Chapter Text
Yoohyeon thinks she’s been watching Minji a lot more.
Honestly, it was hard not to. Not when Minji’s hair was always slightly disheveled and begging for Yoohyeon’s hands to run through it, not when her eyes lit up with joy at such small and basic things, especially not when she shot Yoohyeon one of her signature toothy grins that proudly showed off her canines. No, it was damn near impossible to look away from such a sight.
It was also impossible to pull away. Minji always had a natural heat to her, something humans simply didn’t have. Minji was her own little fireplace, cozy and warm and perfect for cuddling. Not that fireplaces should be cuddled, but near it.
The week in the forest had passed by relatively smoothly. At first, Minji seemed a little hesitant to be as clingy as she usually was, probably still scared over how Yoohyeon would take their whole ‘mate’ situation. However, with some gentle coaxing (and plenty of ear scratches), Yoohyeon managed to get her girlfriend back to smiling as happy as ever.
That’s not to say there weren’t any changes.
For one, Minji had started to say those three very special words.
It was never when Minji was fully conscious, though. Sometimes, Minji was so sleepy and comfortable half on top of Yoohyeon, that she mumbled things in her sleep. Things that have to do with love and whatnot.
Stranger yet, Yoohyeon was never put off by it. Instead, she felt a little sad at the fact that Minji never said it fully awake. Yoohyeon adored seeing her girlfriend speak her mind, so to have this uncharacteristic version of her sweet wolf in her hands was disconcerting to say the least. Yeah, Yoohyeon might not be able to say it back with her whole chest, but she knew Minji thrived off of speaking her mind and openly showing her affection towards Yoohyeon.
God, and it’s not like she didn’t want to feel that way. It just took her some time, and Minji was giving her that. She wished she had Minji’s built-in system of love at first sniff because she’s sure she would’ve had Minji as her mate too. Too bad she had to do this the old-fashioned way.
All of this was running through her head when she heard her door open softly.
It was the day after she and Minji came back from the forest, and after going to sleep cuddling Minji closely for the past week, she found it hard to sleep tonight without her. It seemed like her wolf thought the same, and thankfully, Yoohyeon had the foresight to leave out some clothes for her girlfriend to change into.
It wasn’t long before she felt her bed dip and her arm being raised so Minji could slip under it.
The hybrid let out a content sigh as she got comfortable. She nosed at Yoohyeon’s neck for a moment, and Yoohyeon thinks she feels the ghost of a smile from where Minji’s lips brushed against her.
“Mine…” Minji whispered, so softly and reverently, Yoohyeon strained her ears to hear it. Aww, was her wolf possessive? Adorable. She tried her best not to smile. Let Minji have her secrets. Even if they were the cutest secrets in the world.
Finally, she feels Minji settle down curled closely to her with another content sigh. At least her girlfriend was doing better, still sneaking into Yoohyeon’s room at the ass crack of dawn to cuddle when she couldn’t sleep. Yoohyeon was honestly proud of Minji for willingly bringing herself close to the train.
Time to get some sleep.
***
Yoohyeon was the one to wake up first.
She immediately smiled, feeling the weight on her chest and soft furry ears against her face. She couldn’t resist the urge to bury her face into the soft fur and breathe in Minji’s woodsy scent. She felt like she was cuddling an overgrown puppy.
“Hyeon…” Minji mumbled in her sleep, letting out some soft rumbles. “Love you…”
The confession made Yoohyeon’s smile even brighter. Her girlfriend was unbelievably adorable, making it hard to resist the urge to squeeze her tight and never let go. A sweet puppy through and through.
Honestly, she wishes her feelings would hurry up and let her say those three words Minji deserved to hear, words Yoohyeon wants to put her all into. Sadly, it wasn’t meant to be yet. For now, she’ll happily hold her mate and listen to the wolf’s sleepy confessions, her chest warming every time.
Eventually, Minji woke up from the sound of the train passing by. She let out a whine and buried her face into Yoohyeon’s neck with her ears pinned back.
“S’okay, Minji,” Yoohyeon whispered into Minji’s ear, feeling her girlfriend instantly relax. She also saw Minji’s tail start wagging. Puppy.
“Hyeon,” Minji whined, rubbing her cheek against Yoohyeon’s. “Missed you.”
“You saw me yesterday.”
“Missed you.”
Yoohyeon snorted, hearing the train pass by into the distance. “You’re cute. Like a puppy.”
At that, Minji sat up straddling Yoohyeon’s waist, affronted. Finally, those ears were perked again.
“I’m not a puppy!” She complained, pouting. Well, she wasn’t helping her case.
Yoohyeon quickly sat up, bringing her face closer to Minji’s.
“But you’re so cute,” she cooed. “How about my puppy? Is that better?”
At that, Minji seemed to pause and think. Oh, she was so easy to please. Yoohyeon adored her so unbelievably much.
The human grinned widely. She pressed a kiss to Minji’s nose before falling back onto the bed.
