Chapter Text

Azure stepped backwards, his limbs feeling stiff and shaky.

“No.” His voice came out oddly quiet, laced with the fear that was enveloping him. A new feeling was building inside of him, like his heart was about to break.

“...No, no.. Two Time, do not..” He pleaded, his tone of voice having a tremble to it.

Two Time's gaze fell to the dagger in their hands, looking up at Azure with pain and grief as if he were already dead. Their shoe clicked as it fell onto the wooden floor boards, and Two Time started slowly walking forward, the dagger held tightly in their hands.

Azure stepped backwards once more, nearly off the chalk. His breath shook, his voice higher in disbelief.

“Night..shade..?”

Two Time’s lips pressed into a thin line before looking up at Azure with guilt. They then lunged at Azure, the wretched weapon gleaming from the white light above.

He sidestepped out of the way, snatching Two Time's wrist and stumbling. Two Time staggered, their feet fumbling against the ground as they got twisted around. The dagger fell from their hand, clattering against the stage floor with a sharp sound.

Azure and Two Time’s eyes met, wide with pain and adrenaline. Azure's gaze then flicked down, and he pressed his free hand to Two Time’s chest before shoving them back and quickly kneeling to grab the blade. Two Time staggered back wobbling before getting their balance.

Their eyes flicked to the crowd watching, dozens of eyes watching from the right, before glancing backwards, at the priest and the assistants.

The assistants watched with shock, grouped up by the back of the stage. The priest watched with a steady frown, shaking their head in disappointment with their hands laced together.

Two Time turned their gaze back to Azure, who was standing at the edge of the chalk symbol with the dagger held stiffly in his hand.

“My Nightshade..” Azure spoke softly, lowering the dagger and holding it loosely. “Why…?” He sounded sullen and hurt, and it made Two Time’s heart wrench. They didn't answer, eyebrows pinching together before eyeing the dagger. Their eyes looked black in the lighting, hair having a silver shine due to the spotlight above. Two Time looked somber, hesitantly walking towards Azure.

Azure didn't move, gripping the hilt of the dagger. He was tense, nearly flinching when Two Time suddenly pressed their head against Azure's chest. He stared for a few heartbeats, before gently placing a hand on Two Time’s head, gently combing through their hair.

““I'm sorry.”” Two Time murmured softly.

“...” Azure sighed softly, a gentle smile tugging at his lips. “It's okay, my Nightshade.”

““. . .””

Two Time’s hands suddenly clutched the leather robes and twisted around before they roughly shoved Azure. He staggered before falling, the dagger sliding away from him as he hit the ground with a pained noise, shaking his head and finding his hat gone from his head. His hand went to his hair as he looked around, finding himself in the center of the chalk symbol. He looked around frantically for the dagger before before tackled by Two Time, dagger in hand.

Azure's hands grabbed onto Two Time's wrists before they could bring the dagger into him. Two Time struggled, his eyes widening as Azure overpowered him and rolled Two Time off, pinning them down with a slam.

Azure ripped the dagger from Two Time's weakened grip and plunged the glinting metal into Two Time's chest, ripping through the clothing and sinking into flesh. Two Time let out a pained scream, their eyes wide and tears streaking down his face.

Azure's eyes were wide, flinching as he realized what he had done, yanking the dagger out and tossing it away.

“Two Time! Oh spawn-!!” Azure pressed his hands to the blood pooling on Two Time's leather clothing.

“O-oh heavens, Two Time..! What have I done?!” Azure murmured, tears of guilt and regret forming in his eyes.

“Nonononono..”

What had he done?? He had stabbed his lover, his beloved Nightshade..

Two Time put their hand on Azure's, looking up at him with tears, but not an ounce of resentment was in their gaze.

““I’m sorry, Azu… I…had little c-choice..””

Blood found its way down their chin. Azure sobbed, a shaky breath escaping him.

“No….no…My Nightshade.. My Nightshade!..”

Two Time’s eyes softened before raising a shaky hand, cupping Azure's cheek and rubbing a tear away.

““I-....I'm….I'm sorry, A-Azu.. Don't cry… I do..I do not b-blame…you..””

Azure's expression twisted in grief, his arms wrapping around Two Time. Two Time weakly scooted, resting their head in Azure's lap.

““I…l-love you, A-azure.” They murmured gently, smiling softly.

Azure's tears dripped from his chin, a sob escaping his lips.

Two Time fell silent, their hand falling away from his face and to the ground. Azure doubled over, shaking and hugging them.

“No…no…no no NO!!..”

Notes:

I don't plan for this to be the last chapter, btw.

Notes:

The end paragraphs were quite rushed, and I don't expect this to get any attention, but it's worth a shot, I suppose.

No, this is not finished, but I'm not planning on making another chapter until I either get the motivation or get asked enough to.
