Chapter Text
Colonel Paragus was a loyal soldier of the Saiyan Army who distinguished himself with glory in the Saiyan-Tuffle War (720-730). In Age 732, his son Broly was born. Unlike low class warriors whose children were kept in capsules at home, Broly was allowed to be capsuled among the elite: including Prince Vegeta. Undergoing various tests and development to monitor power levels, Broly was discovered to already have unprecedented potential. King Vegeta III, possibly insulted that his own son was outpaced by another, had the infant Broly exiled to an inhabitable world. Paragus followed his son to Planet Vampa, where the native lifeforms left them stranded without a ship.
In Age 780, members of the resurrected Frieza Force discovered Paragus and Broly on Planet Vampa, having survived nearly 50 years in the harshest terrain. They were unaware, of course, of Frieza's hand in the eradication of the Saiyans. Frieza instead turned them against Prince Vegeta on Earth, with Kakarot caught in their pursuit of vengeance. Paragus was murdered by Frieza in order to unleash Broly's berserker potential. He succeeded in taking Vegeta and Kakarot to their limit, but was saved from himself by the wish of Cheelai, a member of the Frieza Force using the dragon balls.
Having formed a bond with Broly since his rescue from Planet Vampa, Cheelai came to live with the large Saiyan. She helped him in teaching him the ways of civilization and in controlling his berserker mode, at least for a while. Cheelai was a thief fleeing the Galactic Patrol when she joined the Frieza Force to hide. Not much is known of her criminal past. She is believed to be from Planet Brench, being green of skin and white of hair. A mutual relationship formed between Broly and Cheelai. Broly even fought the God of Destruction Beerus to a stalemate for her.
In Age 782, Broly and Cheelai welcomed their daughter Cereli. In Age 790, they had a son, Rugula. Both children bore their mother's green skin. Cereli grew up tall like her father with white hair. Rugula was the opposite, short like his mother with black hair. Cereli's age made her the youngest of her generation, treated as a baby sister by Pan, daughter of Gohan, and Bulla, daughter of Vegeta. She was a lanky, sweet girl with untapped potential lurking beneath the surface.
Rugula would be part of the next generation, born in the same year of Boxer, the son of Trunks, and Gohamu, the son of Goten. The three boys were a powerful, but dangerous group: always fighting and continuing the rivalry of their fathers and grandfathers. When Rugula was old enough, he petitioned his father to train him on Planet Vampa from time to time. His training led him to rival the strongest beings still on Earth, Uub and Broly.
In Age 807, Cereli and her husband gave birth to a son named Kailan. The boy defied expectations, becoming a prominent scientist and not much of a fighter like his mother or grandfather. In Age 815, Rugula and his wife had a son named Choke. A fighter like much of his bloodline, Choke inherited his grandfather's berserker trait. He had difficulty controlling himself as a boy, needing the help of his cousin Kailan both scientifically and emotionally.
In Age 831, Kailan and his wife gave birth to a son Vocoda. In 832, they had another son named Kizuni. In 837, Choke and his wife had a son named Scarole. In 838, they had a daughter named Kura. In 839, Kailan bore another son named Dive. The five cousins grew up as a closely unit, though internal rivals did spark up between the four boys and only girl. By the mid-to-late 850s, the five began to spread out amongst the universe: from the center of power in the Galactic Patrol to the Cheelai's home of Planet Brench to the desolate planet Vampa. Each had multiple children, meaning Broly's survival was a major force in replenishing the Saiyan population.
