Chapter Text
Thomas woke up the next morning and shot up. He was sat in his bed, a soft light peeking through the window. Newt laid next to him, breathing in and out slowly. Thomas rubbed his eyes and frowned, he didn’t remember going to bed last night, how had he ended up there? A husk voice shook him out of his thoughts.
“Mornin’.” Newt opened an eye and grinned.
Thomas nodded and slicked his hair back. “Hey..”
“You literally crashed last night. Kinda funny. You just suddenly fell asleep on the floor so I carried you to bed, hope ya don’t mind.”
“Ah, sorry.” Thomas smiled down at Newt, then noticed his body. He wasn’t wearing a shirt and he quickly pulled the covers over himself. Newt stifled a laugh and looked at Thomas with an amused smirk.
“What? You’ve been like that all night.”
“Uhh… I don’t remember taking it off.”
“Bloody hell, did you drink last night or something? You said the fire was too hot and took your shirt off before you fell asleep. I called you strange but you didn’t care.”
Thomas blinked a few times before dropping the covers slowly. “Man, I must’ve been exhausted yesterday.”
“Mhm.” Newt pulled himself into a sitting position and yawned.
“Newt?”
“Yeah?”
“Love you.”
Newt paused but smiled, “I know, I’m just bloody brilliant.” He jumped out of the bed and
Thomas rolled his eyes.
“Where’d this energy come from blondie?” Thomas pushed the covers away and followed after Newt.
“A good nights sleep, that’s what.”
“Huh.”
Thomas mumbled and grabbed a random shirt, throwing it on. Newt watched him as he buttoned it up and he raised an eyebrow. “Something on your mind?”
“Perhaps.” Newt stepped forwards and grabbed Thomas’s collar, pulling him in for a kiss. Thomas jumped and it made Newt laugh as he pulled away. “Calm it Tommy. Your nerves are frazzled.”
“Could give me a warning before you do something like that.”
“Not my style.” Newt shrugged and grabbed a towel, leaving to go to the shower rooms.
Thomas wondered if he should follow but he was a flustered mess. Newt popped his head around the door and grinned, “Hurry mate.” Thomas quickly obliged and grabbed his own towel, stumbling after Newt. Autumn was ending and the air sent a chill through Thomas’s spine. He cursed himself for not bringing a coat as they walked through the haven. Luckily, there was no queue for the showering hut so they entered immediately.
The hut consisted of two sides, men and women, where there were changing rooms and multiple shower cubicles. The boys quickly got ready and clean, then changed back into their clothes. Thomas was ready first and he sat with Newt who was still changing.
“..so I told Minho to piss of right? Then guess who walked over?”
“Who?” Thomas was half listening to what Newt was saying but his mind was elsewhere.
As Newt talked, he threw his towel over his bare shoulders and Thomas’s gaze lingered on his chest.
“Vince! And he told us to… Tommy eyes up here,” Newt smiled and tilted Thomas’s head up.
Thomas turned red and furrowed his eyebrows, “Sorry.”
“Well back to what I was saying, Vince told me and Minho to stop acting like an old married couple, right? Then Minho goes and loudly proclaims to everyone in a ten mile radius that I’m already with you. So I smacked him round the shoulder and he shoved me into Brenda. I’m still pissed at him.”
Thomas laughed at this, Minho was a lively spirit to say the least. The boys left the changing rooms and returned back to their house, Newt wrestling to dry his hair with his towel the entire walk.
