Chapter Text
Myung-Sim is starting to regret falling for this man.
Not because she doesn’t love him— oh, she does .
But because she never realized that once Kim Sabu let himself have her, he would never let go .
Literally.
She’s currently trying—and failing—to pry herself out of his grasp as he clings onto her like a damn koala in his office.
"Kim Sabu," she huffs, wriggling against his iron grip. "I need to get up."
"Mm-mm," he grumbles, burying his face into her shoulder. "Five more minutes."
She glares. "It’s already been twenty."
"Ten more."
" Kim Sa-bu. "
His arms tighten around her waist. "No."
Myung-Sim groans , smacking his arm. "My nurses are waiting for me!"
"So do I," he mumbles against her skin. “The residents are waiting for me.”
" Exactly !"
"But mine can wait." He finally lifts his head, eyes still half-lidded with sleep, voice rough and raspy in a way that makes her stomach flip . " You can't."
Oh, hell .
This man is going to be the death of her.
She sighs, attempting one last time to escape—
Only for him to full-on drag her back into the couch, wrapping his leg around hers just for good measure.
"Kim Sabu!" she gasps .
" Shh. " He strokes her hair in lazy circles. " Sleep. "
" I can’t sleep when I know you’re being a menace to society! "
Kim Sabu just hums , clearly unaffected. "You like it."
Myung-Sim sputters . " I do not! "
"You do."
" I— "
He nuzzles into her hair, pressing a slow, deliberate kiss to her temple.
And damn him , because she melts .
She melts completely .
She can feel his smirk against her skin.
"...Fine," she mutters. "Five more minutes."
Kim Sabu grins .
And for the first time, he wins .
The next time it happens, Myung-Sim thinks it might just kill her.
Because Kim Sabu isn’t just clingy in private.
Oh, no .
He’s clingy everywhere .
And she learns this the hard way when he walks into the break room, sees her sitting next to Cha Eun-Jae, and—
Casually.
Without hesitation .
Drops down into the seat beside her and rests his head on her shoulder .
In public.
With witnesses.
Myung-Sim chokes on her coffee .
Cha Eun-Jae’s eyes go wide .
The room falls completely silent.
"Uh…" Eun-Jae glances between them. "Is—um. Is this normal now?"
Myung-Sim freezes .
Because, honestly ?
She doesn’t know how to answer that.
Kim Sabu shifts slightly, eyes closed, clearly unbothered.
"Mmm," he hums, snuggling closer . "She’s comfy."
Eun-Jae gapes .
Myung-Sim wants to die .
"Kim Sabu," she hisses under her breath. "What. Are. You. Doing?"
"Resting."
" On me?! "
His lips twitch. "You’re my pillow now. Accept it."
Myung-Sim glares . " Get off. "
"No."
She groans .
Nurse Joo coughs , clearly trying very hard not to laugh.
"Well," she says, standing abruptly, nodding to Eun-Jae. "This has been… an experience. We’ll just—leave you two to it?"
" Joo-ssaem! "
But they’re already gone .
And Kim Sabu?
Still plastered against her side.
" Kim Sabu, " she seethes.
He finally lifts his head, looking at her with that infuriating smirk.
"You love it."
Myung-Sim swears, one day , she’s going to kill him.
It starts innocently enough .
Myung-Sim walks into the hospital, coffee in hand, ready to start her shift—
And then she feels it .
A presence.
A very specific, very familiar presence trailing behind her.
She doesn’t have to look.
She knows .
"Kim Sabu," she says flatly, still walking.
"Hm?" His voice is way too casual.
"Why are you following me?"
"I’m not."
She stops. Turns around slowly.
He nearly bumps into her.
"Then what," she gestures vaguely between them, "is this ?"
Kim Sabu shrugs , sipping his own coffee. "We’re just going the same way."
She narrows her eyes. "The break room is the other way."
"Mm." He takes another sip. "Not today."
" Kim Sabu. "
" Myung-Sim. "
She groans, pressing a hand to her forehead. "Why are you like this?"
He grins. Smugly. "You love it."
She absolutely does not .
…Okay, maybe just a little .
She thought the clinginess was bad enough in private .
But no.
Kim Sabu has now publicly claimed her, and the entire hospital is eating it up .
" Did you see Kim Sabu just standing outside the ER? "
" Oh my god, yes! He was just leaning on the wall, staring at Sussaem like she hung the moon. "
" HE BROUGHT HER LUNCH. WITH A NOTE. A LOVE NOTE. "
Myung-Sim wants to die .
