

Meian seemed to clue in, “Oh,” his eyes widened, “Oh, what the fuck,”

“Dude… No fucking way Sakusa is dating one of the biggest popstars and not have a single clue,” Inunaki bursted into a fit of laughs, “Only him would this shit happen to, holy shit,”

The team all bursted into tears at the irony, “Oh my god, dude,” Shoyo calmed down. He pulled out his phone and opened the singer's instagram, “This is the man Kiyoomio is smitten with?” He passed the phone around to everyone in the room, all of them scrolling through his account.

“Damn, well, no one can say he doesn’t have good taste,” Inunaki pipped in, handing the phone back to the shorter man.

“I can’t believe we’re going to meet Toro Toshiro! Or, I guess his name is Miya Atsumu?” Hinata said excitedly, bouncing up and down with a childlike glee.

“Boys! On the court now! What are you all waiting for?!” Coach Foster cut the conversation short. Everyone left the changing room and started warming up for their practice.

No one brought up the topic again for the rest of the practice. Kiyoomi was a little suspicious of his teammates' reaction to everything but quickly was able to brush it off.

When he got to Atsumu’s apartment he entered and saw the man bopping his head to the beat he was creating on his laptop, Osamu was beside him on the couch pointing at something on the screen, papers scattered along the table. They all had writing and notes scattered across it, the other twin was holding a guitar, seeming to have just been playing it.

“Hey,” Kiyoomi greeted as he kicked off his shoes.

Atsumu paused the song he was working on, turning his head to greet the man, “Hey, baby,” He smiled. Kiyoomi could see Osamu grimace at the pet name and he laughed.

“What are you two up to?”

“Just a bit of work,” Atsumu closed the laptop and stood up to greet him.

Osamu clicked his tongue and reopened the laptop, connecting the headphones so he could continue, “Hey Kiyoomi,” the twin greeted before putting on the headphones.

Osamu seemed distracted by whatever he was working on so Atsumu and Kiyoomi sat at the kitchen table, “So, my next game is in a couple days, did you want to invite Toro Toshiro to it? Or are you just going to come by yourself this time?” He played with Atsumu’s hand which was placed on his knee.

“Um,”

Osamu must have overheard through his headphones because he took them off, “What?”

Atsumu turned to him hastily, “Nothing that concerns you, scrub,” Osamu raised his eyebrows before shaking his head and turning away, “Um, anyway. Yeah I can ask him. Where’s the game?”

Kiyoomi gave him the details and Atsumu pulled out his phone for what Kiyoomi assumed was to relay the information to the singer.

“I have to go do some groceries,” Kiyoomi mentioned. Atsumu said goodbye, Osamu offered him a wave as he left the apartment.

Osamu was staring holes into the back of Atsumu’s head as he closed the front door behind the volleyball player, “So, what the fuck was that about?”

He raised a brow as Atsumu walked back over to the couch, “What?” He played dumb, taking his seat next to him.

Osamu hit him on the back of his head, “Dude, you’re exposing yourself to the team before telling your boyfriend who the fuck you are?”

“I panicked!” He threw his hands up in defence, “I don’t… It’s hard, okay!? I don’t know what I’m doing!” he groaned, falling back onto the couch, defeated.

“Yer such a dumbass,” Osamu said simply, “Just tell him. You have a perfect entry now,”

“I’m scared, ‘Samu… What if he doesn’t want to date me anymore? What if he finds the fact I’ve lied this whole time as a manipulative and shitty thing?”

Osamu sighed, his shoulders relaxed, “You love him, yeah?” Atsumu nodded quickly, “He loves you too. The fact you hid it for so long might cause some distrust but ultimately if you’re honest with him about everything… He should understand, just tell him why you did, come clean. Everything you said in that interview about him was real. I understand why you hid it to some degree but he does deserve to know the truth, ‘Tsumu,”

“I know, fuck. Should I just… Let the team know first?”

Osamu furrowed his eyebrows, “What? You gonna text them letting them know the situation?”

“They’ve seen the interview so,”

Osamu sighed exasperatedly, “I can’t tell you what to do man, figure your shit out,” He turned back to the laptop, “Anyway, I think for this verse we should change the key,” He said, snapping back into the composer rather than the brother.