“Wanna have a movie day, puppy?” Yoohyeon asked, not even hiding her satisfied grin.
Minji only nodded in response and draped herself over Yoohyeon again, hiding her face in her girlfriend’s neck.
Yoohyeon didn’t miss the way Minji’s tail was wagging a mile a minute, though.
***
Yoohyeon was not paying attention to the movie.
Right now, Minji’s perked ears and attentive eyes on the TV were much more interesting. Her cute head tilts, the gasps she let out, and even the complaints to Yoohyeon over her consecutive movie choices (note to self: don’t play Lion King and Bambi back to back) were so endearing to Yoohyeon. No movie was this interesting.
Plus, she just enjoyed seeing Minji be introduced to something new again. The woods didn’t really have the means to watch movies in, so Yoohyeon took it upon herself to introduce Minji to some classics.
“What’s this one about?” Minji asked, watching as Yoohyeon started to play Bolt.
“A dog,” Yoohyeon responded. “Him and his human are actors, but he thinks it’s all real. They get separated for a bit, but he does his best to get back to her.”
Minji let out a gasp. “Does he get back?”
Yoohyeon sent her a teasing grin and opened up her arms. “You’ll have to watch to find out.”
The hybrid grumbled, but scooched closer until she was comfortably cuddling Yoohyeon.
“You better not put on another sad movie,” she threatened.
Yoohyeon hummed, pressing a kiss to the top of Minji’s head.
“No promises.”
***
Minji sniffled into Yoohyeon’s shoulder as the credits rolled.
“Shh, puppy, I told you it wasn’t sad,” Yoohyeon soothed.
“Shut up.”
***
A couple hours later finds them laid across the couch, with Yoohyeon almost falling asleep from the comforting weight on top of her.
“There aren’t any dwarves in the forest,” Minji commented quietly, still paying attention to Snow White. “I would know. I live there.”
Yoohyeon hummed. “Good puppy,” she slurred, sluggishly patting Minji on the back. “Magical dwarves aren’t real.”
“You’re teasing me again.”
“You love it.”
Minji didn’t have a response for that.
***
Yoohyeon smiled fondly as she heard her girlfriend hum ‘Let It Go’ to herself.
“Did you enjoy today? I know it wasn’t much,” she asked as she placed Minji’s dinner in front of her.
Minji nodded eagerly, though her eyes didn’t stray from her plate.
“Any day with you is perfect to me,” she replied smoothly before digging in.
The human shook her head, bending down to press a kiss against Minji’s head before turning to serve herself some dinner too.
They ate in relative silence, mostly broken by Minji’s humming. Yoohyeon couldn’t keep her eyes off her girlfriend the whole time. Minji was just so cute, with her wagging tail and twitching ears.
“Do you wanna stay another night, Minji?” She couldn’t help but ask. God, she adored her girlfriend.
At that, Minji looked up, her eyes sparkling and her ears perked. “I can?”
“Of course you can,” Yoohyeon responded. “Yubin won’t mind.”
And Yubin did not, in fact, mind at all. When she came home from work, welcomed by the dinner Yoohyeon made and a hybrid curiously looking at the legos she’s built, Yubin only sighed, ate, and explained the stories behind the legos. Minji was particularly fascinated by the Star Wars ones.
“Space?!” She asked in excitement, looking up at Yubin.
Yubin hummed, scratching the back of her neck. “Yeah, kinda. Not real space, though.”
Minji nodded, but it seemed like Yubin’s explanation didn’t dampen her mood. Good. Yoohyeon would’ve had to kill her roommate if it did.
Her girlfriend also seemed a little too excited to use Yoohyeon’s soap. Probably some wolfy scenting thing. As long as she didn’t use it all up, Yoohyeon was fine with it.
“Hey,” she greeted from her bed as she saw Minji trot into the room, freshly showered and ready for bed in another one of Yoohyeon’s hoodies and sweatpants.
Minji shifted a little uncomfortably, pouting as she adjusted the hem of the sweatpants.
The human tilted her head. “You okay there?”
“Yeah, just…” she turned her hips a little to emphasize her tail. “Your pants don’t have a hole for my tail so it’s a little uncomfortable.” Her pout deepened. “But I like wearing your clothes…”
Yoohyeon blinked. That’s it?
“Just sleep without pants then,” she said nonchalantly. At this point, and after various instances of accidental nudity in the forest, Yoohyeon had stopped caring about Minji’s weird habit of undressing whenever she could. Just another thing about her girlfriend that she adored.
Minji’s ears perked, her head tilting curiously. “You sure? I know you’re respectful and stuff but I don’t want to make you uncomfortable.”
The human shrugged. “I’m past the point of caring. Plus, I want you to be comfortable.” Then she furrowed her brows. “Why didn’t you tell me sooner? I would’ve worked something out.”
At that, Minji turned sheepish. “I like wearing your clothes…” She pouted.
Yoohyeon snorted. “You’re cute.” She patted the open space next to her. “Hurry up already. I want cuddles.”
