Chapter Text

“You’re up,” Namgyu says slowly, trying not to look at Thanos’ chest. “Did you, uhh… sleep alright?”

Thanos’s face flushes, remembering how he’d just been in Namgyu’s bed. “Yeah, I think so. Do you have a bathroom? I gotta pee really bad, man.”

Namgyu steps out of the way, motioning to the room he just left. “Behind me.”

As Thanos walks into the bathroom, Namgyu heads to his room to change. He sees the bed, still messed up from Thanos, and Thanos’ shirt lying on the floor. Namgyu freezes when he spots it. He looks at it for a moment, then picks it up and slides it into his closet, hiding it. He feels weird after, but he wanted something to remember him by. Or at least remember that night.

Once he’s dressed, Namgyu goes back to the living room and finds Thanos sprawled out comfortably on the couch, watching Spongebob Squarepants .

“Really, Spongebob?” Namgyu thinks to himself. But after a minute, he ends up watching too. It’s not until Thanos turns around and sees him that he says something.

“Hey, you’re back! I thought you might’ve left. By the way, did you see my shirt in your room anywhere? I can’t find it.”

“Nope, didn’t see it anywhere,” Namgyu lies, and a pang of guilt hits him for being selfish.

“Eh, it’s okay. You got one I can wear?” Thanos asks, giving Namgyu a once-over. He notices the height difference between them. “Or maybe something that’s oversized on you?”

“Uh, yeah. We can look in my closet. I’m sure I got something. Or we can steal something of Gyeong-su’s. He wouldn’t know the difference.”

“Gyeong-su?”

“My roommate. The one you met last night?”

Thanos gives a confused look, then pretends to realize. “Ohhh, Gyeong-su. Of course. Yeah, great guy. Super cool… dude.” He trails off.

They head back to Namgyu’s room. Thanos looks at the bed, still torn up, and thinks, We probably got crazy last night. I wonder why Namgyu is acting so… unaffected. Maybe I bottomed? No, no way. Namgyu was definitely the bottom.

“Here,” Namgyu says, tossing Thanos a shirt, which hits him in the face. Thanos flinches.

“Does that work?” Namgyu asks.

Thanos tries on the shirt. It’s plain, just a typical gray t-shirt, but it fits fine. He nods.

Then, “You hungry? I’ll buy.” Thanos whips out a McDonald’s gift card.

Namgyu lets out a light laugh at the gesture, giving Thanos a genuine smile. “Sure. I think we missed breakfast, though.”

It’s 10:45 a.m.—they missed it by fifteen minutes.

Thanos grumbles. “Dammit. I never wake up early enough.”

“It’s okay. I was going to cook us something anyway. You probably need that after last night. Soo-yeon said you didn’t eat at all.”

At the mention of Soo-yeon, Thanos’s memory starts to come back. He remembers being at Club Pentagon. Namgyu… was he there? He couldn’t remember, and he wasn’t about to ask. If they’d slept together, he’d feel awful admitting he forgot it.

But he was hungry. And his head still hurt like hell.

“Okay, Chef Namgyu. What’s on the menu?”

“Pancakes. And sausage.”

Thanos lit up at the sound of that.

They ate breakfast together at the table. Thanos had chocolate chips in his pancakes; Namgyu had blueberries in his.

“So,” Namgyu asked, “do you remember much from last night at all?”

Thanos froze. He didn’t have a clue.

“Mhm,” he said with a mouthful. “Yup, like it was yesterday.”

Namgyu smiled at that. It was yesterday.

“So you remember then? Those girls, that club, me?”

Thanos was even more confused now. Girls? He didn’t take Namgyu for the type to be into girls.

“Um, yeah, that was wildddddd. And the club? Wow. And you? Don’t even get me started,” Thanos said, overly enthusiastically.

“Just promise me next time you won’t go out by yourself like that,” Namgyu said. “I almost had to get violent. And that girl who stole your wallet? That bitch thought she could get away with it… And don’t get me started on the guy who spiked your drink. I was lucky to run into you when I did.”

Thanos was now very confused. “Yeah, that was crazy,” he said—but it came out more like a question than a statement.

Namgyu narrowed his eyes, studying him. “You don’t remember shit, do you?”

“W-what? I remember those girls,” Thanos said, shaking his head for effect. “And that guy. And then my savior—you.” He winked at the last part.

“What was the wink for?”

“You know,” Thanos said, winking again.

“...What do you think happened?”

“I mean, I’m assuming that we obviously… I mean, I woke up in your bed, you saved me…”

“Thanos, we didn’t sleep together.”

