Chapter Text
Kim Dokja sat on the side of the bed, head slightly dizzy as he peered at the avoidant man before him. There was an uncomfortable silence, yet Yoo Joonghyuk thought it was nice, since he's definitely not breaking this silence.
"S-so...I'm..."
"Yeah,"
There was nothing left to say. Kim Dokja stared down at his shoes biting his bottom lip and not saying anything. Uriel stood on the side, pacing slightly as she bit her nails. Han Sooyoung did nothing, sprawled over the bed and unmoving.
"It's not my fault! He's alive! Goddamnit!" Uriel started shouting, hands clenched as she glared down Yoo Joonghyuk.
Han Sooyoung sighed, rubbing her temple.
Yoo Joonghyuk's voice was shaky when he spoke, "I killed him myself! I drove my sword into him myself! How can you...".
Han Sooyoung got up, sighing again as she poured him a glass of water, "Didn't you see him? You would've seen him on your stupid livestream, right? Or are you blind?". Uriel clicked her tongue, looking around desperately.
Han Sooyoung had had enough, grabbing her by the shoulders, "How could you give us this personal scenario when you saw him die?! That stupid demon king died and he took its place and he died and..." she breathed in, trying to calm herself once more, "Why can't you let us get over it?".
"Becuase he's not dead!"
Yoo Joonghyuk grinded his teeth, "So you gave us a scenario that I was bound to fail so I would go on a goose chase to find him?". At that, Uriel looked away.
Kim Dokja looked around the tense room. It was like he was invisible.
And yet... he probably was. Afterall, he was just a creation for this scenario, meant to drive Yoo Joonghyuk mad enough so he would go with Uriel to find the real him.
Real him.
Why did that hurt so much?
"Fine! I'll end the scenario but..." her voice trailed off, suddenly becoming quite fragile, "Don't you care about him?"
Han Sooyoung turned away, while Yoo Joonghyuk looked down. It seemed Kim Dokja was the only person staring right at her. She gazed into his eyes once more, a cacophony of lights spread out like stars among darkness.
She sighed, looking upwards, before suddenly making a gesture to snap her fingers.
"Wait!" Yoo Joonghyuk shouted, his hand suddenly clutching Kim Dokja's sleeve, "I'll go with you... just... leave me for some time with Kim Dokja,".
Uriel's lips curved upwards into a gentle smile, "You have five minutes... I can't keep it on for longer than that,".
The click of fingers was heard before Uriel and Han Sooyoung were gone. There were no simulated people on the streets and no one in this world. It was just the two of them now.
There was another deep rooted silence.
Kim Dokja sighed once more, looking to face the window. He wondered how the real him was like... was he like him? They most likely looked the same right?
There was mumbling from the other side of the room and Kim Dokja turned to face the source. Yoo Joonghyuk had his face covered by his hands, a shakiness to the quiet and harsh whispers he was uttering.
Kim Dokja walked towards him, softly ghosting his hand before holding it firmly, moving it away from his face, "Go save the real me... okay? You better, you bastard". He smiled at Yoo Joonghyuk.
Yoo Joonghyuk looked at him once more, the tiredness in his eyes becoming apparent as he brought himself to smile, "I will... but there's one more thing I want to do,".
"Hm? What's that-" he was cut off by rough lips attacking his own, moving rapidly and desperately against his own lips. Yoo Joonghyuk's arms snaked around his waist, bringing him closer, wanting more and more of them to melt together.
And Kim Dokja accepted it, because this was the man he had loved, this was the man who had been with him for his own life, so he kissed back and clutched his shoulders, because this man is his salvation.
Yoo Joonghyuk clutched harder and harder, afraid that he would vanish, die once more like he did in his arms at that stupid castle.
And he did, turning into petals as the wind blew, and he tried to grab onto more and more until he was left hugging air.
He was back, back to where the apocolypse was still running, and Kim Dokja wasn't alive.
Han Sooyoung turned away, a gruffness in her voice, "You bastard... you better find him,".
He clutched his hand harder, staring intensely at the concrete, before rising upwards, a determination in his eyes, "I will,".
And he left off running towards the door, conversing with Uriel through chat messages on the way. Han Sooyoung sighed once more, shaking her head, finally turning her head towards the place where Yoo Joonghyuk once was, only to find a white lily and a red poppy in its place.
She sighed, walking off and out the door, but one thing was sure: they will find him.
-The End (thank god)-
