Chapter Text

Nichole and Devi were talking on the phone together, both lying in their own homes and on their beds late at night. Nichole doesn't know how the conversation came to be, but the two began talking about Isekai and what the two would do if they were ever put in that situation.

"I'll be rock," Devi announced on the phone. Nichole laughed and questioned, "You won't be a human with me."

"Fuck no! My ass will die immediately. I'm being a goddamn rock," he says over the phone "Why the fuck do you want to be a rock?" Nichole asked, "Rocks are pretty. Especially the shiny ones." Devi said flatly, "Make sure to paint me pretty colors." He continued.

"You think I'm going to find paint in a historical period!? You better pray that I'm rich if we ever Isekai together!" Nichole loudly said while also laughing. "Figure it out or leave me at the bottom of a lake!" Devi joked.

"If I'm rich, then I'll paint you pretty colors! Will people think I'm insane? Fuck yeah, they will!" Nichole yelled as she went to take a drink of her water. "You better find a way to communicate with me though," she tells him, point blank.

"I'm a rock!" He yelled, "Bitch, try telepathy or something! Talk to me with our minds!" Nichole yelled back. "A rock once again!" He said once more, "Bitch, you won't even talk to me as a rock? Fuck being a rock!" Nichole said with a laugh.

"Look, just pick up the shiniest rock you can find, and that might be me," Devi said. Nichole might not know which rock he would even be! Devi just said find a shiny rock, and that might be me. This bastard.

"Be a cute animal or something," Nichole told him as she went to turn on her side on the bed. "You want me to die!?" He yelled in shock, "You can be my fucking pet so that you don't die!" She yelled back. "Wow! I can't believe this," he said.

Nichole is happy to have Devi as her best friend. The two are like family, and they always stick by each other's sides no matter what. "Well, I'm going to go to bed, Devi. Night night!" she says, and he also says goodnight and goes to bed.

Nichole ended the call and put her phone on the charger. She fixed her pillow and lay down, her cat momma, coming to lay right next to her as she closed her eyes and waited for sleep to come knocking her out.

"Master..." A distant voice called out, and Nichole groaned and turned on her side. "Wake up," the same distant voice said. Nichole, thinking that she was still dreaming, ignored it.

"Master! Wake up!" The voice yelled, and Nichole sat up and glared at the person who yelled at her, "What is it!?" She asked in an annoyed tone. But when she got a good look at a young boy who seemed to be dressed in rags, she paused. Why did he call her master? Who is he? Why is he dressed like that?

So many thoughts ran through her mind, but the boy ignored her outburst. "We were supposed to go to the market today, master." He tells her with a serious tone, "Who..." She began speaking but immediately stopped. This isn't her voice.

She quickly threw the covers off, not paying attention to the unfamiliar room or bed. She got out of bed and immediately tried looking for a mirror. But... there's no fixed bathroom. No large mirrors. Everything looks different! Where the hell is she!?

She started to slightly panic. Was she kidnapped? But if she was, why was that kid calling her master? "Phone," was all that she said as she decided to look for her phone instead of a mirror. She ran back to the bed and looked around every corner to find her phone, but not only did she not find it, she also didn't see an outlet or her charger. She had to have been kidnapped then.

"What are you doing?" The kid asked with a confused expression. Nichole looked towards him; since he's a kid, he can't do much to her, right? "hey, kid. Where's my phone?" She almost demanded, but the kid raised a brow, "What the hell is a phone? Master, please don't talk nonsense to me about something that doesn't exist."

"I'm not playing around," Nichole tried saying again, but the young boy just chuckled, "Master Wu Yingyue, you possibly had another weird dream." He said, shaking his head, but she just looked at him as if he had grown a second head. "That's not-" Before she could finish her sentence, he interrupted her. "Enough talk, master! We have to go now! Don't forget to bring your sword with you. You forgot it last time."

'Sword!? What does he mean? What sword!?' "Wu Yingyue? Sword?" She just knows that she sounds like a parrot. The boy looked at her and crossed his arms. "Now you are acting more strange than before. Why are you saying your name and sword as a question?" He asked.

"I... don't know you," she finally told him, still looking at him in disbelief while all he did was laugh. "That's nonsense, master! Of course, you know me! I'm Little Bo!" He said it with a confident and bright smile and held his head high.

"I'm not speaking any nonsense. I honestly don't know who you are," she said with a more serious tone. At that time, Bo looked at her, and the two stared at each other silently. That was until he screamed and pointed at her, "What do you mean you're not my master!? Did she do it? What an idiot! I told her not to do forbidden cultivation!" Nichole just watched him walk in circles and argue with himself about what this girl did.

"You!" He yelled as he whipped his head around to glare at her and point his finger at her once more, "Why did you not say anything sooner? Also, why are you in her body!? Did this have to do with her committing taboo!?" He continued to yell at Nichole, feeling awkward and also annoyed. She glared back at him, "Don't start acting like this is my fault. I was too busy freaking out because I don't know what's going on! What the hell even is cultivation? Do you mean planting?" She asked, getting more confused by the minute.

