Chapter Text
You head back to your room and collapse onto the bed, falling asleep the moment your head hits the pillow.
Before the rooster even crows, you’re awake. You get dressed, gather your gear, and make your way to the gate.
You tell the guards you’ll be leaving soon, and they swing the gates open for you. You walk to your horse, adjusting the saddle when Hans strolls up.
“Henry!”
“Looks like I’m earlier than you,” you say, patting your horse’s neck. “ Where are we going first?”
“We’ll ride to Bozhena’s place. I want to give her a proper thank-you before we start our journey.” Hans swings into his saddle. “Care for a race?”
“Sure. Any price for the winner?”
“How about… the winner can demand anything from the loser?”
“Fair enough. Just don’t complain when I win.”
“Big words from a peasant who only learned to ride not long ago.”
“I’ve spent more hours in a saddle than you think. Underestimate me and you’ll regret it.”
“Enough talk, prove it.” Hans turned his horse toward the gate. “Ready? Get set… GO!”
