Sakusa had been the first one of the four to return home from his Christmas visit with his family, he had gone straight to doing his laundry and had started cleaning around the apartment, after around an hour Oikawa came walking in through the door. Sakusa stopped what he was doing and went to greet his boyfriend with a hug and a kiss on his cheek “Hey”
Oikawa grinned up at the other “Hi Omi..” Oikawa said with a cheeky smile, usually, it was only Atsumu who would get away with calling him ‘Omi’ it didn't get him the reaction he wanted as Sakusa just rolled his eyes.
Sakusa took his bag from him “I’ll do your laundry, mine is almost done”
Oikawa frowned and followed Sakusa to the laundry room “I can do my laundry”
Sakusa turned to look at Oikawa with a raised eyebrow “You sure about that?”
Oikawa rolled his eyes “You’re so mean to me!”
Sakusa laughed and shook his head as Oikawa walked off towards the kitchen, at least that's where assumed he had gone off to.
Around an hour later the two were both sat in the living room cuddled up together, a movie playing in the background but neither of the two had been watching the film, both of them were just really waiting for Iwazumi and Atsumu’s return home, they wanted nothing more than to just to wrap Atsumu up in their arms and give him all the love he deserves.
Oikwaw sighed “How long until they get back?”
Sakusa picked up his phone from the table “Um, in around 30 minutes”
The other nodded and looked around the room “Maybe we should order takeout or something so that we can all eat together when they get back”
“Yeah, we could order something, I don’t feel like cooking”
They spent the next ten minutes deciding on what food to order and they settled on ordering a few of Atsumu’s favourite foods. They had just finished making the order when they heard the front door of their apartment open up. They both got up from the sofa and walked over to the door, as soon as Oikawa caught sight of Atsumu he ran over to him and pulled him into a hug, nearly causing Atsumu to fall on top of him.
Iwazumi and Sakusa just rolled their eyes at the two. “Kawa, let Atsu breathe we only just walked through the door”
Iwazumi pulled Oikawa off of Atsumu, which caused Oikawa to pout at the other. Atsumu laughed, took off his shoes, and walked over to Sakusa, who was quick to pull him into his arms “Hi honey”
Atsumu smiled and rested his head on Sakusa’s chest “Hi Omi”
Sakusa smiled and kissed the top of Atsumu’s head, they just stood there like that for a while. After a minute or two Sakusa pulled Atsumu to the living room and pulled him down onto his lap so that they could cuddle.
They were soon joined by Iwazumi, who leaned his head on Sakusa’s shoulder, Oikawa looked at the scene and smiled, there was nothing in this world that he loved more than seeing his boys all cuddled up together, he was about to join them until he heard the doorbell ring. He turned and walked back to the door and received the food, giving the delivery driver a tip. He went back to the living room and held up the bags with a big grin on his face “Food is here!”
Atsumu was the first to start laughing at his boyfriend's antics before moving from Sakusa’s lap to sit next to him. The four spent the next hour laughing and chatting about what they did over Christmas, Atsumu had become a little quiet. All of them had noticed how quiet Atsumu had gotten, it was then that Oikawa spoke up “So, my mom has demanded that Atsu spends Christmas with us next year. She won't take no for an answer”
It was then that Atsumu looked up from playing with his food “Huh?”
“So, my mom noticed I was a little upset when I had been texting Iwa so I maybe told her about it and she demanded you spend next Christmas with me and my family next year” Oikawa bit his lip before adding “I pretty sure she loves you more than she does me and I'm her son!” Atsumu laughed a little and nodded.
“Okay”
Sakusa pouted “I wanted him to spend next Christmas with me and my family!”
Oikawa looked away from Atsumu to Sakusa “Do you wanna tell my mom no?”
Sakusa thought about it for a while before shaking his head “Yeah, no I don’t”
Oikawa’s mom was one of the sweetest people they had met but Sakusa knew that when Oikawa’s mom said something was happening it was happening and there was no arguing with her. What she says is happening is what was happening.