That spurred Minji into action. Quickly, Minji kicked off her pants and joined Yoohyeon under the covers. Messy, but Yoohyeon wouldn’t ruin her girlfriend’s fun.
“Hi,” Minji giggled, bumping her nose into Yoohyeon’s.
“Hi there,” Yoohyeon said softly, cupping Minji’s cheek with a small grin. “You’re so sweet, you know that?”
Her girlfriend shot her a toothy grin. “Only for you.”
Yoohyeon softened even more. Minji looked so perfect here, under the low lighting of the lamp, wearing Yoohyeon’s hoodie and smelling just like her. She couldn’t resist tugging the wolf into a slow kiss, wanting to show Minji just how much she meant to Yoohyeon.
Minji hummed into the kiss, and Yoohyeon could feel the blanket shifting from the wolf’s tail wagging. Adorable.
Now, how to speed up the process of falling in love so she could really tell Minji how much she meant to Yoohyeon?
***
Yoohyeon let out a yawn as she made her way to her first class of the day.
It had been a long night of studying. She had an exam later in the day that she most certainly was going to fail. It was her own fault, of course, choosing to spend the weekend with her girlfriend instead. She should be disappointed in herself, but Minji was a happy little drug that Yoohyeon couldn’t get enough of.
She felt her phone buzz in her pocket. Weird. Her friends were usually busy, and Minji didn’t have a phone so…
XX: [waving hello GIF]
XX: yooh!
XX: its minji!
Who thought this was a good idea?
…who gave you a phone?
XX: siyeon! :D
Ah. Figures.
Still, Yoohyeon couldn’t help but smile and shake her head fondly as she added Minji’s number into her contacts.
well hello there then
Puppy: hi!
Puppy: miss you :(
i miss you too
ill see you later though
go bite bora for me will you?
Puppy: yes!
Puppy: <3
Puppy: :D
Puppy: [waving goodbye GIF]
Yoohyeon snorted and pocketed her phone again. At least Minji got a grasp of using GIFs and emoticons. Cutie.
During class, Yoohyeon was bombarded with heart emojis and GIFs from Minji. It all made class a little more bearable, being able to look down at her phone and witness Minji’s neverending affection for her. It also made her want to leave class early so she could go kiss her girlfriend silly.
Alas, she had already slacked off on her weekend with Minji, so she had to pretend to be a good student for now.
After a grueling two hours of the professor talking about absolute nonsense, Yoohyeon finally stepped out of the door to the classroom to be immediately greeted by a happy little wolf.
“Yoohyeon!” Minji called, her grin becoming wider and her tail wagging faster as Yoohyeon approached.
“Hi there,” the human responded, taking Minji’s hand in her own and leaning in to greet her with a peck on the lips. She could kiss her girlfriend silly later when they weren’t in public or in the middle of a crowded hallway. “How’s your day been?”
Minji shot her a toothy grin. “Lookie!” She said, reaching into her pocket and pulling out her phone. An older model, but if Minji can use Yoohyeon’s phone for games and texting Siyeon just fine, then she can manage her way around her own phone.
“I know,” Yoohyeon said, gently tugging Minji along. “Tell me about it.”
Her girlfriend happily rambled about how Siyeon surprised her with a brand new phone that morning, showing her everything she could do with it. Of course, the first number Minji asked for was Yoohyeon’s, and Yoohyeon was also the first person to receive a text from Minji (which the wolf was very proud about).
“Oh! That reminds me…” Minji said, stopping them outside to pull out her phone again. Yoohyeon saw her mess around with it for a moment before Minji grinned widely and held up the camera. “Picture?”
Yoohyeon softened considerably. She nodded and smiled softly, mostly looking over the camera and at Minji’s concentrated gaze. Something so simple, and yet, Minji was putting her best efforts into it. Yoohyeon should reward her.
Minji wiggled in place happily once she took the picture, her tongue sticking out slightly as she navigated through her phone for another moment. Then she pouted, her ears falling flat as she handed Yoohyeon her phone.
“...I don’t know how to put the picture as my background,” she muttered in embarrassment.
The human snorted and came closer to show Minji what to do.
“First, you want to go into your gallery and find the photo. Then, you select the photo and press this button here. See how you now have the option to set it as your wallpaper? Press that, adjust it to how you want it to look, and there you go,” Yoohyeon calmly explained. She noted that the picture turned out just fine, and she did see how her eyes weren’t focused on the camera itself, but she’s sure Minji doesn’t care about that.
The wolf’s ears perked back up, her tail wagging in excitement. “Thank you,” she said happily, pressing a kiss to Yoohyeon’s cheek. “Now I can see you even when you’re not here.”
Sentimental little fool. Yoohyeon playfully bumped her nose into Minji’s cheek.
“Let me get a picture of you then.”
***
A couple of days later, Yoohyeon walks into her apartment to find Minji and Yubin sitting on the floor building what seems to be a miniature R2-D2 on the coffee table.
