Chapter Text

My body felt weightless and atrociously heavy all at the same time. I had no idea what was going on, but I did know I was falling- or more like, being pulled through something. The area surrounding me felt like a blinding neon tunnel that made me feel sick to my stomach. I thrashed around inside the tunnel, my body tickling and aching all at once. I couldn't help but yell as I fell; My head feeling like it was going to explode. I reached over and pulled my mask on, concealing my face completely.

I squeezed my eyes shut and just hoped to get through whatever was happening. I felt dizzy and disoriented.

Suddenly, my body was ejected. I yelped as I was thrown to the ground going who knows how fast.

My figure rolled and skidded across the cement like a rock across still water.

But finally, I came to a stop, groaning from the fresh bruises and scrapes.

God I totally rag dolled. Was the first thought that came to my mind.

Groaning, I slowly lifted my head to take in the scenery around me. But once attempting to open my eyes I couldn't help but squint from the brightness.

My arms pushed my upper body off the ground and soon enough I was sitting. Murmurs could be heard around me along with vehicle noises.

Upon opening my eyes, I gasped.

The chilly cold weather I had just been in was now replaced with an incredibly hot and muggy temperature. The people surrounding me were shocked, some fleeing while others trembled while recording. But what I did notice was that everyone was wearing summer attire. Looking up there wasn't a cloud in the sky, nor any falling snow.

I looked around in hopes to recognize where I was, but alas I couldn't really recognize the place.

I looked over my shoulder to a couple who were watching.

“Uhm, excuse me?” I said, making my way over to them. “Do you mind telling me where I...”

but before I could finish, the two booked it.

Looking down at myself I realized that my costume wasn't too welcoming as most of it was scratched and covered in dirt from the road. I pulled my mask off and wiped the sweat off my forehead.

Holy crap was it hot. I pulled off my mask, taking a quick breather.

Pondering back to my last moments with my group, I came to the theory that it was possible the villain had some type of Weather quirk…but also a teleportation quirk? It reminded me a lot of Kuroguiri but at the same time this was somehow…different. I then inspected where I had come from and saw that the portal from earlier was truly gone. I decided to look for context clues. Looking up I observed the area around me: the posters, restaurants, stores, anything for an idea of where I might be. Unfortunately, I didn't recognize anything from the buildings around me.

Then, an idea popped into my head.

“My phone!” I exclaimed.

Reaching into my pocket I pulled out my phone but my enthusiasm for the great idea quickly faded once I took its shattered screen into account. It must’ve gotten damaged in the fall. After standing around stupidly for a while I decided walking around would be best. I followed the sidewalk around the corner. There was nothing out of the ordinary- some cars still passed by, as well as some cyclists. This was definitely the more suburban side of the city though.

While walking down the sidewalk I passed a device store, which caused me to pause. In the window was a display of a new phone. The shop was advertising a new GPS system app and on the phone was a map with a pin in the middle that said: This is you.

Getting closer to the map I squinted to read through the glass- pressing my face against it.

Although the letters were small, I figured out I was currently on Awinasawa street. And if the map was right the main city seemed to be only a few blocks ahead!

But, upon analyzing the map I caught myself off guard as I read the city name.

“... Musutafu Japan.” I mumbled, my face distorting into a puzzled expression.

What?!

I looked around, a small cloak of worry starting to cover my conscience.

If I’m in Musutafu then how come, I don't recognize anything?

Turning back to the phone- an ad started playing, closing out of the map app. I groaned.

This is fine. I'll just head into the heart of town- maybe this area is new?

Looking around, the newness of this place wasn't very convincing, especially taking in the fact a lot of the buildings had cracks around the bases.

I took a deep breath before setting my mind straight and began heading in the direction towards the city. I reminded myself that Japan was huge- and it was totally possible I hadn’t been to this part before. In the end this won't matter anyways- all that matters is getting back to my group.

.

.

I stook out like a sore thumb.

My costume was long sleeved which caused a bit of attention to come my way.

Feeling uncomfortable from the side eyes and hushed whispers I reached up for my mask and pulled it down again over my face.

I had finally reached the city- and around me were apartments, buildings, and offices.

Those of which I had never seen.

Crap, looking around a bit I panicked and began to sprint along the sidewalk- looking for any indication of the Musurafu I knew. The advertisements on the sidewalks were of insurance agencies I had never heard of, such as Nexustech and DevinWireless . The screens around me were littered with shows and actors I had never seen, and the Billboards had advertisements for events and products I had never heard of. And finally, I came to a halt. My breath hitched in my throat as I stared at a screen above a building,

On It was an interview with the number one hero.

“So, Edgeshot, tell us what the Number One Hero does during the summer other than saving lives?”

I couldn't believe what I was watching. I looked around to see if anyone was fazed by this but no one batted an eye. Turning my attention back I watched as he responded,

“I devote my time to training to be the best hero I can be- but on my off days I enjoy hanging out with colleagues” The hero responded, seeming content.