They worked on the song some more before realizing they were making the newest single. It was going to be awesome.

The next couple days Atsumu was panicking about what he was going to do. He ran out of time when he realized Kiyoomi was already at his door to pick him up for the game. He ran out to the car, his hoodie over his head as he ducked from the rain and hopped into the passenger seat, “Toro not with you?” Kiyoomi asked, confused, he thought the singer was going to catch a ride with them.

“Oh. Uh, he’s gonna meet us there, might be late I think,” He lied through his teeth. Kiyoomi looked at him with a curious expression but he didn’t question it any further.

“You two can come to the dressing room after the game,” Kiyoomi said as he parked the car, “I don’t want them all freaking out in public,” Kiyoomi chuckled.

“Yeah, ‘course,” Atsumu nodded, “the game doesn’t start for a while, right?” Kiyoomi nodded as he opened his door, “Can I chill in here for a while before going in?”

Kiyoomi shrugged and tossed him the keys, “Lock up before coming in,” He tossed the keys to Atsumu. He nodded in agreement. He looked at the car keys in his hands and started to ponder his next moves.

As Atsumu sat in the car he started to feel uneasy about the whole situation again. Not only did he agree to meet his partner’s teammates, he also was going to break this news to his boyfriend basically in public. What if Kiyoomi feels humiliated that he didn’t come clean about it all before?

It was too late to back out, he was already here, sitting in the parking lot, waiting for the game to play. Even if he told Kiyoomi that ‘Toro Toshiro’ couldn’t make it he would look like a complete dick not showing up as his boyfriend. Kiyoomi wanted to let his teammates meet him–as Miya Atsumu–so it was inevitable they’d find out. He should’ve come clean before all this happened. Does he call Osamu, ask him to come and pretend that Osamu is Toro? No… the team likes Toro, they’d see through it all…

It was ten minutes to the beginning of the game and Atsumu couldn’t think about any way around it. He would just have to face the music.

He left the car, hat on, sunglasses and sweater shielding him from the outside world. His paranoia from being seen was quite prevalent. He knew a lot of his fans started watching his boyfriends team so he wouldn’t be surprised if people recognized him.

He entered the venue, showing his ticket to the front security and made his way to the seat he was assigned. He had front seat tickets but the lack of people at the back of the venu seemed a bit more appealing. It was further from where the camera would pan too and he wasn’t looking to be shown during the breaks.

The game was fun watching in person. He’s never seen such a high level volleyball game in person, it was intense. The spikes and serves all looked so powerful and fast he was blown away by the athleticism.

MSBY had won two of the first sets. The teams had been sent to the change room for what Atsumu assumed was a pep talk or break before the commencement of the third set. If they won this one they would win the game.

Atsumu was scrolling through social media when he came across an account that posted updates about him. It was a post that was uploaded a few minutes ago, a photo of him, his sunglasses off, leaning forward, watching the game intensely. He groaned as he read the caption stating where he was and what exactly he was watching.

There were several replies to the post, a few people excitedly mentioning that they were also at the game and could see him. He felt a wave of unease knowing that someone might be watching him right now.

[Kiyoomi]: Hey. I saw you aren’t in the seats I got you? Everything okay?

He received the text as the coordinators of the game had taken fans from the stand and were playing some competitions on the court.

[Atsumu]: Yeah, all good! Toro felt unsure about being so close to the game incase fans saw! Haha.

[Kiyoomi]: Oh, okay. I told security you’d be coming to the dressing room after the game

He proceeded to tell Atsumu the directions to the dressing rooms. The blonde responded with thanks and told him good luck on the last set. With that, the break came to an end and both teams reentered the court and got ready for the third set.

During the third set Atsumu had a couple people walk up to him. It was a group of three girls and their mother.

“Uh, excuse me?” He heard one of the girls say next to him.

His head turned over to the group and he smiled politely, “Hi there,”

“Um, we’re big fans, we were wondering if we could get a picture with you?” Another girl said, nervously fidgeting with her phone.

“Of course,” He said. He liked talking to fans, normally he would prefer a simple conversation, maybe a signing of something because he doesn’t always enjoy having a photo taken when he clearly didn’t dress up well in hopes that no one would really recognize him but oh well. These girls were younger so he wasn’t the best at really making conversations with his younger audience, liking to talk to the fans older and more his age group.

