Chapter Text
When Nico woke a couple of days later, he knew they were in their Dublin safe house. Nico couldn't remember the journey, but he knew that they had moved. Nico sat up before he searched for Yusuf as the first thing, as always. It took less than a second to find Yusuf, who was sleeping in a chair next to Nico with a hand on his arm.
Nico: "Yusuf, distare."
When Yusuf heard Nico's voice, he woke up, and a second later, they were hugging each other.
Yusuf: "I am so glad you're awake again."
Yusuf kissed every inch of Nico's face, which made him giggle. It was a sound Yusuf loved.
Yusuf: "How are you feeling?"
Nico: "Like I won't drink before in a thousand years. And I'm hungry."
Yusuf kissed Nico.
Yusuf: "Well, about that. Andrea and Booker said they would take care of the cooking."
Nico: "They are doing what?"
Nico kicked off the blanket.
Nico: "Why didn't you stop them? Or have you forgotten the last time they wanted to cook a meal for us?"
Yusuf got a hold of Nico.
Yusuf: "I haven't forgotten the last time they cooked. Seeing the fish trying to escape the plate still haunts me."
Yusuf kissed Nico.
Yusuf: "That is why I made them promise me they would buy food from a restaurant or a pub."
Nico: "That is better than them cooking."
They both laughed.
Yusuf: "We also have a surprise for you for all you did, Nico."
Nico raised an eyebrow.
Yusuf: "Wash yourself and join us in the living room."
When Nico came into the living room, he saw a Christmas tree and Christmas gifts. On the table were food and beverages.
Booker: "Hi, Brother."
Booker ruffled Nico's hair.
Booker: "Glad you decided to join the living again. Maybe I should teach you how to handle your hangovers because you still...
Yusuf punched Booker on his shoulder.
Booker: "Why?"
Yusuf: "You know why."
Yusuf took Nico's hand and got him to sit down on a chair at the table before kissing him on the hair.
Nico: "Are we celebrating Christmas in January?"
Andrea placed the chicken on the table.
Andrea: "See it as your reward for doing a great job."
Nico had to hug them all for their kind thoughts before they sat down to celebrate Christmas as a family for the first time in twenty-one years.
