Chapter Text
Wesker’s had a long day. Right now, all he wishes for is to be in your arms. His drive home is a quiet one, as it usually is. However, it is exceptionally quiet today, it only fuels his tiredness. He doesn’t even register the moment he gets inside and takes off his shoes.
“Al, you’re home!”
You’re coming his way, ready to grab his jacket from his hands. Before you can walk away, he pulls you in for a hug, his head resting in the crook of your neck.
“Long day?” you ask.
“Very,” his voice is muffled, “I just want to lay in bed.”
He doesn’t add the ‘with you’ because you already know, it’s quite unspoken. You smile and caress his hair, “Well you can, once you take the bath your beautiful wife has gotten ready for you.”
He groans, he pauses for a bit, you know what he wants to ask you. You pull back from the hug and cup his face with your hands, kissing his forehead, “I can wash your hair for you.”
His corners of his lips quirk up slightly, quite happy you understood. You lead him to the bathroom and help him strip his clothes.
The moment he’s in the bathtub- which is filled with hot water- he lets out a sigh of relief. You get to work. You rinse his hair and lather shampoo into his blonde locks.
“I’m going to fall asleep at this rate.” he whispers.
You chuckle, “Good, that way I know I’m doing a good job.”
You rinse the shampoo out of his hair. Your hands then find their way to massage his back and shoulders.
He grabs your wrist, “That’s good sweetheart. Thank you.”
You give him a small kiss, “Do you want to stay in here a little longer?”
He shakes his head, “I need sleep.”
You hum and watch as he gets out of the tub and you hand him his towel, “I’ll take some sweatpants and a shirt out for you.”
He gives a little nod. When he’s out of the bathroom, he goes to his shared bedroom with you, only finding the clothes you set out for him. Putting them on, he walks out the bedroom looking for you.
It seems that you were just finishing up on some dishes, when he comes and hugs you from the back, “Are you almost done?”
“Yup,” you set the last rinsed dish on the rack, “Why aren’t you in bed?”
You know the answer to that question, yet you couldn’t help but wonder if he would outwardly say it.
“I need you to be there too.” he whispers.
You smile, “Hm, sorry to keep you waiting then. Let’s go.”
He has you lay down first and then lays down next to you. Slowly inching towards you, until his head is finally resting on your chest.
“I love you.” he whispers sleepily.
You relish in those sweet words, it’s not very often he says it, but when he does you feel the happiest you’ve ever been.
“I love you too.” you whisper as you run your hand through his wet hair.
