Chapter Text
As much as Chan wanted to join the Head boy immediately and check out the aspiring champions, the students from Beauxbatons were summoned in the morning by their headmistress for a short orientation.
They were once reminded of the intention of this whole event, and minding their manners. Chan remembered the tales of his Jeonghan-hyung and how he met his boyfriend during he Triwizard Tournament year too.
The Durmstrang was the host that year, his hyung being athletic and competitive was an enough combo to represent their school. He managed to perform incredibly with each task whilst also flirting and competing with the Durmstrang Champion, Choi Seungcheol.
He fell inlove with his hyung and all his antics and wit. And fell even harder when Jeonghan emerged as that years victor. Leaving a lasting impression during their final tasks as he escaped a series of boggarts and conjuring spell after spell. The Daily Prophet and even less unknown media covered it and called him a genius and a talent never been seen for years. All Chan could remember is how his hyung still has recurring nightmares, and how Seungcheol has to cradle him sleep during rough nights.
As charming as glorious purpose and a thousands of galleons sounds, Chan wouldn’t risk it. But he’s looking forward to the other possible activities that awaits, the Yule ball, exploring Hogwarts. Though Chan prefers Beauxbatons halls that screams elegance. The rich history that Hogwarts is entwined is enticing.
After their orientation, Chan went along with the other students to the Great Hall. He bid his schoolmates goodbye and went looking for Seungkwan in the crowd. The head-boy was seated along with a boy from a different house. Chan cleared his throat to get their attention. They exchanged pleasantries and Seungkwan introduced them to each other.
They managed to get by and converse for a few minutes when the head-boy had to leave to warn and reprimand a 4th year attempting to put their name in the Goblet.
“Are you planning to try and be a champion too” Chan asked as after Seungkwan left, their was an awkward pause as Chwe Hansol just continued staring at him.
“No, it’s not really my cup of tea” Hansol managed to shook himself from reverie, he can’t believe its the same guy he saw from the ceremony last night.
After having a mini brain malfunction, while staring at the brunette last night. Hansol racked his brain for a possible explanation. It was not the first time someone piqued his interest nor finding someone attractive. But just for locking gaze and feeling that rush, Hansol refused to believe that the infamous “love at first sight” is indeed true even in the wizarding world.
He’s practicing magic and sure their are known love potions, that he could easily brew. He may or may not have been coerced by Seungkwan once to make. Attempting to give it to his senior crush on Valentines day when they were on their fourth year. They could never give it though after the revelation that he was seeing someone, they were young and naive and didn’t even think about the consequences and how fucked up it was. Hansol would rather brew a polyjuice potion.
As he was lost in his thoughts he didn’t realize he was probably staring when Chan pointed it out. He was about to ask him about a possible misdirected love potion fiasco. When Chan cut him off “I’m part veela, we’re supposed to be very enchanting”
It was supposed to clear the mystery and where he can finally wrap his head. A veela, he remembers reading about them and how they are naturally mesmerizing and compelling. Other’s are even ought to do crazy things just to impress them.
Hansol nodded understanding what situation he was in.
“I’m not using my ability now though so..” Chan added and even slipped a smile. Chan knows sometimes their enchanting ability slips, but he swears he never once used it ever since stepping inside this castles hall. As fun as it would’ve been while performing, it also sometimes causes unpleasant occurrences.
The ravenclaw was once again then sent into a hazy spiral, seeing the brunette smile. His brain left to scramble off and find an explanation. Because there’s just no way a cliché from one of the muggle romance books he often finds his mom reading is what he’s experiencing right now.
