Chapter 5: Chapter Five

Chapter Text

Nox woke up with a sense of warmth all around him that he hasn't felt in a while. However, the bliss he felt was soon interrupted by a pain in his head. He tried to ignore it, but he failed. Nox sat up with Revon's arms still wrapped firmly around him. He looked down and moved their hands, trying not to wake them. Once Nox successfully untangled himself, he looked for the bathroom to see what was making his head hurt. He found the room and stared in the mirror, trying to see if there was a source to his pain. He couldn’t see anything, so he just assumed it was a headache from yesterday’s crying. He took out his ponytail, relieving some of the pain.

Nox found a brush and fixed his bed head. He was so concentrated that he didn't realize Revon had snuck up behind him until he felt arms wrap around him. He jumped a little, but he went back to brushing his hair knowing it was just Revon.

“Good morning, sweetheart,” Revon greeted with a very obvious morning voice. He snuggled into the crook of Nox's neck. Nox on the other hand was very torn. Revon's morning voice was the sexiest thing he had ever heard, but them cuddling him reminded him of a cat.

“Good morning, Revon,” Nox replied. He put the brush down and turned around into the hug.

“I need to ask you something.” Revon looked Nox in the eyes.

“What is it?”

“I wanted to ask…Nox, would you be my boyfriend?” This was the first time Nox saw them blush so hard. However, he couldn't say anything.

“Revon…I'd love to.” Nox pecked him on the lips, but before he could pull away, Revon engaged in a more passionate kiss. Once they pulled away, Revon smiled warmly.

“I love you so much,” Revon blurted out. Nox looked at him, a hint of anxiety in his eyes. Revon saw this. “You don't have to say it back. I just wanted you to know.”

“Thank you,” Nox whispered.

The two spent the morning cleaning up the living room of the apartment. Nox made breakfast, still feeling a little guilty about invading Revon's place yesterday (despite how many times Revon tells him it's okay). After they ate, Revon and Nox sat down together.

“Being your boyfriend now, I would like to believe that it is partially my responsibility to make sure that you are okay at home,” Revon stated. Nox didn't know how to respond to this question. He knew that he wasn't being physically hurt by his mother or any one else that ended up staying in the house. However, he also knew that those people completely ignored his mental state. Revon saw the internal distress in the boy and rephrased his question.

“If given the opportunity to, would you move out of the house you are currently living in?” This Nox knew the answer to.

“Yeah…I still care about them. I just don't want to be there anymore. And before this gets too bad, they're not keeping me there, I just don't have the financial means to move out,” Nox answered.

“Okay, so how about this. You go home, tell your parents where you've been, and talk to them about this. If things get worse for some reason, you call me, okay?”

“Okay.”

The two went out the door and got in Revon's car. Nox directed them to where he lived, and they parked outside the house.

“You got this,” Revon told Nox as he undid his seat belt. The two shared a quick kiss, and Nox got out of the car. Revon gave him one last smile and drove off. Nox turned around and looked at the house. He took a deep breath. In. Out. And walked towards the door.
