Chapter Text

Day 3: The Wedding.

The following day was as chaotic as you could imagine after the tide that hit the pavilion last night receded, leaving a mess in the pavilion and the backup tent was a plain canvas in need of a miracle.

Isagi sent Tobio to do something productive out of the tent, trying to ease the tensions of having Tobio around even though he promised to behave but... not even his mother believed him.

With only hours left until the ceremony, the group rallies. Isagi started to organize a team to salvage decorations, using his strategic skills to delegate tasks, like asking Tanaka and Asahi to pick up things and the girls and Chigiri and even Reo to add the female touches with the decorations.

Kaiser, shockingly for him, was taking initiative too and, using his charisma, he charmed local vendors into donating flowers and lanterns, barking orders like a “beach emperor.”

Hinata was impressed by this as well and, even him, was compelled by Kaiser’s charisma, and this empowered his infectious energy to keep everyone motivated and leading a group to weave palm fronds into makeshift decor.

Funny enough he and Kaiser share a grudging moment of respect where Kaiser had to admit to Hinata, with one of his trademark smirks “Your stamina’s… tolerable” Hinata laughed “but don't get too cocky, shrimp”

“I have heard that since I was ten... So it’s not like you discovered something new, beach emperor” said Hinata, still laughing, Kaiser just rolled his eyes, still smirking.

He noticed Isagi's eyes on him but decided not to look at him, since yesterday they haven't spoken and he missed him and he regretted what he said. He was an idiot with capital “I” and he deserved the silent treatment.

Since Isagi had everything covered with the teams he created, he joined Kageyama and both cousins worked together to fix the sound system, using duct tape and ingenuity, leaving the manager and the hotel workers in awe.

This brought back childhood memories when they built forts, and they shared a laugh about their old competitions, in video games or in family sports competitions, back when the prize was an extra piece of salted salmon or an extra kintsuba .

In that moment Kageyama said “Thank you, Yoccha for stepping up, since yesterday you had been a great support for me and this could be considered a success thanks to you”

Isagi blushed and admitted ”well, I had always been a fan of your commitment, Tobio, and, since I joined Blue Lock and now in my football career, I tried to use that commitment to fulfill my own desires... even in my romantic life” hinting at his own hopes with Kaiser and Tobio smirked.

“So Yocchan wants to marry that arrogant son of bitch?” Causing Isagi to blush instantly.

“SHUT UP YOU IDIOT!!” Making Tobio laugh even more.

Local beach performers, fans of the Ninja Shoyo offer to play samba for the ceremony, adding a vibrant Brazilian flair to the rescue effort and they will even play for the ceremony.

“Ok now… Tobio and Shoyo… go to separate rooms, Michael” said Isagi, talking with his boyfriend for the first time since their fight, the blonde man looked hopeful at him “give Tobio our key, and you” said to Tobio while Kaiser did as he was told “go, relax and we will make sure everything is ready for you. Same with you Shoyo Hinata” both were about to fight Isagi but the shook his head and pushed them to the door “leave you two, now”

Just in time the transformed backup tent was glowing with lanterns, flowers, and palm fronds, set against the sunset over Copacabana. The reception spills onto the beach, with a samba band and bonfire.

The guests left in groups to change and the last group was Isagi’s group since he needed to finish the final touches.

While he went to his bungalow Kaiser took over his role leading things until he arrived. The men were wearing guayaberas and black pants and the women, dressed with tropical flower dresses.

As the sun was setting, Kageyama and Hinata were walking down the aisle holding hands and their mothers with the other hand.

The musicians were playing a soft melody and next to the altar were Isagi and Hinata’s sister with their rings, two simple golden bands with their name inside, and the date of their marriage.

Kaiser was standing as the couple walked, Karasuno members, like Asahi, Sugawara, Yachi and Kiyoko, were crying.

The ceremony is magical, the waves crashing the rocks, the faint sounds of the sea birds and the sounds of people at the beach could be heard from there.

Kageyama’s vows are short but raw, “Ever since we met, I could feel your passion and that you were looking for the great goals I was looking for… and after seeing you never giving up, I decided that I wanted to set for you and I promise that I willI always set for you.”

Hinata’s were more refreshing but still sweet. “I never imagined that the guy I wanted to defeat so many years ago is now next to me, becoming my partner and, as a good pair in doubles, you know you can trust him because he will get your back and you will get his. This is a new starting line for us, Kageyama” he said, remembering all those times he screamed that name as he was looking for the setting to score “ Obrigado Tobio," he said as he smiled.

