Chapter Text
Shidou Ryuusei had never liked people.
Truthfully, they were more like bugs to him. Bugs that needed to be squashed underfoot in order for him to rise even further to the top.
But then everything changed.
The U-20 match. Hair the color of strawberries in spring. Eyes like clear water.
From the moment Itoshi Sae’s foot touched the ball, a feeling like being struck by lightening had coursed its way through Shidou’s veins, and pierced his heart.
Every cell in his body was singing. Sae. Sae. Sae. Sae.
Shidou wanted his passes, his goals, his voice, his body - All of it. All of him.
A hat trick for Sae’s number? Make it ten goals. Then Sae would have to live with him. Then Sae would have to fall in love with him. He had to, because Shidou didn’t want anyone else.
He only wanted him, him, him. He didn’t even care about the match anymore. He needed to score.
The end of the match. The little worm called Isagi brought home the winning play.
Technically, it was due to Sae’s slight miscalculation. So Shidou was going to count that as his third goal. His hat trick.
Which meant…
“Somebody owes me their number~”
“… At least let me shower first.”
Okay, fine. Shidou could wait. In fact, he sat outside the shower room in the Japan U-20 locker bay, waiting for Sae to finish.
Shidou perked when he finally heard the door open and familiar footfalls. Sae walked out with a towel wrapped around his waist and a smaller one slung carelessly over his shoulder.
“You got a piece of paper?”
Shidou quickly patted himself down, searched his bag, then resorted to stealing a sticky note from what might’ve been Sendou’s bag.
Sae braced the small colored paper in the palm of his hand as he scribbled down his number. Shidou bounced his knee, grinning widely up at the object of his fascination.
Sae only grunted.
“Here. I can’t guarantee I’ll respond.”
Then Sae was gone, and Shidou was left staring in awe at the little slip of colored paper in his hands, heart throbbing in his chest without abandon.
He didn’t even care that he’d lost the game. His insane linkup with Itoshi Sae, the feelings for the man that were fluttering about rapidly in his stomach…
Shidou Ryuusei had won.