He stood up but before they could take the picture he heard the announcer say that Kiyoomi was up to serve. His head whipped around to the court, “Sorry girls,” He said quickly, “Do you mind if we take one after Ki–Sakusa finishes his serves?” He smiled a bit awkwardly, “He’s my friend,”

“Oh! Yeah that’s fine. He’s one of these girls favourite’s too!” The mother butted in to explain.

He smiled as he thought about people being fans of his boyfriend, the fond, proud part of him rushed over him. He offered the empty seats next to him for the fans and they all watched and cheered as Kiyoomi got two ace’s back to back. The third serve was picked up into an intense rally. The team was able to make a couple risky saves allowing Bokuto to slam it down in a clear spike. The four of them cheered as Kiyoomi got the ball back for another serve.

Atsumu watched his little warm up with a smile, bouncing the ball, spinning it in his hands before hitting the serve into the top tape of the net. It toppled to the other team's side, one of the athletes on the other side dived for it but shanked it. The crowd erupted into cheers, chanting Sakusa’s name as he got ready for his fifth serve.

The fifth serve led into a rally ending in yet another win from them. The score now had MSBY in the lead by three points. Kiyoomi had a serious look on his face as he took the ball into his hands once again. Atsumu loved the serious, competitive look he held, it was hot, he admitted.

After Kiyoomi’s serving run, the other team finally got the ball back. Atsumu turned to his fans, “Alright, thank you for your patience,” He chuckled. He took a couple pictures for the fans, a serious one, a silly one and one with the game playing in the back. A part of him really liked the last as he thought about the fact they have Kiyoomi in the background.

He thanked the little group for their support and told them to go cheer on MSBY. They all thanked him and left back to their own seats. He felt a warmth in his chest, thankful for everything and happy to be here, in a stadium where his love was also receiving love for his talent.

The game ended, MSBY winning the third set, going over the typical 25 points, winning with the score being 28-26. His stomach started swirling when he thought about what was going to happen next. He was going to meet his boyfriend's teammates and come clean about his identity. He hoped the win would keep Kiyoomi in a good mood despite the news he was about to drop.

The team was doing some cool down stretches on the court as Atsumu made his way to the dressing room.

Coach Foster was standing outside the dressing room, on his phone. Kiyoomi had talked a bit about him so he greeted the man, “Hi there, I’m a friend of Sakusa Kiyoomi,”

Coach Foster looked up, his eyebrows raised, “Yes, I was told a friend would be coming by… However I was informed there would be two of you?”

Atsumu chuckled awkwardly, “Yeah… How much did Sakusa tell ya?”

“His friend would be bringing a popstar,” He squinted at Atsumu, “I’ve seen your face somewhere, right?”

“Yeah you might have… My name is Miya Atsumu–I’m Sakusa’s friend… He doesn’t know that I’m also…” He looked around awkwardly, “‘Toro Toshiro’, if you’ve heard that name… before,” He said with a tense chuckle.

“Oh. Right. My son has talked about you before. Well, go on in. They should be done in a few minutes,”

Atsumu bowed and entered the dressing room. He looked around at all the lockers and saw the names labelling people's spaces. He found Kiyoomi’s and decided to sit down and go on his phone as he waited.

He saw a post made by one of the girls he had taken a photo with. It basically recounted the interaction, talking about how ‘cute’ it was of him to want to watch Sakusa’s serving. He chuckled and debated if he should like it or not. He never really knew how people would react when he liked fan’s posts. He wants to be more social with his fans on these apps but at the same time he likes just being able to lurk.

Before he could do any of the debated he heard the door open and loud chattering from the team. His heart started pounding as he stood up to greet them all.

Hinata, the orange haired man was the first to spot him. He froze in the doorway, Bokuto bumped into him, confused by the frozen man before he looked up and spotted what had Shoyo stuck in his tracks.

“Oh my god,” Bokuto said.

Kiyoomi pushed past them and walked over to Atsumu, a bright smile on his face as he pulled him into a hug. Atsumu chuckled, hugging him back, “You played amazing,” He said quietly, his eyes closed as he melted into the hug, not caring for the sweat he felt through his clothes.

