Chapter Text
At the end of a long day, Wangji just exists in companion silence with his husband. He loves taking in the gentle smile that adorns his husband’s face when Wanyin looks at Wangji. Wangji knows that smile always resides in Wanyin’s eyes. The smile that is only for Wangji.
In a quiet corner of their bedroom, lies a table. The table is not really important . The contents on the surface are of significance. Coz they tell the story of love. Provide the proof of their happiness.
the forehead ribbon that adopted the indigo hues of yunmeng. The clarity bell which now has a cyan tassle its companion. The jade token which is adorned with a pale lilac tassle. All evidence of life that is nurtured by love and loyalty.
And, sometimes, when Wanyin comes across Wangji reading a book, he is reminded about the younger Wangji of cloud recesses. The one who harboured a crush on his prickly younger self. He wishes he knew about it back then. It would have saved them a lot of heartache. It would have given him even more years with Wangji. Alas, there’s no spell for time travel. Now, whenever he comes across Wangji reading, he stands near him in comfortable silence. But he always has to keep his gaze directed up and away from Wangji, in order to not see the shy (yet knowing) smile on his face. Lest he jump his bones in a very open corridor.
