Chapter Text
Kim Dokja wasn't expecting to date a man like Yoo Joonghyuk, who he thought was quite critical and judgmental. According to what he has heard from everyone, he doesn't give a damn about anything.
However, such was not the case when he began dating him.
Kim Dokja could only see a lovely husband caring for his pleasing wife.
Yoo Joonghyuk would bring him flowers whenever Kim dokja and him met, making Kim dokja joyful every morning.
Kim Dokja also discovered that Yoo Joonghyuk can actually smile. He always smiles around Kim Dokja, indicating how he feels and how much he adores his wife.
He was glad to be able to experience love, to be loved, and to share pleasant times with his husband. He was glad he met this Yoo Joonghyuk, and he was glad he could live calmly for a moment.
He was grateful to see everyone smiling and having fun.
Kim dokja was pleased.
incredibly, incredibly happy.
But there is a problem, he should not value his delight. It's going to perish.
"There is no point in loving someone if they are going to disappear."
is what Kim Dokja heard countess Han Sooyoung say to him at a ball when they were hanging out on the terrace of the mansion where the party was being hosted.
Although the encounter was brief, the countess's statement caught him off guard.
However, it is true.
Why offer someone your trust and faith if they disappear unexpectedly?
Kim Dokja took the hidden knife from his drawer, his husband was now on a mission to keep track of various areas of the empire.
Why go to such lengths if all of your hard work was for nothing?
It was now a perfect time.
He sat down on the spotless white couch, taking one last glance at his, their room.
He then laid down and adjusted his position.
I wish he didn't love me so much.
He then took a big breath and raised the knife, his reflection on the knife caused him to reconsider, but there was nothing he could do, he had to do it. No, he must do it.
Kim Dokja closed his eyes and plunged the knife into his chest. The knife penetrated his chest, and blood flowed forth as he pushed the knife further, eliciting a cry from him.
He wanted to shout, but he couldn't risk ruining his work.
I wish he didn't care so much about me.
But oh well, it was good while it lasted.
As Kim Dokja exhaled his last breath, a floating semi-transparent blue box appeared in front of his face. Unable to keep awake, he closed his eyes and embraced the darkness that awaited him.
「 Mission completed!
Going back to the main worldline... 」
