Chapter Text
The rehearsal room was buzzing, the sound of instruments and vocals mixing together as Dreamcatcher rehearsed with the band. Only three days left until the big concert, and everyone could feel the pressure, but they weren’t letting it get to them. Instead, the room was filled with laughter and energy, even as their voices started to show the wear of two straight hours of singing.
Despite the smiles, though, they were all feeling it—their shoulders a little slumped, breaths a little heavier, yawns they tried (and failed) to hide. When the concert director finally called for a break, the room erupted in sighs of relief, some of the girls high-fiving while others headed straight for the buffet the staff had set up.
Bora was already by the food, eyes darting between the spread and the other members, but something was off. She looked around, frowning slightly. “Hey, where’s Siyeon?” she asked, nudging Yoohyeon, who shrugged and pointed back toward the stage.
And sure enough, there was Siyeon, deep in conversation with the director, her hands moving expressively as she talked about the song, eyes focused and intense. The main dancer sighed, amused, yet slightly exasperated. This girl, she thought, her lips quirking up in a fond smile. Without missing a beat, she marched back over, hands on her hips.
“Director-nim,” Bora called sweetly, though there was a glint in her eyes, “let my girl have her break, yeah?”
The director blinked, caught slightly off guard by Bora’s assertive tone. Siyeon turned too, eyes widening in surprise before her face softened with an apologetic smile. “Ah, I’m sorry,” the main vocalist said, laughing lightly as Bora took her hand, pulling her toward the food table. The director held up his hands, chuckling as he nodded.
“No, no, you’re absolutely right. I got carried away too!” he called after them, but by then Bora had already whisked Siyeon away, her girlfriend’s fingers laced with hers as they walked.
Siyeon let out a happy sigh, squeezing the raven-haired woman’s hand. “Thanks for saving me. I wouldn’t have noticed the time if you hadn’t dragged me away.”
“I know, Singnie,” Bora said, her voice fond as she smiled over at her. “That’s why you have me.”
When they finally reached the buffet, the younger woman’s eyes widened at the sight of the spread. Her stomach growled softly, and she blinked, realizing just how hungry she was. She practically bounced in place, her face lighting up with excitement. Bora couldn’t help but giggle, scratching Siyeon’s belly playfully. “Hungry, huh?” she teased.
Siyeon wiggled her hips, playing into Bora’s teasing with a grin. “Starving,” she admitted, laughter spilling from her lips as she grabbed a plate. She piled it high with food, picking carefully among her favorites.
They found a spot among the members, sitting down to eat, the air filled with easy conversation and laughter. The main dancer found herself half-listening, her gaze drifting back to Siyeon, who was focused on her plate, a blissful expression on her face as she took small, adorable bites.
Unable to resist, Bora leaned closer, her voice dropping to a low murmur. “How is the food? Delicious?” she asked, her tone dripping with warmth.
Siyeon looked up, her cheeks still full, nodding enthusiastically. “Mhm! So good!” she squeaked, her voice slightly muffled by the food. Bora chuckled, shaking her head at how irresistibly cute her girlfriend looked.
Around them, plates piled high as the members chatted together.
“Three more days until the concert,” Gahyun said, eyes sparkling. “I’m so excited to meet Somnias again.”
“Same here,” the smiling leader added. “It’s going to be amazing seeing everyone together.”
Yoohyeon nodded eagerly. “I can’t wait to hear them cheering again. It’s going to be so worth all the hard work.”
“Yeah, especially with all the new stuff we’ve planned,” Yubin added with a grin.
The conversation continued with laughter and shared excitement, and even as Bora joined in, her eyes kept drifting back to Siyeon, her eyes softening each time her girlfriend laughed.
“Do you want me to get you some strawberries?” Bora asked, already knowing the answer. Siyeon’s eyes lit up, her nod even more enthusiastic this time.
Bora smiled, getting up to grab a small plate of strawberries. She carefully removed the stems before sitting back down, holding one up to Siyeon’s lips. Siyeon took it, her eyes closing in delight as she chewed, her face practically glowing with happiness.
Bora watched her, the words slipping out before she even had time to think. “You don’t even know how much I love seeing you eat so happily,” she murmured, her voice soft but full of warmth. “It’s the best part of my day, every time.”
Siyeon paused, her eyes widening slightly, a blush spreading across her cheeks. She looked at Bora, her gaze filled with something deep, something vulnerable that made Bora’s heart skip a beat. Without a word, Siyeon leaned in, burying her face in the crook of Bora’s neck, her lips brushing against her skin in soft, fleeting kisses.
Bora laughed, her fingers coming up to tangle gently in Siyeon’s hair. “What’s gotten into you?” she whispered, her voice teasing.
Siyeon pulled back slightly, her cheeks still flushed, her lips curling into a small, bashful smile. She mouthed, “I love you,” her brows furrowed, her eyes earnest.
Bora felt her heart swell, her laughter turning soft as she cupped Siyeon’s cheek. “I love you too, silly,” she whispered, holding up another strawberry. Siyeon grinned, her blush deepening as she took the fruit, her eyes never leaving Bora’s.
They continued like that, Bora feeding Siyeon strawberries one by one, the rest of the world fading away. Moments like this always made Bora’s heart swell—seeing Siyeon eating so happily made her happy too, more than she could put into words. As idols, there was always pressure to watch what they ate, but seeing the younger woman so carefree, enjoying herself without a second thought, was everything to Bora. Dreamcatcher had always tried to keep things healthy, not getting sucked into all the toxic expectations, and Bora cherished how they could just be themselves like this.
But more than anything, Bora just loved seeing her girlfriend smile, especially when something as simple as food brought her so much joy. As Siyeon leaned against her, content and grinning, Bora knew she meant what she said—that precious expression, with the accompanying Siyeon noises, was the best part of her day.