Minji’s ears perked up. “Yoohyeonie!” She sent Yoohyeon a toothy grin. “Hi! Yubinnie invited me over to build LEGOs!”
Yoohyeon shook her head as she kicked off her shoes. “Have you ever seen Star Wars?” She asked, approaching the duo and pressing a kiss between Minji’s ears before sitting next to her.
“Nope!” Still that same silly grin.
“Yubin, I thought you of all people would sit down and watch it with her,” the human commented.
Yubin shrugged, handing Minji the needed pieces for the following step. “Been building this all day. Wanted to have a proper movie day so she could pay attention.” Then she raises an eyebrow, side-eyeing Yoohyeon. “Plus, I don’t trust that she won’t be distracted with you around.”
“I’ll have you know, Minji is excellent at watching movies with, thank you very much,” Yoohyeon replied, affronted. If anything, Minji was a little too good at it, keeping her ears still and forwards while never glancing at Yoohyeon. Really, Yoohyeon wasn’t bothered by it. If anything, she appreciated being able to take mini naps for the movies she got bored by. Getting to cuddle her furry girlfriend was an exceptional bonus.
Her friend nodded in agreement. “Alright then. We can watch the first episode after this step.”
Minji tilted her head curiously, finally hopping back into the conversation. “Episode? Isn’t that for shows?”
Yubin shook her head, reaching up to scratch Minji’s ears.
“You have a lot to learn, young padawan.”
***
So one movie turned into all nine.
Honestly, Yoohyeon isn’t sure how they do it. Yeah, she was impartial to Star Wars, maybe even liked it on a good day and if she found some cute merch in a store, but nothing quite like what was happening right now.
Which was her girlfriend and her best friend recreating the battle between Darth Maul and Qui Gon Jinn. Nerds the both of them.
Yoohyeon had been invited to be Obi Wan, but she declined with the explanation that it was three in the goddamn morning and she didn't have the energy to get up and use one of Yubin’s many lightsabers in an effort to recreate a battle that she most certainly doesn't recall frame by frame.
Minji apparently doesn't either.
“No no no, he swings to the right . Your right, Minji,” Yubin corrected, showing Minji how to swing her double-sided red lightsaber. Thank goodness they had enough sense to move the coffee table out of the way. Yoohyeon would hate to see what they could do in an open space without a TV in the way.
Still, she thought as she stretched out fully on the couch and gave her girlfriend an encouraging cheer, it was nice to see two of her favorite people bonding.
And then she saw her wolf let out a loud yawn, similar to how a tired pup would. Yep, time for bed.
“Puppy,” Yoohyeon called, fighting down her own yawn. She was already resigning herself to skipping her morning class in favor of sleeping in with her girlfriend. “I'm tired.”
That certainly grabbed Minji's attention. Immediately, she stepped away from Yubin's swing, making the human stumble on her feet. That’s what she gets for trying to rough house in the middle of the night.
Minji tilted her head in concern. “Time for bed?”
Yoohyeon nodded and stood up. She held out her hand. “Come on. Say goodnight to Yubin and give her the lightsaber.”
Her girlfriend pouted, her ears falling back, but she did as told. “Goodnight, Binnie.”
Yubin also yawned, taking the lightsaber from Minji. “Goodnight. We can watch the other movies and spin-off shows another day, yeah?”
That managed to get the wolf looking better. She nodded with a wide grin before tugging Yoohyeon towards her room.
Soon enough, they found themselves under the covers, with Minji almost knocked out half on top of Yoohyeon. Yoohyeon thinks she might find it difficult to sleep without Minji acting as a weighted blanket.
She let out a soft sigh and pressed a kiss to one of Minji's ears. It earned her a small rumble and Minji's tail gently thumping against the mattress in quiet contentment.
Yeah.
Yoohyeon could see the rest of her life going like this.
***
Yoohyeon woke up differently today.
Usually, whenever Minji was let in by Yubin in the early mornings on weekends, she would try to be as quiet as possible to sneak into Yoohyeon’s bed.
Today was not one of those days.
Instead, Yoohyeon’s door hit the wall with a small bang, and Minji’s footsteps seemed heavy. Was she okay?
Yoohyeon gave her a few moments more. The thumps of clothes on the floor was at least normal, even if they did feel louder this time around.
Finally, Minji did make her way into bed, except she nearly threw herself on top of Yoohyeon. And she was boiling hot.
“Minji…” Yoohyeon murmured. “Are you sick, puppy?”
She felt Minji shake her head, nuzzling even closer. “Heat…” she whispered back.
Pause.
Immediately, Yoohyeon was wide awake.
Heats were… something she knew hybrids went through. Honestly, she wasn’t sure why she didn’t think about how Minji handled hers. Would she eat more or less? How was her temper? Should Yoohyeon let Minji make her little nest here? Should she ask Siyeon about what to do? Wait. Just ask Minji. Duh.
“What do you need, Minji?” She asked softly, running her fingers through the soft fur of Minji’s ears.
