Chapter Text
Lloyd groaned as he forced his tried body to move. The room was dimly lit by the reflected light of the moon seeping through the small window in his dorm. It was quite useless to Lloyd, it was tiny and placed too high to even properly look out of. The blonde slowly got out of bed. His hand slapped around on his night stand until he found his battered camera. Lloyd holds his camera close to his chest as he snuck out of his room. The hallway was darker compared his room, it seemed impossible to know where he was going. At least that is if he hasn't spent most of his life here, every inch of this hell he called home and school he knew like the back of his hand. The blonde began to wander the halls, keeping note of every sound he heard, every possible movement he saw. He needed to find the ghost again.
"Hey ghost.. come on out.. I just want a picture." Lloyd muttered, keeping his voice nice and quiet. The softer his steps became the louder the wooden floors creaked. Despite the inconvenience and higher possibility to get caught, he kept calling for the ghost. This little search for the ghost started when he was only six, he still remembered when he first saw the spirt. The ghost was fairly tall and stuck to the wall like a shadow quite literally, their entire body was pure black except their ruby eyes. It was only for a moment, but Lloyd stared straight into the ghost's bright red eyes. The red seemed so similar, probably just because of it was the same shade of red as his.
"Please, just one picture.." Lloyd pleaded as he continued to sneak through the hallways of the dormitories. As he passed by countless doors but one stood out to him. The dorm door was far too familiar, he hated how he knew who's room it was. He hated him now. The blonde silently hissed to himself as he quickly walked away from the door. Escaping unwanted emotions he didn't have time for right now. He wandered the empty hallways endlessly for a spirt that most likely wouldn't show up another night. "Why won't you come.." Lloyd murmured harshly, the camera in his grasp started to become useless. This was nothing but a waste of his time, he was looking for something that was just a figment of his imagination.
The blonde fell down to his knees, it's a bit dramatic but he couldn't help it. He was frustrated, at the absent ghost and himself. Each night he failed to conjure up proof, the more ruthless his classmates treated him. He clenched the camera tightly, his breaths now uneven and heavy. "Lloyd." A older voice spoke up to break Lloyd out of his trance. The blonde snapped right up, he glanced around to see the wall behind him with the ghost standing there. He wiped away tears that fell on his face although unsure when he started to cry. A small smile flickered onto his small face.
"You know my name?" The blonde awkwardly questioned as he stood up on his feet. The shadow doesn't give a response and instead remained still as he simply blinked. "Can I take a picture of you?" Lloyd asked the shadow while he took a step closer to the wall. He tilted his head as he tried to see if the shadow gave a reaction, any reaction. Yet there was nothing but silence. The blonde held his camera up to show the sprit. "Just one, just for proof." He carefully spoke, he didn't want to startle them. "Just so Brad and his new friends can leave me alone." The boy continued to beg as his finger moved to hover over the shutter button.
The shadow began to move, although not by much as they just tilted their head to Lloyd's right. "I'll be back." The shadow spoke up again with their deep voice. The blonde's face scrunched up with confusion. He lowered the camera to look directly at the sprit. "What?" He said, his desire to capture a picture of the shadow forgotten in his confusion. They then vanished from the wall. "What?!" Lloyd then angrily exclaimed as he watched the sprit leave. He went up to the wall and dropped his camera on the ground and started to hit the wall.
"No! I was so close!" He yelled out in frustration. His hands continued to pound against the wall. "You cant do this to me again! I am Lloyd Garmadon!" Lloyd shouted as he started to slow down on his hits on the wall. His breathing was hard and angry as his hands slowly began to rest on the wall. The silence of his own frustrations were unbearable to be in. The blonde pushed himself away from the wall and picked his camera back up. He doesn't check for any damages he could have made and just started to head back to his dorm.
Another unsuccessful night to catch a photo of the shadow ghost, so another day for Brad to harass him. Something Lloyd hoped to finally avoid, but it was whatever. Tomorrow is another day.
