Chapter Text
3/8/24 [I'm writing at 6:00am, my dad is driving me to my papa's house. The car is stuffy and I'm in-between sleep and being awake. My papa lives downtown but he's rich so he doesn't go to work a lot. Which means he tends to his garden. Blue flowers and purple. His and his wife's favorite colors.
I can't wait till....till-] Niki fell asleep while writing. She couldn't wait for the warming presences that her papa, George, always greeted her with. He was her 'mother figure', which surprised a lot of people. But it was true, if she had a lady problem she'd go to George for help. He knew all the answers, and Niki was great full for that.
"Niki, we're here", Her father called to her beside him in the passenger seat. "Hm? Oh! YAY!!!", She woke in a cheerful mood. Niki happily got out of the car, running to the trunk to get her things. "Is that my daffodil?", Her papa spoke with grin. "Papa!!!", Niki ran and leaped into George's arms for a hug. "I missed you, pumpkin!", He matched her tone. "I missed you too, pa", She sighed in a calm tone. She waved goodbye to her Father quickly before running into the house with George right behind her. "Hey sweet girl", Minx smiled at Niki. "Hai Minx", She laughed. Minx wasn't really a mom to Niki, but more of a friend she got to see. Minx knew this and didn't try to leap into the mom role like many said she should. "Let get you settled", Minx spoke helping Niki with her bags. Niki carefully put away her stuff as the night fell. George, Minx, and Niki got to catch up on things with one another. Smiles and laughs were shared amongst each other. Soon, Niki was tucked into bed by her papa and kissed goodnight on her forehead. "Goodnight, starlight", George smiled. "Night, papa", Niki grined back. And just like that, she was right at home again.
3/9/24 [Got up early so I can spead some extra time with papa. I barely get to see him for a week, but I feel as if I just came home after a long trip. Papa said that he could use some help in the garden later. Today we get out at 12:30, so I think it'll work out. My bf won't stop messaging me, it's pretty cute. He misses me already. Minx just left so it's just me and Papa now >:]. He claims to not goof off but I know the truth. He isn't always serious, he likes to joke around but he as to acted tuff around Minx, she doesn't like jokesters. But I think that's just because one of her ex's used to constantly make fun of one of her tattoos or something. But I don't know, that's just what papa tells me. Anyways, school time now. Bye!!!] Niki closed her journal and packed her backpack. Waving goodbye to her papa as she leaves for school. At her school, Niki hung out with her normal band mates. "So who is your Dad famous again?", Jared asked, "He's know for his soft music", She smiled.
"I wanna be just like him"
As Niki came home early, her and her Dad worked on the house. "So how was school?", Her dad asked, "It was alr, I can't wait till you meet my bf!!!", Niki cheered as her and her dad folded clothes. "I hope he is a nice young man",He grinned. "You'd like him, he's quiet. "Aww, sweet", He laughed. Soon enough, Niki was in the garden, planting her new favorite flower. While watering the other plants, her dad walked out with a cup of green tea and honey. {Recommend: play the song orange-colored day by Liana Flores. Start at 1:40}Niki got up and grabbed her cup. "Thanks, papa", She smiled. It had been about two months since they've gotten to hang out. She missed this feeling. Her papa used to go on about how much he loved plants. He'd tell her every flower they'd see on the streets. She had desperately missed those orange colored days, the days she'd smell the sea salt. Where she would be carried home by her father as her papa clingged to his free arm. Niki missed the pink roses that used to grow just outside of their small house. How during the spring she'd get to pick each one. She took a deep breath as peace flowed through her body. She hear the song sing
"And orange colored-days~"
"Orange colored days~~"
She hummed the song along with her papa. She loved the peace sound of her and her papa humming together. With him, she felt at home. No annoying dad or brother to bother her. No stupid sally, no one. Just her and her papa, the way it should be she believed.
Her and her papa soon finished up the garden before heading inside. "You remember how to cook lavender cake?",George joked. "Mhm.....dad's....favorite", She seemed to sigh. "Hehe....yea....his favorite", George's smile seemed to fall. He had reget, lots and lots of it. But things went the way they did for a reason. He knew their secret, she knew the secret. The only one to not, was Tommy. George and Niki made the cake, but it was in silence, no music, no words... just silence. The way it was , George often thought. The way it was.