.

.

.

Fear erupted in Midoriya's body.

Wasn't Endeavor the number one? The hero rankings weren't for another few months! How long has that quirk affected me for? Is this the future? How many years have passed?

Crazed thoughts spiraled in Midoriya's mind as he took in everything about this city. Fear crawled into his mind as the possibility of possibly being absent for an abundant number of years began to plague him.

But he was quickly snapped out of it by the sound of a shrill scream.

Looking to his left he saw a group of people begin to evacuate from an area as they dashed towards him, many seeming in distress, and fearful.

I’ll deal with my problems later, he thought to himself as he made his way towards the danger. The scenery around him might have changed but his Heroes license definitely didn't.

.

.

.

He pushed his way through a mound of civilians as they came at him- it was like a fish trying to swim upriver.

Eventually he broke free and ran as fast as he could toward the danger.

Coming round a corner he noticed the street was completely dead- other than the supposed Villain

Izuku stayed hidden, peeking around every once n’ a while to try and get a good look at what he was up against.

The materials swirled around a figure on the road before sticking to his skin, melting into place. It almost looked like a tornado from all the flying debris.

The villain seemed to be a man, who was burying himself with material nearby.

No matter where he was or who this Villain was, he had to keep it under wraps until the pros showed. He would figure out what was happening later. T he Villain had obviously not noticed him- and by taking in the scene around him, Midoriya noticed debris and cars sprawled all around the road making perfect hiding spots. It was settled, he was going to sneak attack. As long as he could use his air force and black whip it would all be good- keeping distance was key, especially since he didn't 100% know this guy's quirk.

.

.

.

One for all…

I crouched, readying myself to move. Green specs illuminated over my body, as my eyes glowed with power.

as I went to move a violent shock rocked me back with pain so unspeakable I couldn't help but completely curl over on the floor.

My body trembled and shook violently, and I couldn't help but loudly gasp as the pain filled my limbs. It felt like someone was scratching at my nervous system- stretching and tearing at my veins inside my body.

“What the hell...” I groaned, attempting to stand up. My ears rang, and my sight fogged.

After finding the right footing I decided to try again but this time I couldn't help but rasp out in pain as I again fell to the ground. my hands clasped on the floor beneath me. My eyes remained closed as I gasped for air, my fingers clawed at the ground looking for something to grasp onto- something to ease the pain.

Opening my eyes slightly I watched as my hands glitched- static making them move rapidly around before they were right back in place.

I pulled back in surprise, sweat forming on my face from the overbearing pain and heat.

I leaned against a wall for support, feeling incredibly weak.

Did that guy see me? I thought Is this somehow his quirk?

But before I had time to truly question it an explosion rocked the entire area- a warm wind wisped around me from the power of the blast.

I grabbed at the wall and moved to look over the corner.

Fighting in front of me were heroes- they had beaten me to it. Which was probably for the best.

The villain put up a fight, it seemed like his quirk was some type of materialistic shield- he could wrap his body with cement and bricks- anything on the block really.

Another explosion went off. My mask ears flew around from the wind's force. From what I could tell there were three heroes on the scene- each with what appeared to be some type of heat defensive quirk.

Things nearby had caught fire, making it difficult to keep my eye on the heroes, even more to make out their faces. I could distantly hear them shouting- but just by observing them briefly I could tell they had immaculate teamwork.

I watched as they worked around each other, throwing punches and powerful blasts at the villain while keeping its impact away from one another. They truly were pros.

I pulled myself back behind the wall and sighed, my body feeling better, but it seemed as though something was wrong with me- or more specifically my quirk.

I pondered on whether I should try again but just the thought of going through that pain made my body shiver.

Suddenly the yelling and shouting was louder than it was before.

“You pestering heroes won't catch me! I won't go back to Tartarus! You can't make me!”

I moved my body to take another peak around the corner and nearly lost my head as a Car came hurling towards me hitting the building I was hiding behind. I was lucky enough to have jolted out of the way in surprise. Suddenly I watched in horror as the building that had just been shielding me began to crumble apart, getting vacuumed onto the body of the Villain- growing him stronger and adding an extra layer to his body shield.

Debris flew around the villain, sending things such as glass, cement chunks, and other things to swirl around him at lightning speed.

It was a tornado of construction material, and I was in the middle of it.

The heroes seemed to be struggling as all they're quirk attacks got misdirected amongst the force of the wind the debris tornado caused.

I knew that by staying here I would just become a burden to the heroes but the chaos revolving around me made it almost impossible for me to escape this situation, especially since my quirk wasn’t activating right.

The villain ahead of me was thrashing, yelling slurs and angered words at the heroes- his temper obviously out of control. The villain leaned down; his monstrous cement covered arm reached for a car before throwing it in the direction of one of the Heroes. But the hero blocked it with a wall of ice. The sparkly blue ice impaled the car sending it backwards.