Oikawa was hiding in a corner because he would die from embarrassment if Tobio saw him there but couldn't help but to visit his best friend, Shoyo. He had tears in his eyes “damn it... Beautiful words even for Tobio...” He whispered in Spanish.

Then, after a sweet kiss, it was time for their first dance. It was Thinking out loud by Ed Sheeran and more tears were running down the women's cheeks and Asahi and Sugawara.

Kaiser, who thought these weddings were cliches, was starting to see the beauty of this theme. And couldn't help watching Isagi, and surprisingly for him, he was looking back, Isagi was smiling softly and Kaiser could swear he saw him blushing a little.

After that it was time for the speeches and Isagi went after Hinata's sister, which was as funny as you could imagine from a member of his family.

“I was nervous about this when Tobio and my aunt asked me to be the best man for Tobio. I mean we are talking about Tobio Kageyama, the volleyball genius but also ridiculously obsessed with...” The presents laughed “but I can't deny how proud I'm of him and his achievements, the gold medal in Tokyo, world champion, champion in the Japanese league and the Italian league but most importantly... he's happy with that special person that we all are looking for in our lives” he said it looking at Kaiser “People usually take for granted this but being happy is more important than. The titles or work achievements” he smiled at Tobio “Keep working Tobio but not only in your career but in love” he smiled again and Tobio smiled too then raised his glass and said “To Tobio and Hinata.”

Kaiser, to everyone’s shock, gives a brief toast: “To love that doesn’t bow, even to a king.” It’s subtle but heartfelt, earning a smile from Isagi.

At the reception, Kageyama and Isagi share a moment by the bonfire, toasting with coconut water “Who would have say that Yoichi Isagi had those speech abilities?” Kageyama said, smirking and added “Don’t you dare to surpass Rio’s thunder” teases Kageyama and Isagi smirks

Then Isagi said “I can assure you that Kaiser and I will strategize something bigger…” he smirked and Kageyama laughed.

“Knowing you… I’m sure you will” they laughed more.

Kaiser walked into their chat “can I steal the best man?” He asked with a little smirk but Kageyama didn’t feel the usual arrogance in his tone so he nodded, looked at Isagi and stood up leaving to where Hinata was. The German sat next to Isagi and without looking at him he said “I wanted to apologize to you… I have said rude things since we left Germany and I understand the way you explored after what I said yesterday. I was insensitive to your pain and I know it was awful to not play, especially knowing how competitive you are… you know I’m not great at this love stuff but I want to try… with you…”

“Thank you, Michael… I appreciate your words and your support” he said and held his hand, when the German man turned to look at him, Isagi kissed him softly rubbing his cheek.

Suddenly Hinata jumped in between them and dragged Kaiser and Kageyama dragged Isagi to the dance floor and the four danced to a samba beat, their laughter echoing over the waves.

The reception features a capoeira performance, courtesy of the hotel’s manager as well as guests learning samba. Some capoeira guys looked at Asahi and thought he looked dangerous while the former ace of Karasuno was scared of those massive men that looked terrified.

“Something will never change…” said Daichi, laughing with Sugawara next to him.

The final moment of the wedding was the torch passing to the next wedding couple so the single women and some men were in front of the volleyball net.

Kageyama was whispering something in Hinata’s ear while the others waited. The ball was yellow and blue with the words “Invite us to your wedding” on it.

After finishing Sugawara, Daichi and Asahi noticed the malice in the eyes of those two and smirked, watching Isagi.

“I’m afraid for that boy…” said Asahi.

“Just enjoy…” said the soft voice of Chigiri, who also noticed the malice in the newlyweds. “Watching Isagi struggling even a little is fun… are you recording for Hiori, Reo?” The purple haired guy nodded.

What a pervert…!!! ” Thought Sugawara, rubbing his hair.

Tanaka sent a pass to Kageyama and Hinata took a little impulse since he wasn’t as short as he used to be in high school so he didn’t need his super jumps.

Kageyama set the ball perfectly for Hinata and he hit it, targeting Isagi who, catched it by reflex. He noticed the ball and what it said then looked at his cousin annoyed, Kaiser smirked, knowing what the couple did.

“Be prepared then…” Kaiser winked at them and Isagi was pale, making everyone laugh at him, ending the wedding with a light mood.

Kaiser and Isagi left the country two days later after doing some tourism and buying souvenirs for their friends.

“By the way… Yoichi…” said Kaiser as they arrived at the airport “my comment at the wedding was a proposal…” he said blushing a little.

“I know...” he answered, blushing as well “that’s why I brought us this...” he handed him a silver ring “wear it so others know you are mine” he smiled and put on his ring then Kaiser did the same.

The next wedding will be Kaiser and Isagi’s... What might happen?
