Chapter Text

{Joel POV}
Oh! Um, oh, Hello! Welcome to Hermitcraft season ten! Erm, it’s really good to have you all here, and we have some, um, some new people here. Should I? Should I announce those people? Should I point in their general direction?”

Joel tried to hide his nerves as the hermits all turned to him in somewhat unison. He offered a nervous smile, easing slightly when he saw Skizz in a similar situation. They were all stood around a lava lake for some reason, every single hermit in a new place to start fresh.

He laughed slightly at the sight of Skizz using his wings to try and peer over the hermits that surrounded him, going up and down as he waved. Joel grinned, waving back.

“Yeah, they’re just on completely separate ends. Oh that’s just great.” Mumbo said with a laugh from his left.

They stood about halfway from him to Skizz, holding a sunflower in their hand that caused them to be chosen to greet everyone. He was watching them continue to speak when a shriek to his left made him jump, looking around frantically only to find that Joe, the Juppet, was on fire .

He let out a yelp as he backed away, watching them run off to the nearest water source with a bunch of people in tow. He let out an airy laugh of surprise as he followed, thinking back to the game Grian had came up with for some unknown prize.

This was sure to be something.

He dodged arrows and explosions, fought of zombies and spiders, and made sure to look out for the other hermits. He’d never been caving before, but there was a big group of them. So he didn’t have much to fear, using his heightened hearing to listen for creepers and lava.

He heard them all laugh and joke, taking risks and finding treasure. These hermits were crazy, but he supposed he was a hermit as well.

Joel sat atop his little shack, watching they clouds form different shapes as he took a moment of peace, which he didn’t think he’d have. He may as well just have a list of new things today. He was in a place he never thought he’d be, surrounded by people he probably would’ve never met, doing things he could’ve only ever dreamed of.

He heard the whoosh and a light thump of someone behind him, only smiling contently as Skizz sat down by his side. He leaned on their shoulder as they wrapped a wing around him. Y’know, maybe he could edit that list actually.

He was in a place he never thought he’d be, surrounded by people he probably would’ve never met, doing things he could’ve only ever dreamed of, and he was side by side with one of his best friends under the setting sun.

He watched the sky fade to pinks and oranges as the sun sunk closer to the horizon. He closed his eyes as he let himself enjoy the moment.

And now, he was glad he’d never have to ask when he’d see the sun again.

Notes:

Thank you all for joining me on this semi-short journey of 24 chapters! I didn’t think I’d ever manage that much, but here we are!

This chapter is short, but it’s a peaceful end to their journey to see the sun.

Hope you enjoyed!

P.S i felt so weird posting this chapter because I knew it was the last one. Is that normal? I wouldn’t know but is it?

Notes:

Keep in mind that this is a fixation turned actual fic that I managed to write in like 3 days, so don’t get your hopes up for anything great here.
