Chapter Text
After receiving the guidebook and additional advice, the doctor invited the others into the room for some casual conversation—implying that they should offer encouragement to the pregnant alpha.
"Kinich!!! Congratulations!!! You're going to be... what should we call you?" said Mualani curiously.
"Hmm... I don't mind any nicknames like 'mother', 'father', and others," Kinich lowered his gaze to the small bump on his belly and slowly stroked it, "I just hope I can be a good person in between," he continued.
"You'll be a good parent, no matter what the role." Everyone in the room agreed with Kachina's statement.
"Right! And Ajaw... just be Ajaw... maybe?" Paimon speculated in a half-mocking tone.
"HEY! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!?!!!!" Ajaw protested in his pixel dragon mode.
"Thank you." Kinich smiled, the scent of fresh air spreading happily in the room.
After that, Mavuika walked forward in front of the bed Kinich was resting on, smiling sincerely as her hand landed to ruffle the alpha's hair.
"If there's anything, please call us. We'll help," she released her hand from Kinich's hair, "maybe you'll be the only one getting the privilege of having immediate help from us," she continued proudly.
Kinich was surprised by the 'gift' he got.
"How—"
"You can repay it by stay healthy, be safe for us, and your little family later." Mavuika cut him off quickly to keep Kinich's discomfort at bay.
"Focus on yourself, Ajaw and your two children, we'll take care of the rest. I promise everything will be fine," Mavuika said reassuringly.
Kinich sighed and eventually nodded as his affirmation and was rewarded with a winning smile by the Archon.
"Okay, I'm going to ask you two to stay until tomorrow afternoon. We are preparing some necessities for you, and you two must take some rest right now," Mavuika ordered after signaling the others to leave the room and she followed them after checking on both for the last time.
Leaving the pregnant alpha and the pixel dragon floating beside him staring at each other.
"Reading the guidebook should be count as a break, right?" Ajaw asked while pointing at the book on the nightstand.
Kinich shrugged his shoulders.
"Maybe."
Alpha Pregnancy Guide
a. Alpha pregnancies have a 50% failure rate (need supervision to prevent negativity) but give birth to much healthier children.
b. Pregnant alphas will not have a rut until a period of 1-2 years (from the beginning of pregnancy).
c. Alpha pregnancy symptoms are not much different from Omegas; nausea, dizziness, sensitivity, etc....
...
"...huh... that's a lot..." Ajaw complained, now leaning next to Kinich, who had fallen asleep.
Ajaw gave him a thoughtful look, then he lowered his body and tilted to face Kinich and closed his eyes as he catch-up with his mate in the dream.
There was a very embarrassing silence in the Weary Inn at midnight;
The Traveller, Mavuika, Kachina, and Mualani, who were trying to stifle their laugh, and Paimon, who successfully failed to hold her laughter and her voice was successful enough to make Ajaw feel embarrassed, so he closed his eyes with his pixel hand.
The Traveller, who still pitied Ajaw, cleared their throat for a moment and then asked, "Ahem... what does he want again??"
The pixel dragon's hilarious-sounding sigh made the Archon almost accidentally remove her hand from her mouth— almost let out the laugh she tried to hold.
Mualani and Kachina... they couldn't help but laugh, along with Paimon lying on the floor made Ajaw want to cry (really).
As embarrassed as he was, he still couldn't blame Kinich, who was in his 3rd month of pregnancy, but his hunger for something he didn't expect at all made him completely silent when the alpha explained his midnight craving.
"Grainfruit juice with a sauce of half-ripened flamegranate, topped with quenepa berries."
Isn't 'that' flamegranate contained with phlogiston?
"Well, you'll just get a pyro attack from it, nothing more," Kinich replied as he pushed Ajaw out of their house.
"Don't go home empty-handed," he continued and closed the door a little hard.
Leaving Ajaw staring dumbly at the closed house.
I was kicked out by my own mate because the kids in his stomach were asking for strange drink and i had to get it right away???????????
"Well, how about—pfft... ehm... we split up, Mualani and Kachina will look for quenepa berries, you with The Traveller and Paimon for grainfruit." Mavuika cleared her throat to clear her laugh, "I'll figure out a way to make the flamegranate safe for Kinich to consume."
Mualani, Kachina, and Paimon began to rise from the floor after listening to the Archon's orders. Then the six of them began to split up according to Mavuika's directions—finding ingredients at midnight.
Ajaw hoped Kinich would immediately accept it and let him in then cuddle up next to him and his two unborn children after this.
