Chapter Text

Izuku wakes up earlier than he ever wanted; he lies there in sleepy silence, staring at the ceiling for another hour before he decides he might as well get up. He put on his uniform and shoes and made his way out of the building, feeling giddy and excited for the day ahead. He gets to Recovery Girl's office an hour before classes start and sits on a bed he's directed over to.

She starts examining him and making sure he is okay to start back up with intense physical activity. She clears him to start tomorrow, he thanks her and happily makes his way to class 1A and sits in his seat, waiting once more for the bell to ring. Aizawa-Sensei walks in just as the bell rings, and they're all in their respective seats, and he starts class.

"Alright, class, today-" He zoned out, thinking about finally being able to go out and burn off some steam. He didn't realize the time passing until the shrill sound of the bell for the next class sounded. The teachers switched, and math started, so he figured he should at least try to focus on the teacher and what he was teaching. The rest of the school day went on like that: the bell would ring, a new teacher would come in, start class, and he would try to focus and then his eyes would wander out the window and he would daydream and then get in trouble for not paying attention. School ends, and he rushes home to sit and wait for night. He looks out the window and sees the sunset, so he changes and crawls out the window and climbs to the roof to start his patrol.

Two hours in, and multiple wannabe thugs later, he sees Eraserhead crouching and looking over the edge of a roof, then jumping down into the alley. He runs over to the roof, wanting to see him fight, and he is not disappointed. He watches Eraserhead take down three men in seconds, and then comforts the victim while the cops take the criminals to jail. Eraserhead continues with his patrol as Izuku trails behind him. Near the end of his patrol, he paused, and Izuku went to the last roof over to meet with him.

"Where have you been? You were gone for weeks, I was so worried!" he practically yelled it at Izuku. His voice rose higher the longer he talked, and Izuku got more and more uncomfortable. Eraserhead was still talking, but he was blocking him out, not wanting to hear his favorite hero yell at him.

Hearing Eraserhead yell, "Are you even listening to me!?" pulls him out of his spiral, his eyes snap up to Eraserhead's eyes, and he must see something in his eyes because he calms down enough to not be yelling anymore to say, "I'm sorry, kid. I did not mean to yell; I was just worried. I know that's no excuse, but I want you to know that I'm worried about you and I always will be."

Izuku feels choked up, his eyes burning. He falls into Ersaerhead's chest, sobbing. He feels Eraserhead tense before he hesitantly puts his arms around him, pulling him into a hug. He melts into Aizawa's (right now this is anything but Eraserhead) chest as his strong arms hold him in a comforting embrace. Aizawa rubs his back while saying, "It's okay, it's going to be okay."

It takes him a few minutes to calm down enough that he can look at Aizawa without bursting into tears again. He pulls back and sniffles, wiping at his nose with the back of his hand, and says, "Sorry."

Aizawa pats his shoulder and says, "It's alright, don't worry about it. Are you okay now?"

"Yeah, I think I'm okay, sorry again."

Aizawa holds out a tissue, and he takes it when he says, "I told you it's alright, why don't we go to the station and get you checked out, yeah?"

Izuku nods, knowing he can't get out of it now. They jumped down into the alley adjacent to the building where this whole fiasco was held and walked out onto the street, heading in the direction of what he can only assume is Detective Tsukauchi's station. He decides no matter what happens in the next few hours, he won't let Aizawa leave him. He needs him right now, and he has a hunch that Aizawa knows it too. he can tell by the way Aizawa subtly shifts to be closer to him, by the way his eyes move over to check on him every few minutes, to the station, and into an interrogation room.

Izuku knows it's going to be a long couple of days.
