Married in Theory Chaos in Practice

Chapter 15: Written. Signed. Shared.

Chapter Text

The fallout came quietly.

Universities shared the paper. Professors added it to syllabi.
One journal requested reprint rights.
A law student in Paris got it tattooed on her forearm:

“With care. With contradiction.”

A think tank quoted them in a policy memo.

A romance author cited them in the acknowledgments of her next novel.

And somewhere in between the chaos and the scholarship, they became something else again.

Their song.

Artem, from the armchair by the window, looked up.

“You remember this one,” Marius said, not really asking.

Artem didn’t answer right away.

It was the song that had played when he had first thought of Marius being attractive when they were thirteen. The same song that had played four years after that one night they escaped a gala and got drunk in a billiards pub. And the same song that played on their wedding anniversary in Paris.

And now, it played again.

No memory left untouched.

No future left unclear.

Marius crossed the room slowly. Sat beside him. Didn’t speak.

“You always put this on when you want something,” Artem said, voice dry, affectionate.

“I already have it,

Silence again. The kind that feels earned.

The song played on.
