Chapter 5: Never letting go

Summary:

Gojo remembers why he loves (name) so much.

Notes:

Okay, this chapter is a bit confusing. (・・ ) ?

The first part is about the mental state (name) was in when they just started dating,
the second part is about how Gojo views the current state of their relationship.

This is written in Gojo his pov. ( ̄▽ ̄)

Chapter Text

The silence was deafening, making it feel like the whole house was cold. (name) her fingers tapped on her mug, her eyes half closed. The mug felt hot, tea inside of it. She couldn’t bring it upon herself to take a sip, though. She felt miserable. Her eyes had bags under them, deep, dark ones. The roots of her hair were getting greasy, and her house looked like she hadn’t cleaned in weeks.

That was the state Gojo found her in when he showed up to her house unannounced.

It made sense, even when (name) acted sassy and confident, he could always see something was wrong. She always had this distant look in her eyes, she always seemed to space off to another world whenever the silent was longer then 5 seconds. You couldn’t see it in her physical state, but mentally she looked drained.

He was able to sense that the moment he first laid eyes on her in that coffee shop. The way she sat there, her clothes looking like she was on top of the world, but the way eyes studied the book, the way she treated the waiters. It was all fake, and that intrigued Gojo.

He had asked for her first name, searched her up on Instagram and followed her. After about a week of being left on delivered, she texted back. They texted more and more, and went on a few dates.

Then he decided to go by her place, and found her like a mess.

He knew this was what her inner emotions were, but he never suspected it was this bad.

(name) needed help, badly.

And he stepped in and saved her.

She would be forever thankful of him, he was the only one that stayed with her even trough her worst. He would be the only one she felt save by. He would be the only one to see her in this way.

And he would always love her.

That night was the beginning of something pure, at least that was what Gojo thought.

His eyes went over her messy house, her own eyes focused on the mug she was holding, poor thing didn’t even notice the male in her house.

He didn’t speak, didn’t judge.

A long, pale hand stroked (name) her hair. She flinched, but eased up over when she felt that it was Gojo his hand. She didn’t have the energy to talk, to move. He knew it.

He saw her close her eyes, and his hand guided her head to his shoulder. He stayed up, not daring to sleep while she slept.

In that moment, Gojo realized that she was already his, even if she didn’t realize this.

She would forever be his.
-----------------------------------
About 2 years later he was here, she was mad. But for some reason she didn’t leave.

It pained him to not explain to her what was going on. Why he left. Why his work is so important.

He was protecting her from the world he lived in. The jujutsu world.

Knowing her, she would most likely never leave the house again if she knew.

He couldn’t have that. His little love has already suffered enough. She wouldn’t have to worry about curses and sorcerers if she never knew they existed.

He thought she wouldn’t accept his kiss, that she would push him away. He was wrong. Maybe there was another chance. Maybe he would be able to keep her all for himself.

She was asleep. Of course she was. Mentally she was drained, exhausted. He had left her for 2 months, but he was back now.

She didn’t need to know he was always secretly checking up on her.
He knew she had been working in a convenience store on the corner of the street. He knew her friends would stay the night at least 4 times a week. He knew she spent most of her evenings sobbing in their bed. He knew she still wore the hoodies he owned. He knew she still hasn’t thrown any of his belongings out.

He had his ways of knowing.

Obviously he still helped her. He obviously still paid for the rent, but made it so she also had to pay a quarter. She couldn’t be suspicious. He knew she didn’t know about him paying, he always took care of money. She didn’t even know how expensive their rent really was. She didn’t know Gojo his real income.

But he was back, she could quit her job again.

Gojo knew it was wrong, but in a way he kept her from just leaving. He was her financial income. He shared all his money with her. Without him, she would have nothing. She had no money saved, so when she did leave, she couldn’t rent a house.

It was selfish, but he would go to any length to keep her as his. She was too precious for this world, she was too naïve to go out on her own. She would always need someone to guide her. Gojo happily accepted this role.

But it seemed he took it too far this time. He messed up. He left without saying anything. He could have made up a excuse, say he was on a business trip, but he didn’t know if he would really return. It was better to say nothing about it and then come back hoping she would have it in her to forgive him.

It was all complete again.

She was stubborn, but Gojo saw her restraints cracking. The wall she build to protect herself was gone the moment she laid eyes on him again. Why would she cuddle to him otherwise? Why would she kiss him back otherwise?

He read her diary, he always does. He knew she wanted out. But that wouldn’t happen. He relied on her, and she relied on him. They were hopeless, even when they both left, they would come crawling back to each other.

Because their relationship was the only sense of consistency they had.
They were both broken people in their own way. (name) just had less trouble admitting it. She was perfection. She knew she had flaws, and acknowledged it, but she also looked at her positive traits. That was what made her perfect. She was so raw of emotions, she was honest, she was mature.

Gojo could never let her go. He would forever regret it.

And he knew she thought about it the same.

Notes:

Sorry that there was no real plot development, but Gojo and (name) really needed some inside view of their relationship so you guys understand why (name) doesnt leave. ♡ ( ̄З ̄)
