After that day, Yixing couldn’t stop admiring Chanyeol. Suffice to say, he was looking at Chanyeol under a new light. Chanyeol though tried to portray himself as a bad boy was actually a real softie. Yixing still remembers how when one of their juniors was short changed at a local snack bar and the vendor was scolding him due to a long queue behind him, Chanyeol just stepped in and not only gave the extra money but also bought the poor boy and his friend more snacks and drinks. Then another day, Yixing saw him giving away his jacket to poor homeless lady who was barely dressed in warm clothes. There were more random acts of kindness which lead Yixing to gradually develop a crush on him. The level of crush peaks when Sehun plans a vacation the summer he turns 18. By then Yixing is in university but gets dragged to Jeju by Sehun whom he can never say no to. Of course Suho and his brother Kai are invited. During the flight to Jeju, Yixing found out that Sehun had a major crush on Kai but couldn’t tell him. It was Chanyeol who had suggested this trip. As Kai was still 17, fearing his parents would not allow him to travel alone, Sehun had Suho and Yixing join them.
When they arrive, they are taken to a nice 5 star resort. Once, Yixing gets his room key and checks in, he gets a text from Sehun asking him to get ready in half hour as he had booked few beach rides and Suho needed company. Normally Yixing would have been excited at the idea of spending some quality time with Suho but for the last 3 years he has been crushing on Chanyeol. Anyway not to disappoint Sehun, he takes a quick shower and goes to the lobby to meet them. And lo and behold Yixing gets a surprise. Chanyeol was standing there, right next to Suho and Kai. He was dressed casually in a simple blue jean and a white T-shirt but looked amazing. Over the years, he had changed and colored his hair many times and now was sporting a black permed short hairstyle. Yixing walked towards them when Suho turned around and smiled at him, which made Chanyeol turn too. Up close, he looked more handsome.
“Hi, how are you?” Chanyeol greets him sweetly.
“I am fine.” Yixing answered.
“It’s been a while. The last time we met was at the game right?”
“Yes.” 6 months, 20 days and 19 hours ago thinks Yixing.
Just then Sehun comes to the lobby with another 3 guys. They work for the sports company which was in charge of the beach activities.
“Hey Chan, you made it. Good. This is Soo and his friends Baek and Chen. They will be joining us today.”
While they were exchanging basic details, Yixing noticed that Chanyeol was particularly interested in that Soo guy. He takes Sehun aside.
“Why are these people here? I thought it was only four of us and Chanyeol.”
“Ah hyung, I was trying to figure out the easiest way to go on the hike and found out that Soo knew the route. And his friends joined us. The more the merrier right?”
“But I thought you wanted to ask Kai out? And we were to help you.”
“That too. Baek there. That short guy “ Sehun points out to cute short blonde. “Well he has few terrific ideas. So I asked them to join us. Now come on hyung, we will be late.” Sehun then drags Yixing to the gang who were laughing and getting along well.
They went out and got into the van. The driver Minseok was also part of their company. Sehun asked him to join as well but he had an errand afterwards. Yixing felt left out as everyone was busy chatting and he was sitting alone. Fortunately the drive was short and they reached the beach in 10 minutes. They spent the next 5 hours playing volleyball, paddle boarding and jet skiing. All the while Chanyeol was with Soo. Yixing chose to sit down for most of it. It was nothing new for him as he was always the quiet one and his friends were used to it. Seeing Chanyeol showering his attention on the new guy made Yixing more withdrawn. They ate lunch at a small restaurant. He made light conversation with Chen and found him friendly but loud. At least he wasn’t ignored completely. Post lunch they had few more rounds of volleyball. Chanyeol was busy flirting with Kyungsoo while Sehun had finally asked Kai out. Even Suho happily chatting with Baek and Chen.Yixing couldn’t wait to get back to his room. Once inside, he took a shower and went to bed. He skipped joining his friends for dinner, telling Sehun he had a migraine and ordered room service.
The next morning, Yixing wanted to skip breakfast but Sehun came to check on him.
“How are you feeling now hyung? I was worried last night.”
“Much better. I guess too much of sun was not good for me.”
“Oh come on hyung. Once you have a good breakfast you will feel better.”
“I don’t want to go on the hike Sehunnie.” says Yixing. He just didn’t want to see Chanyeol flirting with Kyungsoo again. Sehun got closer to him.
“What’s wrong hyung? Tell me.”
“Nothing. I just want to stay in bed today.”
“Not happening. If you want to sleep in the whole day, you could have stayed at home. I am not leaving without you. Now get out of this bed, have a shower and let’s go eat breakfast and then leave. Or do you want me to drag you?” Sehun’s eyebrow twitched. Yixing knew he was running out of excuses and Sehun was not going to take no for an answer. He quickly got out of the bed, took a shower and they went down to have breakfast.
Yixing was looking around for Chanyeol while eating but couldn’t find him anywhere. He then realized even Soo was missing. Just then Chen came over to sit beside him. Yixing casually asked about Kyungsoo.
“Oh your friend Chanyeol went with Suho and Soo to buy few hiking necessities. Don’t worry they will directly join us at the meeting point.”
Yixing tried hard not to show his disappointment. He was regretting in coming for this trip.
