Chapter Text
Ekko opened his eyes to find the balcony just as it was before they used the device, everything was the same, except there seemed to be a darkness hanging over the place, a darkness that he couldn't quite put his finger on. His heart was was pounding, his hands sweaty and, he felt like he had no air in his lungs. It wasn't to bad the first time. The way they had built the transporter, their bodies and possessions would also be transported and not just their souls. It had taken hours of calculations and the knowledge of what Jayce had been through but he assumed it had worked.
"Jinx are you okay?" Was his first words.
He immediately turned to her, quickly running his eyes over her, checking to make sure she had no injuries and that the arcane hadn't done anything it shouldn't. She still looked exactly the same, same blue hair cut short, still wearing his coat, still with that slightly annoyed look on her face. "I think I am going to be sick." Was all she could get out before she hurled her guts up into the corner. She turned to him, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand.
"Are you okay?" He was at her side, hand on her back.
"How come you aren't throwing up?" She frowned at him.
"Well I have done this before, maybe it's like a first time thing."
"Will you relax, I am fine?" She smirked as she took a step towards the railing. "Everything looks the same, are you sure it even worked."
"It worked I can feel it."
"Hmm lets go to where the battle happened then, based of the calculations that is where Isha should have been transported. " She paused. "Wait could she even have ended up there, what if only her should got transported here." She asked a slight panicked look on her face.
"I am sure it did work, the calculations for the body transportation were almost exactly the same as the readings given off from the crystals, I am almost certain that she will be at the battle site."
"Lets just go there, get her and go, I don't like this reality at all there is..."
"Something eerie about it." She looked at him. He could see the haste in her eyes. "Let's go then."
As they walked through the streets of Zaun, he noticed how everything seemed that slight bit worse. More people addicted to shimmer, more pollution, more orphans running though the streets. Although their own reality wasn't perfect, it had never reached this level of poverty and danger in Zaun, this made him feel sick, he couldn't understand what had possibly happened here.
He looked over at Jinx as she pulled up the hood of the coat he had given her, and he knew exactly why she was doing it, if she was wanted in their reality then she very well could be wanted here, and even though she no longer had her iconic plaits, he had no doubt she would be recognised.
They kept walking until they found the entrance to the underground area, where the battle had happened in their own reality. "Could she have left and gone somewhere else."
"I don't think so, I always told he that if we got separated, as in properly, to wait there if it is safe for three days, if it wasn't safe to go to the Last Drop and hide in the ally. I told her that if I wasn't there after three days that I was probably dead."
"Well if she isn't here then we can check there next."
They kept walking until they entered the general area and found that it was barren apart from a rickety house still standing. "It seems like Hextech wasn't invented here, there is no camp here."
"Mmmhmm." Was all she responded with, she just looked towards the house.
"What is it?"
"That...house, its where we lived as kids, I thought it was destroyed, Vi destroyed it in our reality."
"Maybe she is still in prison here." It was then that his eye was imeditly drawn to something red on the floor, his first thought was blood but then he realised it was a far brighter colour. He looked again and saw it was in fact the bodies of Ambessas soldiers. He pointed towards them and walked over. "They must have come though the arcane at the same time Isha did."
It was then that something caught Jinx's eye and she without hesitation started running towards what she had seen. She halted at the bodies as Ekko ran to catch up. He watched as she bent down and picked up a blue and pink sprayed mining hat, he knew whose it was.
"Isha!!!" She shouted around them. "Isha, I am here." There was no reply. "ISHA!!!" She screamed.
Ekko looked around, hoping against all odds that they wouldn't find Isha's body. Something else caught his eye then. One of the bodies, had a drawing on his back, and it was awfully familiar. It was a skull with crosses for eyes, written right underneath was the word boom.
"Jinx, did you just do this?"
"What no, why would I do that?" He was just about to move the body and turn it over before Jinx grabbed his arm. "Wait." She pointed to a pice of string tied around the neck of the body, which she quickly cut before rolling it over with her foot. What Ekko saw made him feel sick. The string was connected to a grenade. "Who ever did this just wanted to inflict pain." She said.
"Isha..."
"Wouldn't do this, but..." She sighed and ran a hand through her shortened hair, a lock of blue falling back in front of her face, as it always did.
"But what?" He said as he picked up the bomb, and examined the drawings, he knew this design, the markings were all to familiar and if it was made by who he thought they were definitely going to be in trouble.
"I know who would." He remained silent as he saw, pain and worry pass over her features. "Me."