Minji let out a soft whine, shifting them both until she could straddle Yoohyeon’s hips.
Then, she slowly rolled her hips into Yoohyeon’s and let out a quiet moan.
Oh.
Alright then.
“Minji,” Yoohyeon called, dropping her hands to her girlfriend’s hips (which she realized were partially bare from Minji not wearing any pants) to hold them still. “Are you sure?”
The hybrid let out a louder whine. “N-Need you. Please, Yooh. Need m-my mate,” she breathed out, trying to roll her hips again.
Yoohyeon swallowed thickly. She’s not sure how their first time together would’ve gone, but it being because Minji was in heat was definitely not her first choice.
Plus, if Minji hadn’t even had her first kiss until she met Yoohyeon, then obviously she wouldn’t have done anything more. Fuck.
“Okay,” she agreed softly, pressing a kiss to Minji’s ear. “I’ll take care of you, Minji.”
With that, she flipped their positions, careful to not accidentally kneel on Minji’s tail, and brought their lips together in a slow and deep kiss.
She felt Minji shiver under her, the hybrid’s hands flying to hold onto the back of Yoohyeon’s shirt. Minji jerked her hips upwards into Yoohyeon’s, earning a low groan from her.
Minji broke the kiss, allowing Yoohyeon to trace Minji’s jaw and neck with her lips.
“Yooh, I’ve n-never…” she breathed out.
“I know, puppy,” Yoohyeon reassured, pressing a kiss to Minji’s pulse point. “Just tell me what you need, and I’ll give it to you.”
She felt Minji’s grip on her shirt tighten before she felt it being pulled up. Figures.
Yoohyeon pulled back, much to Minji’s disappointment, and slipped off her shirt, throwing it somewhere in the room. She’s actually kind of surprised that she isn’t all that self-conscious over this, but it’s Minji, and Minji was looking at her with all the love in the world. How could she ever overthink when she was so loved right now?
“Let’s get this off of you,” Yoohyeon whispered, tugging at Minji’s (Yoohyeon’s) hoodie.
Minji nodded and sat up to let Yoohyeon take off her hoodie. She laid back down, making grabby hands towards Yoohyeon.
Yoohyeon smiled fondly and leaned down to press a kiss to Minji’s forehead. “Hi, puppy.”
The hybrid pouted, her ears falling back. “No teasing…”
Yoohyeon snorted, pushing a strand of hair away from Minji’s hooded eyes and flushed cheeks. Has Yoohyeon ever been this wanted before? “If you need me to stop, you just have to tell me, okay?”
Her girlfriend nodded, running her hands over Yoohyeon’s shoulders. “I trust you. You’re my mate…” she trailed off, suddenly looking unsure.
“Minji,” Yoohyeon called softly. “Whatever you want to say, I want to hear. Okay?”
Minji swallowed. “I love you…”
And… yeah. Yoohyeon was still struggling a little with those three words, but that didn’t mean she didn’t care about Minji. Not in the slightest.
“And I adore you,” Yoohyeon responded, finally bringing back some brightness to her girlfriend’s eyes. “I’m your mate, Minji. I’m not going anywhere, so have a little more confidence in me, yeah?”
At that, Minji’s ears finally perked back up, and Yoohyeon could feel the older woman’s tail wagging against her knees. Somehow still unbelievably precious even during this moment.
Yoohyeon planted a soft kiss on Minji's lips. “Still good?”
Minji hummed, jerking her hips up as if she just remembered why she was here in the first place.
“Yoohyeon,” she breathed out. “Need you.”
The human nodded, sitting up to get a good look at Minji.
Muscular. Obviously. Yoohyeon has definitely felt it through Minji’s clothes when they cuddle, or has gotten glimpses of it whenever Minji unabashedly changes in front of her. Still, it was a treat to be able to see her and touch her properly. Why hadn’t Yoohyeon asked about this before? Oh well. It was happening now, and that was all that mattered.
Yoohyeon then took a glance between Minji’s legs, seeing a large wet spot on her underwear. Already? Must be her heat. Poor pup.
“Can I take this off?” She whispered, gently tugging at the hem of Minji’s underwear.
“Please…”
Without another word, Yoohyeon slipped off the garment.
Honestly, if this were any other day, any other time, she’d take her time with Minji. But, Minji was already starting to heat up even more, her breaths coming harder, and she was so unbelievably wet . Right now? Waiting was the last thing on Yoohyeon’s mind.
She chanced another look at Minji, seeing nothing but impatience in her wolf’s gaze.
Alright, she thought as she got comfortable on her stomach.
Time to dig in.

***
“Yoohyeon,” Minji whined, voice muffled by the pillow her face was buried in.
The human didn’t answer, her mouth too busy working around the base of Minji’s tail while two of her fingers were pumping slowly in and out of Minji’s pussy.
