Chapter Text
I woke up at the noise of someone knocking on my door.
S- Nurieru, I brought you food!
Shoko’s calm raised voice made me forget everything that made me feel bad.
I yawned and got up.
N- I’m going!
I walked sleepily to the door and opened it.
She had a food tray with ramen, water, and pudding.
S- I don’t know why, but teacher Yaga punched Satoru again, he complained about it during the whole dinner.
Satoru Gojo was very good at making everyone mad, which led to our teacher sometimes hitting him on the head. But Gojo is learning to control better what gets to touch him and what doesn’t, so… Why does it still happen?
Shoko left the food tray on the desk.
N- Thanks, Ieiri-san.
She side-looked at me.
I- Just Shoko is fine, you know?
I nodded and took a mental note of that.
I sat down to eat.
N- Oh, Shoko-san, please sit down if you’d like.
Shoko sat down at my bed.
S- You’re too formal, you know?
She didn’t seem very annoyed though.
N- Does it bother you?...
I started eating my ramen slowly.
S- There are worse things.
She chuckled a bit. I didn’t remember hearing her chuckle ever, my heart palpitated.
I remembered what had happened before I went to sleep, which affected my appetite, but I couldn’t just stop eating.
Shoko tilted her head.
S- Something’s wrong?
She looked at me with concern and care.
I shook my head.
N- It’s nothing, I just… Earlier I had another one of those things… The things that’ve been happening to me…
S- You should have called me!
Her concern startled me a bit.
N- I- I was with someone, don’t worry.
S- Who?
She calmed down and listened.
N- Geto- I mean, Suguru-san.
She stayed silent.
N- We went for a walk…
She nodded.
S- I see. Did he help you properly?
N- Well… Yes, but… I mean…
I couldn’t help but sigh a bit.
I looked down.
N- Gojo-san… came and pointed out that it’s nothing, I am fine after all…
S- That little piece of…
Shoko sighed and got up.
S- Don’t mind him, he’s an idiot. Though I don’t know what’s gotten to him. But he’s dragging the idiot of Suguru with him.
She crossed her arms and shook her head.
S- I really need a smoke… Please, if anything happens again, send me a message, even if you’re with someone.
I nodded.
S- Goodnight.
N- Goodnight.
She left my room and I finished eating my ramen in silence.
I grabbed the pudding and ate it while sitting in my bed, my back relaxing as my facade of polite student melted away.
I closed my eyes as I enjoyed the soft sweet taste, letting my problems fade away, just focusing on the moment.
I finished eating the pudding and I sighed, all good things end quickly.
I left it on my nightstand and started undressing to go to sleep.
I curled up inside the bedsheets and slowly fell asleep.
