Chapter Text
Your eyes flickered open from the usual sight of the sun gleaming onto your drowsy face. You noticed that this time you weren’t hugging Viktor, so you turned over and saw him asleep, facing you. You took your hand and ran it along his face, smiling at the sight of his pretty face. You then proceeded to turn over and sit up, arching your back which made a really loud cracking sound. The sound seemed to wake him up, since you could hear him start to get up shortly after. You turned back around and saw him sitting up, trying to fix his messy hair.
“I’ll be right back.” You told him as you got up and grabbed your bookbag with all of your items.
After doing your usual routine, brushing your teeth and tidying up your hair, you went back to your room but didn’t see Viktor anywhere. Confused, you went back out and through the hallway, and was relieved to see him standing near the window that always lit up the living room. You ambled towards him and appeared by his side.
“So, what’s on the agenda for today?” You asked, wrapping your arm around his waist.
“Nothing yet, I believe. Last time I checked Jayce said we were finished with our latest works.” He replied as he returned the side hug.
“Even if it’s just this moment, I can finally live in peace, right?”
“Rightfully so.”
Both of you calmly looked out the window, adoring the view. The light of dawn spilled over the city, kissing the glass and steel towers with a soft glow. Roads once bathed in street lights, now pulsed with warm amber as the city awakened. For the first time, you saw it not as just a place you existed in, but a place that was yours. Not a battle, not a prison, home.
You looked over at Viktor, and as he looked back over at you, you slowly leaned in to gently close the remaining distance between you. When you pulled back, your eyes gleamed with tranquility as you two gazed back at the cityscape with Viktor close by you, a silent promise of what’s yet to come.