Atsumu could hear the team walking into the dressing room, everyone was quiet as they had their moment. Soon, Kiyoomi pulled back, “Where’s the other guy?”

Inunaki spoke up, “Is that a joke?” he said dumbfounded.

Atsumu laughed with an unsure head scratch.

Kiyoomi looked at Inunaki with a confused look. He noticed the whole team staring at them in disbelief.

“What?” he asked, not catching on right away.

“Um, surprise?” Atsumu said with a slight wince as Kiyoomi turned back to him quickly.

“Wait, what? No way,” Kiyoomi’s eyes were wide as he looked Atsumu up and down. The blonde’s heart was racing as he looked for words to say.

Before either of them could say anything, Shoyo piped up, “Kiyo! How could you keep this from us? Toro–or, I mean… Miya? I love your work! You’re such an inspiration!” The shorter man made his way up to them offering a hand to shake.

Atsumu chuckled and shook his hand, “Hey man, good to finally meet you, I’ve heard alot,”

“Oh god. All good things I hope! This is so exciting we all love your stuff! We were listening to your songs to pump up for the game!”

This caused the rest of the team to crowd him and say hi, introducing themselves and talking about what their favourite songs are, the way they appreciated him coming out and how brave it was of him, etc, etc.

Kiyoomi watched this all on the sidelines, the gears in his mind running as all the points started to add up.

“Can we take a team photo? This is so cool!” Bokuto said as he pulled out his phone.

Atsumu shrugged, “Yeah sure, I’m not in my best outfit here…”

“You should wear Kiyoomi’s spare jersey!”

Atsumu looked over to his boyfriend who wore a skeptical look. Atsumu’s heart dropped, oh god does Kiyoomi hate him for this?

Kiyoomi turned to open his locker and pulled out his spare jersey. He took a hold of Atsumu’s arm, pulling him off to the cubicle in the dressing room.

Atsumu followed him into the bathroom and watched as Kiyoomi locked the door and gave the blonde the jersey. Neither of them said anything as Atsumu nervously changed out of his current clothes, pulling on the jersey. When he was done changing his anxiety must’ve been apparent because Kiyoomi’s face softened, “You look really hot in my jersey,” He traced the blonde’s bicep.

Atsumu gulped, “Omi… I’m sorr–”

Kiyoomi shook his head, “You’re such a loser,”

“Wait? What… Are you mad?”

Kiyoomi rolled his eyes sarcastically, “I’m not mad. I was starting to get a hint that you might be famous but… Damn. I didn’t think I was this out of touch…”

Atsumu grabbed his hands, his thumb rubbing over the tops of his hands, “You don’t… See me differently, do you?”

Kiyoomi squeezed his hands back, “Do you want me to?” Atsumu quickly shook his head, “Then, no. You’re the same loser I fell in love with. You had your reasons to keep it from me. I feel kinda bad I didn’t realize…”

“Don’t feel bad–”

“Let’s go take that picture. I wanna get home and learn this new side of you. You really know how to keep me interested, don’t you?” Kiyoomi raised a brow with a soft smile.

Atsumu felt a sigh of relief exit him as Kiyoomi pulled him out of the cubicle. They all posed for a few different photos, one of which had Atsumu kissing the side of Kiyoomi’s cheek, the cutest smile blooming on the volleyball player's lips.

“So, Kiyoomi,” Bokuto walked up to him as the player was changing, Atsumu was busy chatting with Shoyo. Kiyoomi looked over at his teammate, “So, you really didn’t know?” Kiyoomi sighed and confirmed, “That’s so crazy. When you started to describe him Hinata had a hunch,”

“I know,” He groaned, “I don’t know why but I thought that I already saw a picture of ‘Toro’ somewhere so I thought it would be impossible for Atsumu to be the singer. So even when I was suspicious of him being famous, I didn’t think he would be well, him,”

Kiyoomi sat down as he watched both Hinata and Atsumu speak together with a sort of excitement that made everything click into place.

He loved everything about the Atsumu he already knew. He loved his team, he valued their opinions, he knew he would love everything about this new part of his boyfriend. If some of the most important people in his life already adored one version of him, he knew he chose right–even if the unease of what this might mean going forward seemed to float around his mind, he knew it would be alright.
