Chapter 7: moving day

Chapter Text

"gojo!" shoko yelled as she tried to pick up a box of silverware and plates. gojo turned around to see her struggling and laughed. "how are we going to live together if you can't handle some light silverware?" he chuckled. shoko shot him a death stare and crossed her arms. "shut up idiot." she said as she punched his arm, gojo giggled as he picked up the box and walked behind her into their shared house. they had only wanted to live together because gojo could afford a house but did not want to be lonely and shoko wanted to live away from her parents but couldn't afford to live alone. gojo said they could live together as long as she didn't bring men around everyday. in which she responded he was a dickhead.

"wanna drive to town later?" gojo asked as he brought the box inside amongst the others. shoko hummed before answering a yes. "which room are you having?" shoko questioned as she put her hands on her hips and looked around the kitchen. gojo smirked and answered, "the bigger one, obviously?" shoko laughed and said, "we'll see about that." as she ran up the stairs and towards the master bedroom at the end of the hall. gojo ran straight after her and jumped on her. "it's mine, you slut!" he yelled as he ran over her, laughing his head off as he did so. shoko grunted as she sped. "you have more bitches than i do, you whore!" she yelled she caught up. they got to the bedroom and fought. kicking, screaming, punching, apprehending until gojo eventually became victorious. shoko huffed and walked to the room opposite gojo's which wasn't much smaller but she sulked anyway.

gojo spun around in the room looking around to every nook and cranny. he ran his hand over the wall, searching for dust. when he brought his finger up to his view, he saw nothing and felt content with his decision to move here. he hummed to himself and placed his hands on his hips. he decided to plan out where everything was going to go, wanting it to be perfect and spacious so he could do anything he pleased in his room. first, he planned out where his bed was going to be and where he was going to hang all of his pictures. he found a suitable place for his massive bookshelf and smiled, nodding his head at nothing. after he was satisfied, he decided to text his usual. he knew he wouldn't get a response but it was worth a try.

should probably stop saying that, hey? you might think i'm a weirdo

although i always have been

you knew that better than anyone else though suguru.

satoru sat on the floor cross legged, with his head in his palm which was resting on his knee, texting suguru until the moving van worker called up from downstairs and asked if he was ready to move all the things upstairs, to that he yelled a yes as him and shoko went to help the poor man lug the king sized bed up the thin and painfully creaky stairs. it was brought into gojo's room and he put his hand on his hip, admiring the new addition to his room with a smirk. "nice~" he purred happily while the sleepy, brunette girl next to him stared at the bed with disregard and disgust spread across her pretty face. "must be nice to be rich hm?" she uttered as she rolled her eyes with a scoff. satoru looked at her with a shocked face and pressed a hand on his chest dramatically, staring to the sky as if there was a God watching. "i offered to buy you a bed!" he defended as he pretended to wipe a tear from his cheek. as she laughed at his sulking. "i'm joking, idiot."

all in all, it was a fun day as they moved the copious amount of furniture into each room. though, all day, satoru could not seem to stop thinking about getou suguru. he thinks he had a problem, maybe talking to the qualified doctor who now lives with him would be a good idea. but hes always been one for procrastination so he opted to talk to her another day, maybe one where he wasn't so hung up on his ex leaving him. he shook his head and lay in his bed, staring up at the ceiling with his eyes heavy. he turned over and looked to the white wall, pondering his life choices and if they were even his.

"gojo! i made ramen!" shoko called up, sounding proud of herself even though ramen is a three step process; boil water, dump ramen in, wait. it was pretty easy and wasn't tedious in the slightest so satoru laughed a bit at her pride. "coming!" he retorted, reluctantly getting out of his bed and trudging down the stairs.

he got the bottom eventually and saw shoko snuggled up on the sofa with her ramen and chopsticks in hand. she looked up to him and smiled. "yours is on the table, i got that shrimp one you like." gojo smiled and wiped an imaginary tear from his eye yet again. "all this for me, you even remembered my favourite ramen? oh shoko you shouldn't have. how will i ever repay you?" he stated mockingly as shoko glared at him. she slurped up a noodle and grunted. "i know i shouldn't have, i'm just amazing." he closed her eyes, content with her reply to gojo's mockery. yet, she could hear gojo scoff from the other side of the room. dick.

gojo took the bowl into his hands, savouring the arm sensation filling his palm. he hadn't realised how baltic it was in this house until the bowl warmed him up. he put his face over it and the aroma consumed him. it smelt like heaven and after six hours of straight heavy-lifting, shrimp ramen sounded like the thing he needed most in the world, after suguru, of course.

he slumped next to shoko on their couch, gojo had declined her offer to get a couch for them knowing it was going to tiny and decided to purchase a couch which covered half their living area. shoko had turned the tv on and they were watching sk8 infinity. "y'know reki and langa kinda remind me of you and suguru." she stated, slurping up noodles with his chopsticks. gojo thinks he felt his heart break in that moment. of course he obsessed over suguru but hearing someone else say his name after years? it hurt like hell.

once shoko had realised the weight of what she had said she put her hands over her mouth and gasped. "oh shit satoru i'm so sorry. i totally spaced." she turned to him and screwed her eyes shut, preparing for an out-burst, him leaving and never come back, like suguru did. or just straight waterworks. but, neither came. satoru just sat there and shot her a small smile. "its fine, thanks for considering my feelings but i'm okay." he was lying, of course he was lying. shoko wasn't stupid, she knew that too but she decided not to press further, thinking she had already hurt satoru enough for tonight.

shoko had finished her ramen bowl and got up to take it to the sink while satoru still loudly slurped on his. "thank you for making me dinner." he said while a msall smile on his face. shoko looked at him and gave him one back. "no problem, i'm not the best cook but i can make top ramen very good." she stated, proud of herself and looking up with his eyes closed as satoru laughed, walking up to dump his bowl beside hers in the sink. "yeah because all you have to do to make top ramen is heat up water and dump the ramen packet into it, it's not that hard, you know that right?" he assrted, giggling to himself as he ran the water and started to wash the dishes. ieiri crossed her arms and leaned against the counter smugly. "yeah, it's not that hard yet last time you made top ramen, you burnt down my kitchen." she reminisced, gojo started to retort before realising he had nothing to do to defend himself as shoko was speaking facts. h rolled his eyes and finished cleaning the dishes.

"i'm going to bed, gnight." he said as he rubbed his eyes and walked towards the stairs. "alright i'm staying down here and finishing prison break, see you tomorrow satoru." she spoke, settling herself down on the sofa covered in pillows in blankets, satoru walked as she laid over everything and switched the tv to prison break. gojo laughed to himself at the sight and walked upstairs, ready to sleep.

he trudged upstairs loudly with complete disregard for the possibility people may be sleeping but what did he care? he opened the door to his bedroom sloppily and slumped on the bed. he caught a glimpse of his cell phone on the bedside table lighting up. it was a useless notification but he grabbed the phone nonetheless. as if it were taught, he swiped quickly onto the messages app.