Atsumu laughed “Yeah, you really can’t tell his mom no”
Iwazumi nodded along in agreement “There is no way to tell that woman no, especially once she gets an idea in her head”
Still pouting Sakusa spoke again “Then Atsumu spends the Christmas after that with me and my family”
Atsumu shook his head “Okay okay”
After a few more minutes Atsumu spoke up again “Maybe one day we can get a bigger place to live so all your parents can come here for Christmas and we can all just be together and then we won't have to argue about who I’m spending Christmas with”
Iwazumi smiled brightly “That sounds lovely, my mom and Oikawa’s mom are menses when together though so be warned”
The four of them laughed together and continued to discuss the possibility of them being able to get a bigger place to live so they could have their families over for events.
It was a while later and Atsumu had gotten into bed before the others, telling them he was tired. He had lied he wasn’t tired, just felt upset and felt like a burden to his boyfriends. It wasn’t too long after that Sakusa joined Atsumu.
As much as Atsumu loved all three of his boyfriends, he just had a special type of bond with Sakusa. Sakusa had been the first one of the 3 that he had met and then became friends with, he had been the first person that Atsumu hadn’t had to worry about him using him to then be friends with his brother, especially because Sakusa and Osamu had never really gotten along.
The bond they had was something that both Iwazumi and Oikawa understood because they too had a bond, and even though they all loved each other the same, it was just something they had all understood going into their relationship. So when Sakusa had gotten up to join Atsumu in bed, he had given each of his boyfriends a kiss on the cheek, they understood that the two just needed some time together. Especially because of how much the two of them had leaned on each other. So Oikawa and Iwazumi had stayed on the sofa, cuddling under a blanket.
Sakusa got into the bed next to Atsumu, who turned around to face him. Atsumu moved closer, resting his head on Sakusa's chest, the other wrapped his arms around him, holding him close “What’s wrong honey?”
Atsumu sighed before looking up at him “I don’t know..”
Sakusa kissed his forehead “I think you know what's wrong, you just don’t want to tell me”
Atsumu bit his lip, Sakusa always could see right through him “I just feel like I’m burdening you all and your families…”
“And?” Sakusa just knew there was more to what he was thinking than just that.
“I guess I’m envious of all of you, it was nice spending Christmas with Iwa and his family and they all treated me like I belong there and that I was part of the family too. I had a great time but then it just made me realize how much I wanted all that with my own family. Am I not good enough to have a family that’ll treat me like that”
Tears had built up in Atsumu’s eyes and Sakusa pulled him closer to him, stroking his back in hopes of helping him calm down a little “You are good enough, you’re family is just too stupid to realize that right now. One day they’ll realize how much of a great person you are and it’ll be their fault”
Sakusa sighed before continuing “You’re not burdening us or our families, Atsu it’s like Kawa said I’m pretty sure all our moms love you more than they love us” He chuckled slightly “You know all my family could ask about was you, they love you cause you are part of the family know, like how Iwa is part of my family too and so is Kawa”
Atsumu looked up and listened to what Sakusa was saying and then nodded slightly “You’ll never be a burden to us, we love you so much Atsu. I don’t know what I’d do without you. I mean I don’t think I would of even just become friends with Iwa or Kawa if it had been for you making friends with Kawa first”
Atsumu smiled a little “Promise I'm not a burden”
“I’ll pinky promise you if that’ll make you feel better”
Atsumu holds up his pinky finger and Sakusa wraps his pinky finger around Astumu “I promise you’re not a burden and you never will be”
The two continued to talk for a while before falling asleep, Iwazumi and Oikawa walked in and found them both cuddling in the bed and smiled brightly at the sight. They had nothing but love for these two boys in the bed. They both got into the bed Oikawa got in bed behind Atsumu and instantly cuddled him and Iwazumi behind Sakusa.
