A few weeks had passed since Yukari and Kotone started dating, and surprisingly little had changed. Although that was soon about to change as summer break had finally started! And with summer break comes a vacation! Most of the time.
Admittedly given the whole dark hour and tower of death, Yukari didn't plan to go on vacation, even if she had the money for it, which she didn't. So it was a complete surprise when she entered the dorms to hear a conversation about a vacation.
It seems everybody had already arrived except for her, as everybody else, including her girlfriend, who usually stayed out until evening, were sitting at the tables. Kotone was the first to notice her, inviting Yukari over with a smile and a wave!
“Ah, welcome back, Takeba-San, would you care to join us?” Mitsuru asked, after noticing Yukari herself.
“Sure thing, what's this about?” She responded, taking a seat next to Kotone.
Mitsuru was about to speak up, but got interrupted by Junpei shouting “We’re all going on vacation to senpai’s beachside mansion!”
Junpei grinned, before Mitsuru shot an icy glare at him, causing him to falter. “Yes, we will be going to my father’s mansion at Yakushima. It would serve as a time to relax given our situation, and my father has some important information to share with us” she explained.
‘Of course she just has a mansion. But oh well, it should be fun’ Yukari thought to herself, her face blushed slightly as she realised that this meant she would see her girlfriend in a swimsuit.
“Aww yeah, going to the beach, babes in bikinis, all the fun!” Junpei exclaimed, as the rest of the group let out annoyed groans (except for Fuuka, who just sighed) and Kotone and Yukari apprehensively glanced at each other. “What? Come on Akihiko-Senpai, Kotone-Chan! You’re with me right?”
Kotone grimaced at this. Perhaps it was a mistake to refrain from telling the team that Yukari and her were dating.
“Way to expose Kotone like that, Junpei.” Akihiko said, disappointment dripping from his voice.
If there’s one thing that Yukari knew about Kotone, it's that she didn't like being put into the spotlight about this stuff, so Yukari interjected to change the topic.
“Anyway, Stupei being a massive perv aside, when are we going?” She asked, turning towards Mitsuru.
“The 20th to 23rd of this month, if that's alright with everybody?” She offered.
Nods of agreement were made throughout the group, and the meeting was adjourned. Yukari couldn't wait! This would be fun!
Over a week later, the 20th finally arrived! Yukari had packed what she needed the day before, she always liked to be prepared after all.
As the team got onto the boat they all ran to the front, except for Mitsuru, anyway. The view of the ocean was amazing! And so was the boat, honestly. It looked very expensive. But there’s only so much that's interesting about a boat , so the group mostly spent time talking to each other.
Yukari, Kotone and Fuuka were all sitting at the back of the ship, while Mitsuru and the boys were at the front.
“So, I’ve been meaning to ask something for a little while now.” Fuuka admitted
Kotone made a hum of acknowledgement and tilted her head while Yukari simply said “What it is, Fuuka?”
Fuuka seemed to ponder how to word the question for a moment as she looked away. “Are you two like..dating now?” She shyly said.
Kotone made a nervous glance at Yukari, and Yukari shot her a comforting smile back. “Yeah! I gotta say, thanks for your advice, Fuuka, I couldn't have done it without you” she replied, as she softly grasped Kotone’s hand as proof.
“No problem! Although I don't think I helped that much” the blue haired girl confessed.
Oh no. Kotone had that smug yet adorable grin on her face. Before Yukari could ask what she was going to do, Kotone kissed Yukari on the cheek. She felt her face heat up, it was so sudden! And in front of somebody else too??
It was made even worse as Fuuka giggled at their behavior, she was never going to live this down, was she? Or maybe she will, Fuuka wasn't as annoying as Junpei.
The conversation shifted tracks from there, into much less embarrassing grounds thankfully, and they mostly exchanged pleasant small talk until they arrived on the beach, the giant mansion looming over the beach.
The group quickly got off, and were met by Mitsuru’s father, Takeharu Kirijo. Yukari didn't really listen to anything he said though, she wanted to drop her things off and get to the beach already! Not listen to some CEO talk about…whatever it is CEOs talked about, Yukari didn't know.
After a while, they were finally able to do their own thing, and everybody went to get changed into their swimsuits. Their rooms were far larger than any of the dorm rooms, that's for sure. To the point it was almost comical, who would even use all this space?
Yukari did not dwell on the giant, almost cold rooms, as she quickly got dressed into her swimsuit and headed to the beach. She met up with the others, who had already made it there before her, she felt a weird feeling of being watched, and turned around to check who it was.
Nobody seemed to be staring at her as she turned around, before she noticed Kotone. “Holy shit..” Yukari muttered, unable to keep the words out. Kotone was..so attractive.
It was one thing to notice it inside the creepy brainwash hotel, but it was an entirely different thing to see on the beach. Kotone’s attire was unsurprisingly in her usual colour palette, but what really stuck out was the sunhat she was wearing, and that her hair was left untied, falling down to just below her neck.
Yukari drooled. She couldn't help it! Her girlfriend was walking around like she was aphrodite! With an unapologetically sexy body too, Yukari felt like she was in love all over again.
She snapped out of it as she noticed Kotone smugly smiling at her. She could just feel the “like what you see?~” vibes radiating off of her. Kotone then started staring at Yukari , clearly enjoying the view.
“You having fun?~” she teased in a whisper, not wanting to alert the others of the sheer amount of gay tension going on.
Kotone nodded with a bright smile on her face, and walked in closer. She put her hand around Yukari and-
“ Ahem.” Mitsuru interrupted, with a clearly fake cough and a raised eyebrow. “Mind saving all of..that. for later?”
“You saw nothing.” Yukari growled, glaring at Mitsuru, who only chuckled in response.
“Sure” she responded, as she walked off.
