Chapter Text
“Balls” (Boby singer nods in the distance) as Tony sighs, realizing how utterly he fucked up. “How do I fix this?”
“You don’t. You stay here and lay low, all of you.” Thor was about to blow a gasket. “I am going to try to speak with them. See if I can calm Perseus down a little. Because this needs to be resolved quickly.”
That was unacceptable. Tony started this, and he was going to fix it. However, Steve’s face said something eerily similar.

Steve was used to back alleys, just not 2025 back alleys; somehow, they had gotten worse; shadier, danker, and tagged with more gang signs than he had known NYC had. But he had a job to do, so he would put up with it. This back alley, in particular, was directly across from Sally Jackson’s apartment.
When Percy walked out of his mom’s apartment at 10 A.M. sharp, Steve close behind. It was around noon when Steve realized Percy had passed the same bodega 4 times. Closing the distance, Steve was about to guide Percy into an alley when Percy stopped, turned 180, and locked eyes with Steve Rodgers before turning into the bodega.
Delmar’s was rather empty for lunchtime, with only Percy ordering a sandwich from the clerk. “Hungry, I know would be, if I was stalking a teen.” Finishing his order and paying, Percy walked past Steve, grabbing his shoulder.
(insert weird shadow travel effects)
Hurl “What the fuck!” Steve had no clue what had just happened, other than the fact that 15 seconds ago, Steve had been in a bodega and now he was on the bank of the Hudson.
Percy was now lying on the grass, eating his sandwich, unbothered by the sudden change. “So you wanted to chat, or was this not a social call?”
“I- I wanted to make sure we understood one another. That you knew what was really happening here.” Steve may have been shaken from teleporting, but he was not about to let that show.
Percy was inches away from Steve’s face before he could even realize something had happened. “If you think just because we are in public, you can threaten me, you are sorely mistaken. If you think that just because you are a supersoldier, you are stronger than me, you have a rude awakening coming.” With that, Percy put his fist in Steve's gut, sending him flying across the lawn. “If you think that you hold some higher position than me because you have saved the world 2 or 3 times, I have a nice tidbit to tell you. I SaVed IT ThREe TimES ANd NEw yORK AnoTHeR 4 FuCKinG timES!” Rising to his full height and releasing the power of Nyx, Percy seemed to be radiating darkness. The sea in Percy’s eyes seemed to grow wild, untamed. The waves behind them grew larger, overtaking the bank.
Steve was damn glad that he had taken that new shield from Tony. Throwing it with all his might, Steve launched it at Percy’s head. Then, running forward to finish the fight, Steve found an interesting scene. Percy was standing perfectly still, having caught America’s Shield mid-air. Waves crashed against Percy’s back, soaking Steve.
Tossing the new shield Tony made for Steve to the ground, Percy glared down the super soldier. “You’ll need this.”
With that, it was on Steve rushing Percy, hacking at him with his shield, and throwing punches that could shatter concrete. Percy easily dodged all of them for a short time, his eyes closed, a feral grin on his face.
When Percy pulled out Riptide, it was over, the vibranium nanotech shield Steve swung around in anger got notched down the middle. “HOW THE HELL IS THAT CLUB(?) ABLE TO BREAK VIBRANIUM?!!” In a last-ditch effort to win, Steve threw the shield at Percy’s neck, point-blank range.
Catching the shield inches from his throat, “Simple. I. Am. Stronger. Than. You.” Percy took this moment of shock to permanently disarm the once symbol of freedom, ripping the shield down the middle along the notch he had made seconds earlier.
That was the last thing Captain America remembers before blacking out.

“TONY STARK! I BELIEVE THIS IS YOURS!” Percy threw what was frankly a pitiful excuse for a supersoldier on the floor of the helipad.
‘How are some people so sure of themselves?’ Percy, bored out of his mind, was about to leave when a repulser powered up. “Seriously, Stark. I just beat Caps ass to a pulp and you are going to threaten me again?” Percy could feel his eyebrow raising as he turned around to face another idiot.
“I don’t mean you any harm, but that is one of my friends you have on the floor.” Seriously, what is with these Avengers? “I told Steve- and everyone else at that- to leave you alone. Now, if you wouldn’t mind, put your hands in the air and get on the ground, slowly.”
That’s not going to happen, so… “Stark, could you not, I’m already late for-” Tony’s repulsor blast hit Percy square in the chest. Looking down unimpressed, “ouch. You’d think getting hit with a tiny sun would hurt more, but frankly, an active volcano and being struck repeatedly with lightning hurt more.”
Backing up, “what in the fu- fuck. Why in the hell have you been struck with lightning repeatedly??????!!!!!!”
What🤨 “Family tree’s a shit show, and sparring with a hot headed thunder bolt doesnt help. Why do you care anyway?” (insert Tony’s parent complex)
