Chapter Text
Joe had only taken four steps before he found himself in midair, and seconds later, he landed hard on his ass with a cry.
Andy: "See, zero coordination."
Nile laughed even though she knew it wasn't a nice thing to do when someone slipped.
Nile: "Sorry, Joe."
Joe: "You are forgiven."
Andy looked at Joe.
Andy: "I give you 4 out of 10."
Booker looked at Andy.
Booker: "You're being generous today."
Andy: "It's soon Christmas. So what do you give him?"
Booker looked at Joe, who was trying to find his balance on the slippery ground.
Booker: "2 out of 10."
Joe decided to hold onto Nile, who had been kind enough to help him up.
Nile: "What are you two doing?"
Booker: "Scoring Joe's latest fall. That man can't keep his balance whenever there is ice or snow on the ground. It's great fun, you should try it."
Andy: "What he is saying."
Joe rubbed his sore ass. He knew it would be a long winter.
Joe: "If Nicky had been here, he would have scored my fall higher than you did."
Nile: "You let them all score your falls? That's cruel."
Nile turned around to look at Joe so quickly that he ended up slipping again and ended up on his ass again.
Nile: "I'm so sorry, Joe."
Joe: "Don't be. A hand, please?"
Nile helped Joe up again, who once again took around Nile.
Joe: "And about them scoring my falls, I don't mind it because we're family, and like in every family, we tease each other."
Nile nodded.
Joe: "Now, please help me over to the car so we can get to the safe house and out of the cold."
Booker: "Don't do it. All he wants is to kiss Nicky, and we don't need to see that again because we need to sleep tonight."
Booker laughed when Joe ended up on his ass again after punching Booker on the shoulder.
Andy: "Well played, Book."
Booker: "Thanks. Oh, and Joe. That fall only gives you 1 out of 10."
Nile helped Joe up again.
Joe: "Just wait until I'm back on solid ground."
Booker: "I'm so scared, and something tells me you'll have forgotten all about me once we reach the safe house."
Nile: "Don't bite on the hook, Joe. Remember we're staying here for six months or more. It gives you plenty of time to plan your revenge."
Joe: "You got a point there, Nile."
Booker looked at Nile.
Booker: "What happened to us young people have to stick together?"
Nile: "It is your old fault I'm siding with Joe after what you did in Siberia because I really want to see what happens once Joe exacts his revenge on you."
Andy: "I agree with you, Nile. Now, help Bambi here over to the car while we take care of the luggage."
Joe looked at Andy.
Joe: "That reminds me of something I wanted to ask you, Andy. Is my caller ID on your phone still Bambi?"
Andy: "It's classified intel. Get going, it's soon dark."
Thanks to Nile, Joe made it over to the car without falling on his ass any more, and soon they were on their way to the safe house, where Nicky was waiting with their favourite meals and baked goods. Plus, a soft pillow for Joe's sore ass.