Yukari and Kotone stared at each other awkwardly, annoyed at the interruption, before Yukari fake coughed herself.
“So, uh..wanna go swim in the ocean?” She asked. Kotone shaked her head as she rolled out a beach lounger, and then sat in it.
Well this was awkward. “Well, I'll be back in a bit, alright?” Yukari mentioned, as she walked to the ocean where the others were. The day was mostly relaxing, as the group shifted activities from time to time, ending up in a sand castle competition.
The competition was more of Kotone’s style apparently, as she silently walked up to Yukari and tapped her on the back, causing Yukari to let out a shriek.
“WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!” She shouted, jumping away. Everybody else started laughing as Kotone let out an amused huff. She then revealed a sand digging shovel and started digging.
“You wanna join? Sure, I'm on your team though!” Yukari said
“Hey, you never said we’re doing teams!” Junpei protested.
Mitsuru and Akihiko quietly made a team of their own, getting on with their sandcastle, meaning Junpei had to team with Fuuka.
In the end, Kotone and Yukari won, as their sandcastle seemed to be a proper castle. Mitsuru and Akihiko did pretty well, but with some small mistakes, and Junpei and Fuuka did poorly, which was mostly Junpei’s fault. But as the sun started to set, the group all went back inside, laughter all around.
It wasn't all sunshines and rainbows though, as Kirijo had something important to show them when they all got inside. Before anybody could really speculate, he played some sort of clip from 10 years ago.
As the clip played Yukari instantly noticed the voice of her father in it. And Yukari felt dread rising in her throat. He talked about some sort of mistake, Yukari couldn't really focus on his words. She was so shocked that it barely even registered. Then there was an explosion, and the clip ended.
Nobody talked as they all absorbed the information, and Yukari couldn't take the pressure she felt, so she ran out, barely even registering her own words and everybody elses’ protests.
It was far into night time by now, but Yukari found herself at the beach when she calmed down, staring at the ocean. She just. Stared. For what felt like an eternity. Until she heard footsteps behind her.
She turned around to see Kotone walking towards her.
“Oh..hey Kotone. I-Im sorry for running out..I just thought that..my father was a good man. But..with that i just..i don't know how to feel..” Yukari stated, she felt Kotone hugging her and hugged back, breaking into sobs.
Yukari continued to sob as Kotone rubbed her back, slowly grounding her emotions.
It took awhile, but eventually she did compose herself.
“Hey..sorry about that” Yukari said
Kotone smiled at her gently. “It's ok..” she mumbled.
“Thanks..come on, let's get back before anybody worries about us, okay?”
Kotone nodded, and the two had a quick kiss, and then returned back to the beach mansion, falling asleep quickly after.
A new day means a fresh start! Less gay tension? Sure. Walking in the forest? What?
Well that's what the girls were doing, for whatever reason. It sure beats whatever ‘Babe Hunt’ Junpei and Akihiko were doing though, so Yukari didn't mind too badly.
That doesn't mean she was paying attention to the conversation at hand though. Fuuka and Mitsuru were talking about some kind of loose anti shadow tank? With kotone occasionally gesturing along to join in. But Yukari was too busy being gay to really care though.
Everybody stopped and tensed up as they heard heavy footsteps approach though. Was it an attacker? Kotone had even pulled out her evoker from god who knows where, but Yukari didn't have time to think about that as a metalic thing ran past her and practically toppled Kotone over in a tackle hug.
The metallic thing seemed to be a robot. And a girl at that, with blonde hair, some head accessory that looked like headphones and was wearing a light blue dress.
“I have finally found you” The girl said, confusing quite literally everybody else. Especially poor Kotone, who was clearly uncomfortable from the close proximity.
They were then interrupted as Junpei and Akihiko ran towards the group, panic on their expression. But they both stared in silence as they witnessed the awkward scene unfold.
“...So that's her type.” Akihiko eventually coughed out, annoying Yukari.
“My highest priority is to be with you” the robot continued, ignoring everybody else as she hyperfocused on Kotone.
Hell no! Yukari isn't going to stand for some robot girl flirting with her girlfriend! She wasn't even good at it, Kotone looked so uncomfortable! She had to intervene.
“Hold it! Get away from my girlfriend, you robot!” Exclaimed, marching up to her and Kotone and forcefully dragging Kotone out of its grasp. She seemed to relax as she was freed from the hug. “You can't just go and flirt with somebody else’s girlfriend!”
The robot girl seemed to be confused, as she tilted her head to the side. “girlfriend? What is a ‘girl friend’? What is flirting?”
She cannot be serious, there's no way she didn't know what she was doing! Yukari was going to go OFF on this girl, but Kotone calmed her down by putting her hand on her shoulder.
But luckily, Mitsuru also noticed the rising tension and continued the conversation.
“Not important. Who are you and what business do you have with us?” She asked, calmly.
“I am Aigis! I am an Anti-Shadow Suppression Weapon. I am here to help you all fight the shadows.” Aigis said, introducing herself.
Huh. That was interesting, a new team member joining SEES! And only with a minor amount of awkwardness.
With that, tensions defused and they went back to the beach. And more ocean fun! Kotone tried to stay back again, but was stopped by both Yukari and Aigis.
“Come on, Kotone!” Yukari complained. “It's no fun if you just stay in the back the entire time”
“I have concluded that to have an optimal amount of fun, the leader must be present in these bonding activities” Aigis followed up.
With a two against one, Kotone sighed, relenting. And followed the two into the water. She seemed uncomfortable at first but eventually got into it. Especially when a water fight broke out, where she relentlessly splashed everybody with water!
Atleast. Until aigis literally shot water at everybody with her finger guns, forcing a small time out, but they quickly recovered and got back into the splash of things.
Overall, it was a good day, and they had a good time at Yakushima.