Yoohyeon knew the base of Minji’s tail was sensitive, but the loud moans and yowls that came from her girlfriend every time her teeth lightly grazed the skin definitely told Yoohyeon she was underestimating the sensitivity. Yeah, it could be from Minji being in heat, but she also knew any prolonged stimulation to the area could overstimulate the wolf.
So, over the last three days of semi-nonstop sex (really only stopped so they could eat, shower, or put on Bolt), Yoohyeon had made sure to be careful of the area. Minji was already super sensitive from her heat, so she didn’t even want to think about how the wolf’s ears and tail were.
Anyway, during one of Minji’s cooldowns, Yoohyeon was absentmindedly rubbing a hand up and down Minji’s back and trailing kisses across her shoulder blades. Said hand accidentally wandered too low and reached the base of Minji’s tail, earning a soft moan from the hybrid and her pushing back into Yoohyeon’s hand.
Obviously, Yoohyeon took it as a sign to focus on the area, gently scratching around it. She didn’t think much of it when Minji kept whimpering and jerking her hips back, just that her heat made her sensitive.
Well, she sure thought a lot about it when Minji breathed out “Hyeon, g-gonna cum” and let out a loud moan into the mattress.
Suffice to say, Yoohyeon was stunned by the realization that she had made Minji finish by simply scratching the base of her tail.
Her sweet wolf was embarrassed, of course, and then seriously overstimulated so Yoohyeon couldn’t touch her at all for a few minutes while she calmed down, but Yoohyeon made sure Minji understood that Yoohyeon found it weirdly attractive.
Which led them here, Minji on her front with her hips in the air, Yoohyeon using one hand to hold onto the wolf’s thigh and the other with two fingers inside of her, and the human’s mouth worshiping the area near Minji’s tail.
Honestly, Yoohyeon didn’t think she’d ever find herself in such an oddly niche situation, but hey, if it gets Minji going, then it gets Yoohyeon going. She would fight off Minji’s wagging tail any day if it meant her wolf could feel good.
“Puppy,” she called softly, pulling away from Minji’s tail. “You know you have to try and be quiet. It’s getting late now, and the neighbors are coming back from work.”
Minji let out another, softer whine, still muffled into the pillow. At least there were no hybrids around to hear her. Yoohyeon only prayed Minji stayed this quiet.
“Good girl,” Yoohyeon murmured, squeezing Minji’s thigh before running her hand up to wrap around Minji’s tail, still keeping a steady pace with her fingers. “Close?”
Minji groaned in response. “Yooh, please,” she almost sobbed out. Maybe she was crying from the overstimulation.
Not wanting her wolf to wait any longer, Yoohyeon gently moved Minji’s tail to one side and bent down to attend to the neglected side with her mouth.
It wasn’t the most comfortable position, not by a long shot, but by god if she wasn’t going to see this through. She was going to make sure Minji had the best orgasm of her life.
“Come for me, puppy,” she mumbled with a nip, using her thumb to circle around Minji’s clit.
With what sounded like a yowl (thank god for the pillow), Minji’s walls began to spasm around Yoohyeon’s fingers and her legs shook with pleasure.
“Yoohyeon… Yooh…” Minji almost babbled incoherently, jerking away from the human’s touch once her high had died down.
“Alright, I got you, Minji,” Yoohyeon whispered soothingly, pulling away from Minji’s tail and gently pulling out her fingers all together.
She quickly sucked her fingers clean and took the second pillow on the bed to lay it under Minji’s hips. The last thing she wanted was for something to accidentally brush between Minji’s legs and hurt her.
“Hey, puppy,” Yoohyeon said quietly, crawling up to Minji’s face, which was still buried into the pillow.
Minji slowly turned her head to face Yoohyeon. Her eyes still had the haze of her heat over them and it was obvious she had been crying from overstimulation, but she looked sleepy, sated.
Yoohyeon laid down next to Minji, keeping her hand out between them. Minji slowly brought her own up to interlock their pinkies.
“Sleepy?” The human continued, earning a nod from Minji in response. “Go to bed then.”
The wolf furrowed her brows, looking as if keeping her eyes open was an arduous task. “Dinner?”
Snorting, Yoohyeon adjusted her hand to properly hold Minji’s. “You look beat. I’ll eat whenever you wake up, okay? We can have a midnight dinner together.”
Somehow, the idea sounded wonderful. Ridiculously late to have dinner, but it was a weird week already. Nothing wrong with eating whenever they wanted after mind blowing sex.
Minji pouted, but tugged on Yoohyeon’s hand. Yoohyeon raised an eyebrow.
“Hold me,” Minji mumbled.
“You sure?” Yoohyeon double checked. “Not sensitive?”
Her girlfriend only responded with another tug.
“Alright,” Yoohyeon could only acquiesce. She got as comfortable as possible to let Minji do whatever she needed to.
Slowly, Minji adjusted herself until she was on her side and could comfortably throw an arm over Yoohyeon’s waist and lay her head on her chest. It wasn’t quite as close as Yoohyeon was used to from her cuddly wolf, but she understood that Minji’s senses were on overload.