Because everywhere she turns , someone is whispering about her and Kim Sabu .
And worst of all?
Kim Sabu knows —and he does not care .
If anything, he revels in it.
At one point, she catches him smirking while two junior nurses giggle behind their clipboards.
" You planned this, didn’t you? " she hisses, dragging him into an empty hallway.
" Planned what? " he asks innocently.
She glares. " The public menace act. "
He grins. " Oh, absolutely. "
" Kim Sabu! "
" What? " He leans in, voice dropping to a lazy, teasing drawl. " I just want everyone to know you’re mine. "
Her breath catches .
Because—
Because damn it , when he says it like that —
She is .
She absolutely, undeniably is.
She tries to lose him.
She fails .
Because every time she thinks she’s alone—
" Hey. "
She jumps , nearly dropping her clipboard. " Kim Sabu! "
He’s standing behind her. Smirking.
Again.
" How did you even get here?! " she demands.
" I have my ways. "
She gapes . "Are you a ninja ?!"
He just shrugs, stepping way too close. "I like keeping an eye on you."
Her heart stutters .
" Kim Sabu, " she starts, voice almost pleading . " You can’t keep following me around like a lost puppy. "
He lifts a brow. "Can’t I?"
She glares . " No. "
" Too bad. "
And then he just—
Just walks beside her like he belongs there.
Which, of course , he does .
And damn him, because she lets him .
At first, it’s just the following her around thing.
Then it’s the public declarations .
But then—
Then, Kim Sabu changes tactics .
And Myung-Sim? She is doomed.
Phase One: Stealing Her Stuff
It starts with her pen .
She’s in the middle of writing a patient report when—
" Where the hell— " She checks her pockets. " Where’s my pen? ”
" Oh, this one? "
She whips around .
Kim Sabu is twirling her favorite pen between his fingers.
Smirking.
She glares. " Give it back. "
He pockets it. " Nope. "
" Kim Sabu. "
" Sussaem. "
She groans, rubbing her temples. " Why are you like this? "
" Because it’s fun. "
And then he just—
Just walks away with her pen .
Like the menace that he is.
Phase Two: The “I’m Cold” Scam
It’s late. The hospital is quiet.
She’s reviewing charts when suddenly—
A coat lands on her shoulders.
She looks up.
Kim Sabu stands there, hands in his pockets, looking way too pleased with himself.
" What— " she frowns, " what is this? "
" You looked cold. "
She isn’t.
She was perfectly fine until he showed up.
" Kim Sabu, I don’t need this— "
" Wear it anyway. "
And then he just walks off , leaving her sitting there in his coat.
Surrounded by his damn scent .
She hates him .
She really, really does .
(…She doesn’t.)
Phase Three: The Audacity
She’s finally getting a break, sitting in the lounge, sipping her coffee in peace .
And then—
Kim Sabu drops onto the couch beside her .
She tenses. " What are you doing? "
" Resting. "
" There are other couches. "
" This one’s the best. "
She glares. " It’s the one I’m sitting on. "
" Exactly. "
She groans. " Kim Sabu. "
" Myung-Sim. "
And then—
Then, this absolute menace of a man does the unthinkable .
He leans his head on her shoulder .
Casually.
Like it’s normal .
Like it’s something he’s always done .
Her entire soul short-circuits .
She freezes .
Her heart pounds against her ribs.
And Kim Sabu?
He just sighs contentedly.
" Perfect spot, " he mutters sleepily.
And Myung-Sim?
She is absolutely doomed.
Sussaem Always Wins
Because here’s the thing—
Kim Sabu is patient .
He knows what he’s doing.
He knows Myung-Sim is stubborn, that she’s fighting this, that she thinks she can resist him.
But the truth?
She never stood a chance.
Because every time he steals her pen —
Every time he drapes his coat over her —
Every time he leans on her like she’s his favorite place in the world —
He’s breaking her down .
Slowly.
Steadily.
Until, one day—
She stops fighting it .
Until, one day—
She leans back into him .
And when she does?
Kim Sabu smiles .
Because he won .
And he always knew he would .
It’s late.
Again.
They’re alone in the lounge.
Again.
And Kim Sabu?
He’s watching her.
Softly.
Like he’s memorizing every line of her face.
And Myung-Sim?
She knows.
She knows what he wants.
What he’s been waiting for .
So this time—
Instead of pushing him away—
She just sighs .
And mutters, " Come here, you menace. "
Kim Sabu grins .
And he doesn’t hesitate .
Because he’s already home .
