When they'd finally arrived back at their dorm, they had to fight with the RA to be allowed back inside as it was one minute to curfew (parties were only for cool kids who lived off campus) but they'd managed, and soon the buzz of music in his head was gone, replaced by a faint bumble, which lulled him to sleep when he'd finally laid down.
When he woke up, he was greeted by voices speaking again, and he sighed at how he'd someday have to get used to it.
He checks his phone first thing, more specifically his email, and shakes his roommate to wake him up, excited to share news
"School is cancelled today!" He grins, the grin falls when he has a pillow thrown at him and a bunch of profanity thrown his way, Jungkook only pouts because he didn't want his roomie to freak when he woke up, at whatever time that may be.
So he gets ready for the day. He wants to go shopping and pick up soulmate blockers. He is just going to buy one pack of patches, because they can be bad for long term usage. He is really looking for the balm, which drowns out the voices instead and has no identified repercussions. It's pricey, but he's willing to make the sacrifice.
Again, he approaches Hyun and shakes him awake, intending to do what he does best and annoy him the rest of the day
"Hyunnn" he drags out "get up and let's go out!" He whines
"Give me 5 minutes and then I won't feel like punching you." He responds
"You wouldn't punch me anyways, you have 4 minutes left." Jungkook says, checking the time on his phone and walking out.
5 minutes later, Hyun is out of his bed and showering, when he gets out, he is wearing a set of red and black plaid PJ pants and a black shirt that hugs his body. He throws a zip up sweater on over it.
"What's the point of showering and all that to just put pajamas back on?" Jungkook asks
"It's fashion only intellectuals understand."
Jungkook is wearing bleached jeans and a dark blue sweatshirt over a white tee. Intellectual fashion if he's ever seen it.
He watches as Hyun slips on sneakers, and turns to look at him
"Are we leaving or what?" He asks
"Not bringing your wallet?"
"Oh wow, so after dragging me out of bed to the outside world, you expect me to pay for things?" He gasps and walks away, going to fetch the item. Jungkook knows he's joking.
He returns with something Jungkook would like to call a handbag but it looks more like a pencil pouch with handles. At least there's no hideous pattern on it
"Why would you buy that" he judges, he doesn't expect and answer, nor does he want one, so he walks out of the dorm room with the younger male on his tail.
Hyun rushes to walk next to the other and matches his pace "because all the crossbody bags and actual bags were too expensive for poor college student me." He adds "it carries enough stuff anyway."
Jungkook only shakes his head as they make their way to a bus stop, one he knows leads them to the nearest mall.
"Why's school cancelled anyway?" Hyun questions
"Some maintenance issue I think, I didnt actually read the message."
"Sounds like you" the younger snickers, receiving a weak punch on the bicep
It's not a long wait before the bus arrives, and the ride seems shorter than usual, so they're faced with the large establishment sooner than assumed.
"What're we here for?" Hyun asks, pulling black headphones to rest on his neck, Jungkook has no idea where they came from.
"Necessities." Jungkook states, and leads them in, searching for a shop that sells what he wants.
When he finds the store he knows has them, he walks in and begins searching. It's not long, the product is right in front of the entrance, some sort of on the spot marketing scheme. Above it is an ad with the picture of a popular girl group idol using it.
He grabs two of the tubes quickly, they look like longer and wider deodorant containers, but the packaging is all white with the lid and knob being beige.
Jungkook thinks that a good idea would be to make a spray on version of this.
He walks further past the shelf's and finds patches, going straight to the checkout. It's still early, so not many people are at the mall, if they're fast enough, they can run through all the popular stores and pick up stuff before it's out of stock.
When they leave the shop, Jungkook turns to Hyun "anywhere you want to go?"
The younger looks up from his phone, "absolutely!"
After that, Jungkook is dragged into random places and forced to purchase the items for them both on occasion.
Only when the place is more packed do they realize how long they've been there, and without breakfast.
"Let's go to the food court." Jungkook says, then walks faster, followed closely by Hyun, who was probably hungrier than himself.
Hyun pays this time, and Jungkook's wallet thanks him.
They sit at the food court for roughly 20 minutes after eating before deciding they should go home, mainly because hyun says that the bags he's holding are getting too heavy and Jungkook doesn't want to hold them for him, his hands are already full enough.
So they take the bus back, and collapse on the couch once they're back in the dorm room.
"I haven't heard you speak to your soulmates all that often, why not?" Hyun questions him after a few moments of silence
"Eh, they're busy and I'm not all that interested at the moment." He says this only because he hasn't heard any of their voices in a while, and he's been ignoring the slight tightening feeling in his chest.
"How would you know they're busy?" Hyun follows up
"They're always talking to somebody, always have patches on, or are draining out their voices. Seem busy enough to me, so I won't make too much of an effort when they have things to do. Who knows if I'll even like them?" He explains "and if I dont like them, I could always date you~" he snickers
"Never in a million years." Hyun deadpans
"You suck." Jungkook pauses "I'm thinking of just not talking anymore."
"That's stupid." Hyun comments "why would you deprive yourself of something that important just so you don't have to talk to your soulmate? I get maintaining a distance, but that's just plain dumb, ignore them instead."
Jungkook hums " I guess."
The rest of the day is spent lounging around, watching variety shows, until nightfall, where they finally go to sleep, school not being cancelled the next day.