She took a chance by placing a hand on Minji’s back. Her girlfriend shivered, but didn’t complain or pull away. Alright. She was already feeling better then. Still, Yoohyeon would avoid Minji’s ears for now.
“Love you…” Minji slurred, letting out a little rumble at the feel of Yoohyeon’s nails gently running up and down her spine.
Yoohyeon placed a kiss on Minji's forehead, feeling the moment her girlfriend fell asleep.
“I adore you too.”

“Thank you, Yoohyeonie,” Minji said softly in the doorway to the human's apartment.
Yoohyeon hummed, feeling like she ran a never ending marathon. Except the marathon was sex. Hell yeah.
“Of course,” Yoohyeon responded just as soft. “You're my mate. I'll always take care of you.”
Minji's lips formed a sunshine smile that shot right through Yoohyeon's heart. Yeah, it was impossible not to fall in love with this silly wolf. Work faster dear heart!
“And I'll take care of you. Always,” Minji murmured. She leaned in to press a soft kiss to Yoohyeon's lips. “I love you.”
The human could only soften even more, her heart nearly melting out of her chest with how mushy it’s become. She might call it the Minji Effect or something.
“I adore you too,” she mumbled in reply against Minji’s lips. She reluctantly pulled away, giving Minji a quick scratch under her chin. “You gotta go now. Otherwise, Yubin will probably die or something just as dramatic.”
The hybrid let out a loud cackle, her eyes forming crescents from her smile. “Alright. I’ll text you when I arrive back at Siyeonie’s.”
Yoohyeon nodded, and with that, Minji spun around and walked down the hall.
She sighed wistfully as she shut the door. Is this what being lovestruck is like? Perhaps. She never wanted it to end.
Thankfully, she had a lifelong mate in one Kim Minji.

Where could her wolf possibly be?
Minji wasn’t answering her phone, Siyeon was just with Yoohyeon, and she didn't think Minji would be at her apartment with Yubin after last week. Yubin would probably run out and beg Yoohyeon to convince Minji to leave.
So… somewhere on campus. Unless she made an impromptu trip back to the forest, which Yoohyeon doubts.
Well, Yoohyeon only knew of one place Minji could be.
As she approached the big tree on campus, she could see a very furry tail dangling from one of the high up branches. Oh god.
“Minji?” She called, finally spotting her girlfriend sitting on a branch and whittling away at a piece of wood. She’s not sure how campus security would feel about sharp things on campus. Like small whittling knives. Were they even allowed? Who knows.
The wolf sent Yoohyeon a toothy grin, her tail making an effort to wag despite a branch in the way.
“Yoohyeon!” She cheered, wiggling in place. On a high branch. Wiggling. Not on Yoohyeon’s watch.
“Get down here,” Yoohyeon said firmly. “I know you probably did this all the time back home, but I still stress and worry.”
Minji pouted.
“Down. Now.”
Quickly, Minji did as told, swinging her legs over a side of the branch and landing right in front of Yoohyeon. Same as that first day she got to hold Yoohyeon’s hand.
“Lookie,” Minji said, gesturing to the piece of wood in her hands. “Making it for you.”
Instantly, Yoohyeon softened. It wasn’t finished yet by what she could tell, but she thinks it might be some animal judging by the four legs and tail on it.
“I’ve got some time before class. We can sit here on the ground while you finish,” she offered. It was also the first time she got a front row seat to Minji’s woodworking talent. Hopefully, it wouldn’t be the last.
Seeing Minji’s excited little grin, she definitely thinks this might become a habit.
Once they were seated with Minji’s back to Yoohyeon’s front against the tree trunk, the hybrid quickly became engrossed in what she was doing. It was strangely hypnotizing, the soft sound of the knife carving the wood, Minji’s calloused and pretty fingers expertly whittling away. Very pretty fingers actually…
As Yoohyeon’s thoughts entered not safe for work territory, Minji obliviously kept working on her little wood carving. Her tongue was slightly sticking out in concentration, while her tail’s attempt at wagging showed her excitement. Puppy.
Finally, just before Yoohyeon had to regretfully pull away from her girlfriend to go to her crappy afternoon class, Minji proudly held up a tiny wood carving of a wolf.
“Done!” Minji cheered.
Yoohyeon absolutely melted. Of course her wolf would carve a wolf for her.
“It’s wonderful, Minji,” she said sincerely, reverently holding the little wolf. It would sit nicely on her desk as a motivator for her studying. The harder she works, the more time she could spend with her own wolf.
“I adore you,” Yoohyeon continued in a soft murmur, pressing a kiss to the base of Minji’s ear.
Minji turned her head to shoot Yoohyeon a toothy grin.
“I love you too.”

“Have I mentioned how much I hate Freud?”
Minji blinked and tilted her head, looking adorable with her criss-crossed legs and in just a sweater on Yoohyeon’s bed.