Thanos nearly spit out his coffee. “We didn’t?”

“No. You really have no clue what happened, do you?”

“Honestly? It’s all a blur.”

“I had a feeling. Not to sound too heroic, but I basically saved your ass and let you crash here. You were being really stupid.” Namgyu looked to the side. “And no one slept with anyone.”

A rush of relief ran over Thanos. He was thankful he didn’t get into too much trouble—mostly thankful he didn’t do anything with Namgyu while drunk.

“Thank God. N-not that there’s anything wrong with you , it’s just… it wouldn’t be good. Especially for my image.”

Namgyu’s face heated up at the topic.

“Anyway,” he said, changing the subject, “I think I left my car at Club Pentagon last night. You mind taking me there? I’ll pay you gas money.”

Namgyu agreed, and not too long after, they were back in his car. Thanos hummed along to a pop song on the radio, legs sprawled out in the seat. Namgyu sipped from his thermos, trying to ignore the strange sense of domesticity settling between them. It made him nervous.

Finally, they reached Club Pentagon. Thanos handed Namgyu some cash.

“You sure? I really don’t mind,” Namgyu said, but Thanos protested.

“Have it. I’ve caused you enough trouble, Nam-su.”

Namgyu internally rolled his eyes at the mispronunciation, which convinced him to take the money. “Ok, fine. And it’s Namgyu,” he said, pocketing the cash.

“I’ll see you later, boy,” Thanos said, exiting the vehicle. Suddenly, he turned around, walking towards the driver’s side.

“Actually,” he started, “I’m having a party Saturday night. My place. It’s gonna have everything. Drinks, music, celebrities, drugs, you name it.”

Namgyu looked up at him. “Sounds like a good time.”

“It will be. I was wondering if you’d be interested in coming. You can bring a friend if you want.”

“I have work that day.”

Thanos thought back to Namgyu taking off to see Myunggi. “Take off. It’ll be worth it, I promise.”

Namgyu thought for a moment. “Okay.” He pulled out his phone. “Text me the address. I’ll try to make it.”

He handed Thanos the phone, implying for him to put his number in.

Thanos smirked, knowing he got his way. He smugly took the phone and put in his number.

“And text me if you need help again. Not that you will, but if you do… I’ll come.”

“Yeah, of course,” Thanos said, unable to hide his grin. “I’ll see you Friday.”

“You might see me Friday.”

“I will.”

It was Friday night, and Myunggi had decided to surprise Namgyu at work, like he did occasionally. He walked toward the bar, expecting to be greeted.

Soo-yeon approached, frowning in disappointment. “Namgyu’s not here tonight.”

“What? He always works on Friday nights!” Myunggi exclaimed. “I was going to surprise him and everything. I got him a new keychain, see?”

He held up a little black cat keychain, its face plastered with a mischievous grin.

Soo-yeon’s annoyed look softened into pity.

“He’s at a party. He didn’t invite you? Said he could bring a plus one.”

“A party? Whose party?”

Soo-yeon remembered the fight that Thanos and Myunggi had.

“Um, no one’s party,” she said quickly, trying not to stir the pot. She didn’t want to be involved in Namgyu’s two boyfriends situation.

“Yes you do. You’re a bad liar. Whose party?”

“You’re not gonna like it.”

Myunggi gave her a look. “Just tell me.”

“Okay, but I warned you. It’s at Thanos’s place.”

Myunggi felt his stomach twist.

“That asshole? Seriously? That guy has half a brain. Why would Namgyu wanna be associated with that?” he snapped, voice full of sourness.

Soo-yeon shrugged. She’d already said too much—and she didn’t even like Myunggi. She had an evil thought… and acted on it.

“They’ve got good chemistry from what I’ve seen. Maybe you don’t know everything.”

Myunggi’ face scrunched up with disgust. “Yeah, obviously. Didn’t even tell me he was going to that asshole’s party.”

He opened up his phone and saw a picture Gyeong-su had posted. It was Gyeong-su, Min-su, Se-mi, Thanos—and Namgyu. Thanos’ arm was around Namgyu’s shoulder.

Myunggi felt more betrayed than he should’ve. He was feeling possessive. He thought they were getting close. Hell, even Gyeong-su didn’t tell him.

He turned off his phone.

“Have a good night,” he said bitterly, leaving the keychain on the bar. “And you can hand him this. Tell him I was here.”

He stormed out. Soo-yeon stared after him, wide-eyed.

“Fuck,” she thought, picking up the keychain. “What did I just do?”