Bo looked at her like she was an idiot. "I know what you're thinking about, kid." She said with crossed arms and narrowed brows, "How do you not know about cultivation?" He asks her, and she gives him a tight smile, "Listen, I just woke up in this strange world that looks a bit historical. Where I came from, we don't have cultivation."

"We will continue this talk after we return from the market! We need to get food, and before we leave," his expression suddenly looked serious. "Don't mention anything about where you originally came from. Or tell people you're not Wu Yingyue," he says, and Yingyue raises an eyebrow, "Why not?"

"Do you want to die?" He asked nonchalantly, "The people here already think that my master is a crazy girl from a fallen sect. If you tell them what you told me, they'll burn you alive," he told her as he turned around and began leaving the room. "Don't forget your sword!" He yelled out.

Yingyue groaned to herself as she looked behind her and saw a sword leaning against the wall. The sheath was charcoal colored with silver and gold dragons painted on it. Yingyue walked towards the long sword and picked it up; she unsheathed it and looked at her reflection on the blade.

"Put my clothes back on, you freak! What the fuck?" The sword... talked? No. Was that Devi's fucking voice!? "Devi!?" Yingyue yelled out as she stared wide-eyed at the blade. "Why the hell are you a sword? Did you jinx yourself before we went to bed!?" She asked as she was beyond confused.

"Listen, I don't know how I died in my sleep. All I know is that 1: Where are my legs? And 2: I was supposed to be a rock, so we're already on a bad start." He told her, and she wasn't sure if he was trying to joke or be serious. "Devi, you're a fucking sword," Yingyue said once more. "This is fucked up. What the fuck am I supposed to do without arms or legs?" Devi asked and Yingyue tilted her head and didn't know if she should scoff or laugh. "You're thinking about arms and legs now? Even though you wanted to be a rock not that long ago," she said.

"Listen, that was different. I wanted to be at the bottom of the lake, and now I'm some butter knife in a shabby shack, and now we're going on some adventure to the damn market because that runt said we needed food? Are we some broke bitches? We need to bring a damn butter knife to the market!?" Yingyue just listened to her best friend's little rant in silence.

"What the fuck are we going to the market for? Food? I can't fucking eat! I don't get a mouth! Just leave my ass here! You got hands, don't you? Use them!" He yelled. He has every right to be pissed. Why wouldn't he be? He's a damn sword.

"At least your sheath is pretty," Yingyue tried making him feel better. "Put me down." He said it flatly. Yingyue was silent for a few seconds, hearing Little Bo's distant voice calling out to her to hurry up. She picked up the sheath and looked at the blade once more. "You're coming with me whether you like it or not." She shoved him back in the sheath and walked out of the shack.

"You putting me back in the sheath is wicked work." Yingyue walked side by side with Little Bo; she put the sword to her face and glared at it. "How the hell can you still talk when you're in the sheath? You're like a voice in someone's head." She said, and Little Bo looked at her, "Maybe you are just as crazy as my master." His expression looked weird, but it also looked slightly relieved

"Who's the midget?" Devi asked, and Yingyue looked away from the sword and back at Little Bo. "Hey," she called out to him. "My friend became a damn sword, so I guess he appeared in this world with me. He asked who you are and also called you a midget." She said while pointing at the sword. Little Bo blinked a couple of times until he started yelling at Yingyue, well, at the sword instead.

"Midget!? I am sixteen years old! I am not that short, you damn sword!" He shouted in annoyance. "What are we getting at the market?" Devi asked, and Yingyue looked down at the sword in annoyance, "I told you that we were getting food. Were you not paying attention?"

"You two seem close," Little Bo chimed in and Yingyue smiled at him, "He's been my best friend since we were fourteen. We're like family!" She says fondly.

Yingyue didn't know the many eyes that were staring at her as she was speaking to Devi and Little Bo. That was until she started hearing the whispers.

"She's as crazy as ever."

"That girl started talking to her sword."

"Not a surprise there. It belonged to that evil rotten family."

Well, they weren't being discreet about what they were saying about her. This girl couldn't possibly be that insane and talking about someone's family behind their back is a dick move. "Pay no mind to what they are saying," Little Bo tells her. "This is what Master went through for many years. Right now we just need to find food and ignore them," He says as he begins looking at the stalls of vegetables and fruits.

Yingyue nodded and looked down at Devi, "They already think that Yingyue is crazy so me talking to you shouldn't bother them that much. Let them say what they want to say," Yingyue says to him, "You gotta taste all this food for me. So that I can know what it tastes like," Devi tells Yingyue, already missing the taste of food.

The bold words are from my friend, Looney! We called each other on the phone, and he came up with the swords lines after reading the scenario! These are actually his thoughts on what he'll do in the situation lmao I did the writing, but he is a major help on his lines and bringing in the comedy! This all happened in the middle of the night and you can find this story on wattpad and quoetiv

Notes:

Might come up with more later! Also, the bold words in the first chapter are all from my best friend Looney because we talk about what he would say in a situation. I promise that I'm sober!
