Chapter Text
one year later ~
“So he still hasn’t told you where the concert is being held?” James questioned through the phone. After months of Sirius badgering him Remus had caved and bought his first flip phone.
“for the thousandth time James no he has not told me,” he sighed readjusting the phone against ear “And before you ask no I haven’t googled it Sirius said that this show was special and I’m not going to spoil the surprise just to appease my curiosity I’m not you James I have this thing called patience something you wouldn’t have heard of.”
“What’s up your ass?”
“I can tell you what’s not and it's my birthday for crying out loud.” Remus scoffed
“Ehhhh, I walked myself right into that one didn’t I?” James groaned
“I believe you already know the answer to that.”
“It's called a rhetorical question you prick.”
Remus sat on the edge of his and Sirius’ bed grinning to himself at this fool of a man he called his best friend. If someone had told Remus a year ago that he would work in a bookstore with his best friend and spend Sunday mornings with his Mums and the love of his life. A knock at the front door pulls from his stupor.
“That’s my ride James I’m off see you there right?”
“I’ll be there but I’m not sure if you’ll see me.” James chuckles
“Funny, see you later James.” and with that he hung up stepping into the car Sirius had sent for him taking him to the concert.
The car pulled up to an old brick building the surrounding garden meticulously kept. The door opens to reveal Sirius in fitted pants and an opaque black shirt that hugged his form only half buttoned revealing all his tattoos, a grin splitting his face.
“Hi love.” Sirius whispered, pulling Remus from the car bringing the building into full view.
“Is it ok love,” Sirius said holding him from behind “I figured since you never got to go this might be like closure of some kind. “
Remus lent into the other man as he looked up to at the London observatory a mix of feelings unfurling in his gut. The most prominent of which was love. Love for Sirius and love for his family both found and lost. He let out a breath feeling the weight of thirteen years' tension leave his body as he watched the stars in the arms of his love.
“I love you star.” he whispered, voice drifting to the moon and stars above.