Huh, fire and ice…

The villain's voice quaked “I'm not going back!” before smashing his fists to the ground, cracking the road- the force pushed me back, making me fall over.  Dust from the surrounding materials made it hard to make anything out. I could feel pieces of rock and brick hit my body all over.

I have to get out of here!

Getting off the ground, I looked for a way out of this mess, but another shake from the ground caught me off guard- looking back I saw a bus hurdling my way. My heart dropped.

Hands grabbed me, thrashing me to the side sharply; it almost gave me whiplash.

I had somehow made it to an alley, away from where the bus had been thrown. I was slumped near a wall. Adrenaline pumped through my veins due to the near-death encounter.

I could feel my shoulder burning, looking down at it I noticed an arm wrapped around my shoulder- protectively; smoke was sizzling off the arm.

“Are you alright?” asked the heroine.

“y..yeah, I'm okay.” I confirmed. “Thankyou” she gave a quick nod. I watched her, her eyes had a piercing red color to them, and her hair was jet black and yet, I couldn't help but feel reminiscent when I looked at her.

I could see her worried expression as she divided her attention between me and her partners.

She mumbled something under her breath before she finally looked at me. She paused, looking me up and down, a spark of curiosity crossed her eyes as she went to address my costume but

an explosion sounded, causing both of us to jump. Determination came back to her face, she looked at me, hands on my shoulders.

“Stay here, wait for the pros to arrive, alright?” her words knocked me out of my head.

“What?”

“Everything will be okay!”

and with that she was off.

wait…Pros? I questioned, She's not a pro?

I watched as she ran off into the streets, but upon watching her I read the logo on the back of her hero suite.

It read: Property of U.A High School.

And for what felt like the fourth time today, my breath hitched in my throat.

I watched from the sidelines as the three eventually compromised the Villain, keeping him under control until backup arrived. I stayed where she had left me, and just observed peacefully waiting for the officials to arrive so then I could hopefully get some answers.

But my stomach was a ball of nerves.

As things started to settle, so did all the dust and smoke that clouded my clear view of them, allowing me to finally get a good look at the trio.

.

.

.

“It didn't take too much to knock off the coating around his body.” the girl said,

“It looked like more of a defense quirk than a fighting one.” Said Todoroki as he adjusted his belt, waiting for backup to arrive.

“He was all bark no bite,” said Kacchan as he patted the giant enclosure of ice that currently held the villain trapped.

“Sure, sure,” laughed the Heroine.

Izuku couldn't believe what he was seeing. In front of him were none other than Katsuki Bakugou, Shoto Todoroki, and this Girl. he should have seen it earlier to be honest- who else would have an explosion quirk?

This was beyond confusing to Izuku, not only was Kacchan acting super off- but he had never seen this girl before- and since when did U.A hero uniforms have logos on them?

He began to make his way over, wanting to confront the trio- he had so many questions, but he quickly shrank back down once police cars and pros began to spread on the scene.

.

.

.

“What do we have here?” asked the chief of police, as he made his way out of his vehicle.

“Tartarus runaway, calls himself Shirudo , also known as the Villain shield.” said another cop as he jotted down notes.

Midoriya remained watching from where he had been left, he hadn’t felt like it was the right time to come out since everyone was so busy cleaning up the mess that Villain had left.

“Alkali!” one of the cops yelled; the Hero girl from earlier turned her head- her hero name was Alkali

“Yes, sir?” she said, making her way over.

“Anything to report on the situation?”

“There weren't any injuries as far as I’m aware- although private property was damaged” she announced. “Good, at least we won't have to deal with life insurance filing after this,” the cop mumbled

“Although,” she took a step, “Next time if there's an issue and you can't get a pro on site let us know- we have in-ears for a reason.” she glared slightly, seeming almost a bit ticked.

“Look kid, it's not our fault alright?” The chief of police said, sighing.

“Your fault or not- we could have finished this a lot earlier if we were given the green light to use our quirks other than just defense.” she crossed her arms. Katsuki nodded in agreement.

“Yes, we know that” the older man mumbled, obviously stressed and tired.

“But there was an incident today down on Awinasawa street.

Izuku listened intently.

“Apparently a black hole of some sorts appeared, it created a lot of ruckus blocking the road and such.” he motioned for his assistant to hand him a folder, to which he opened and showed the three heroes.

“A Villain seemed to have been thrown out, eyewitnesses said he looked pretty beat up and disoriented and didn't cause any damage at the time, but he was last spotted walking around Musutafu square .”

Izuku winced at the cops' words. A Villain? Him? he wasn't a Villain!

right, but how were they supposed to know that?

Alkali took ahold of the folder, looking at the pictures from earlier today. She looked them over, her brow furrowing before her gaze snapped to where Izuku was.

Both of their eyes locked.

Shoot.

Notes:
