Chapter Text
Wolt was pacing the orchestra room like a madman. Did his ears deceive him? Did Roy really like him back? Who else knew about this??
He decided to step out into the hallway, deducing that taking his teenage hormones out on his precious viola was probably not the greatest idea. He wanted to confront Roy, but part of him was scared that he misheard the conversation.
What an idiot he would be if he had. Walking up to his best friend, declaring his undying love, only to be laughed at and ridiculed by his peers. He was already figuring it was only a matter of time before Roy realized that he was wayyy above Wolt’s league.
So, Wolt kept his mouth shut.

Roy thought long and hard about the conversation he shared with Klein, and it left an empty feeling in the pit of his stomach. The last thing he wanted to do was tarnish his relationship with his father. After his mother died, it’s just been the two of them.
That lead Roy to another question. Should the situation arise, would he choose Wolt over his father?
Roy didn’t like his answer.
Maybe he should just come clean with Wolt. Get the inevitable rejection out of the way, and move on with his life. He second guessed that last part. He wasnt sure if he even wanted to live a life without his best friend.
It irritated Roy how people talked about Wolt. Sure, Roy has a lot of responsibilities, like being the student body president, and homecoming king 3 times running, and captain of the boy’s volleyball team. Maybe that stuff really did matter to some people.
But if they met his Wolt, they wouldnt care about that stuff anymore. Wolt was gentle hearted. His eyes spoke a thousand words with just a blink. Every curvature of his face was so beautifully defined, in a way unique only to Wolt. His Wolt!
It bothered Roy so much every time Wolt rambled about how Roy was too good for him, and how he doesnt know how Roy can stand being around him in public, it was all just a bunch of garbage.
If he could, he would hold Wolt up by his armpits and walk everywhere declaring that Wolt was the most beautiful specimen to ever walk this god forsaken planet, and that anyone who disagreed could-
Well, he probably shouldnt say that.

“Wolt! Wolt! There you are, ive been looking for you everywhere!” Roy exclaimed while running towards the spring green boy.
Wolt turned red immediately upon seeing Roy, and he tried to hide it with his locker door. “H-hey Roy, whats uh, whats the word?” Wolt grimaced at his own dialogue. ‘whats the word..?? who the hell says that??’
Roy cocked his head to the side, with a strange smile on his face. “Wolt? You okay buddy?”
Wolt slammed his locker door shut and laughed nervously. “Okay? Im so okay right now! Im the definition of okay! In fact, its probably not okay that im so okay!”
Roy squinted. “…right.” He shrugged off Wolt’s weird behavior, and smiled brightly.
“Guess what! Lily, Fir, and Gwen are hosting a little party later, and they asked me to invite you. You in?”
Wolt felt his brain short-circuit. “Thats- Thats uh, well- i mean- if you- i- yeah! yeah sure i’ll- i’ll be there!” ‘no, no, no!! why cant i control the words coming out of my mouth??’
Roy smiled, and Wolt wanted to melt. ”Okay dude, i’ll see you there!” Roy waved as he walked toward the exit.
Wolt regretted being so reluctant with his viola.
