Chapter Text
Emerelda woke up to a light tapping on her arm, she rolled over to see who it was and saw that it was Xanthous. "Hey lunch is ready, do you want to come downstairs to eat?" He whispered. Emerelda still being half asleep shook her head no. "Okay well you should eat anyways I'll get you food and bring it up here. Why don't you change into day clothes... We have a meeting later." Xanthous said while sitting Emerelda up in her bed.
"Yeah I'll do that." She said with a grunt of pain, "Alright then." He said, patting the bed as he stood to leave, "Hey... Could you eat with me?" Emerelda questioned, "Sure." Xanthous said with a soft smile. He left after that but Emerelda stayed put for a minute before getting up which was found to be a struggle. She was ready (minus her hair which was loose around her face) in the 10 minutes it took Xanthous to get lunch.
"Hi, got you some lunch, what's up, how are you feeling? If you're not up for the meeting that's okay we can reschedule," Xanthous said, setting down the tray of food on her bed.
"Thanks for the food, and I'm feeling much better, no need to reschedule," Emerelda said then ate a bite of food.
"Good, good, do you need help with your hair or..." Xanthous noted.
"Oh right," she said, taking a strand of hair to look at, "I've been wanting to try something different so I'll just leave it down." she said taking another bite of food (it was pretty good).
"Kay just thought I'd ask." They regressed into a comfortable silence and it lasted about thirty minutes before Xanthous said, "It'll be the first Happily Forever After Assembly so Elvina and Trollbella will be there. Are you excited?"
Emerelda chuckled, "Actually I'm a little nervous- you know... since Elvina kidnapped and tried to kill you..."
Xanthous coughed "Right she did do that," Is all he managed to say before busting out laughing with Emerelda. "My god we are not prepared for this meeting are we?" Xanthous said, still trying to catch his breath.
"Nope... Not like we have time to complain about it though- it's time to go!"
"crap we have to go NOW!" He said standing up and rushing out the door.
"WAIT FOR ME!" Emerelda said, running to catch up to him.
