“Patton, you must understand that after what I say, after everything I confess, you have every right to leave as you see fit. I will sound insane, but I want you to know the truth before I go any further… I’ve already gone too far without being honest, I mean-”
“Lo.” Patton squeezes his hand reassuringly “Whatever it is, you know I’ll still love you, right?”
“Patton… I…”
“Just tell me, so we can handle your worries together!”
“The night we met, at the ball. What if I told you that wasn't just a simple coincidence?”
Patton met Logan’s eyes, encouraging him to carry on
“What if I told you no part of our connection was accidental? That when I saw you walk into the coffee shop for the first time I felt I wanted you like nothing else I’ve ever desired before. It wasn’t a craving, longing, or infatuation, but something completely new. If I told you I planned our meeting for months, the coordination of our suits, the dates and times aligning in your schedule, and Roman encouraging you. If I told you every piece of it was me, that I laid this framework and scheduled and planned everything in hopes that if you reciprocated my feelings even to a minuscule extent I’d be able to explain my longing and desires.”
Logan tried to catch his breath, the confessions spilling from his lips with a persistent flow, “You must hate me by now, think of me as a psychopath, a mad man, you must see me as a monster for the extent that I was willing to go to to ensure things worked precisely in alignment with my scheming. ‘If you fail to plan, you plan to fail’ It was all about you this entire time! Every move was calculated, every step rehearsed, because I knew I loved you back then, and I wanted to make sure it was perfect, like some sort of mastermind!”
Logan stares into Patton's eyes, and holds both of his hands softly, “I’m so sorry, Patton. I never wanted you to find out like this, but I couldn’t risk losing something that hadn’t even begun. None of it was coincidence, there was no fate, it was all my work.
Stopping his words to hear some sort of repulsion, some form of a breakup, yelling, and screaming, Logan was met with a smile.
“Patton, did you…you knew the entire time?” Logan gasps at the knowing look on his partner's face, before finding his lips crashed into Pattons.
Patton breaks the kiss and smiles.
“You’re a mastermind, Lo.”