“Whatever, I'm saying it again,” Yoohyeon continued to rant, pacing back and forth in the limited space her room had. “This man has single handedly ruined my life, you know. His stupid theories and his stupid unconscious and his stupid mommy issues.”
Minji didn’t respond, still staring at Yoohyeon blankly with a dopey grin.
“What was he on when he came up with penis envy and where can I get it? Because it sounds like a dream if he can make a crazy assumption and have it in every psych textbook to come. Seriously, every goddamn semester it’s the same bullshit. And don’t even get me started on the Oedipus complex. Fucking mommy issues…”
She spun around, properly facing Minji and gearing up to go on another spiel when she realized Minji hadn’t said anything for the last… who knows how many minutes.
“Did you understand a single word I said?”
Minji’s grin widened and her tail began to wag at finally having Yoohyeon’s attention on her.
“Nope!”
Yoohyeon shook her head fondly and plopped down on her bed, just to immediately have an armful of excited wolf pup nuzzling into her neck. Guess no more pacing for her.
“Done studying?” Minji asked quietly, adjusting herself so she was properly laying on top of Yoohyeon.
Well, she was now .
Yoohyeon let out a small sigh and wrapped her arms around Minji properly.
“Just for you.”

Yoohyeon buried her face into her hands while letting out a loud groan.
Yubin was at work, and Minji had opted to visit the forest for the weekend, so Yoohyeon was all by her lonesome on this fine Saturday afternoon. At least she got to study in peace, even if she wanted to rip her hair out over reading about the same names over and over again.
Out of the corner of her eye she saw the little wooden wolf Minji made her, making her instantly relax. Study now so she can spend time with Minji when she comes back.
She let out a sharp huff and got right back into it. Do it for Minji. Do it for her mate.
Another groan. Another glance at the wolf. She's usually better than this, but something about not having Minji there on the weekend was unsettling. It didn't feel right to not have Minji by her side with her waggy tail and her toothy grins. Her hybrid warmth and her kisses and pretty voice and her joy at the simple things and how she's always made Yoohyeon feel so so loved since the moment they met. Shut up brain.
Yoohyeon's head shot up, a grin spreading across her face.
She needed Minji to come home as soon as possible.
***
Yoohyeon can’t believe she found herself here again.
This time, it was the great battle between Yubin Wan Kenobi and Minji Skywalker. As always, Yoohyeon seemed to be rooting for her now evil girlfriend or… something. Seriously, how many lightsabers did Yubin have?
Regardless, Yoohyeon let out a small sigh as she watched Minji with immeasurable fondness. She was trying to look serious like Anakin, but her tail was wagging way too fast for that. Nerd.
Still, Yoohyeon had something she wanted to say to Minji.
“Time for bed, puppy,” Yoohyeon informed, already standing up.
Minji pouted, but she knew the drill by now. She handed Yubin back her lightsaber with a soft ‘goodnight’ before taking Yoohyeon’s hand and heading towards her room.
Yoohyeon took a seat against the headboard and patted the space in front of her. “Get your brush. I know you’ll forget to brush out your fur and it’ll be impossible tomorrow.”
Her girlfriend quickly did as told, hopping on the bed with a large grin as she handed the brush to Yoohyeon.
The human shook her head fondly, but got to work on brushing out the fur on Minji’s tail. It was soothing, really. The repetitive motions of the brush and the coarseness of Minji’s fur allowed Yoohyeon’s mind to wander.
Should she say it now? Yoohyeon might like to go with the flow most of the time, but her girlfriend at least deserved a proper confession in private. Like now. But it was also three in the morning, and she didn’t want to excite her puppy too much to the point that she wouldn’t be able to sleep.
“Done,” Yoohyeon said softly, reaching over to place the brush on her nightstand.
In the blink of an eye, she had Minji straddling her lap in a tight hug. Oh. Alright.
Minji buried her nose into Yoohyeon’s neck, her tail gently thumping against the bed.
“Love you,” the hybrid mumbled through a soft rumble.
“I love you too,” Yoohyeon responded, as easy as breathing. So much for not getting her puppy excited.
A few moments passed with Minji strangely quiet, her tail still gently thumping. Did she even hear Yoohyeon?
And then she froze.
She flinched backwards to lean her forehead against Yoohyeon’s, nose to nose, making her go cross-eyed from the effort of keeping eye contact with Minji.
“Say it again?” Minji asked, her voice barely containing her excitement.
Yoohyeon sent her a soft grin. “I love you, Minji. You’re my mate. It was inevitable, and it took me a bit to get here, but you did it.”
Her girlfriend’s eyes brightened up in such a familiar way, and Yoohyeon vaguely processed her tail wagging the fastest it ever had. Cutie.
Yoohyeon was then bombarded with Minji’s kisses all over her face. She couldn’t help the loud giggles she was letting out. Is this what it was like to be in love? It definitely should’ve come to her sooner.
“Can you two shut up?!”
Both of them froze before bursting out into softer giggles. Poor Yubin.
“Sorry, Binnie!”
